Great to see smaller guys with beautiful, non-choppy swings.

great to see a smaller guy from lower round racking it in the bigs with solid hitting fundamentals like Schneider

I was at the Jays game yesterday and saw Schneider hitting cleanup after Vladdy. Really impressive that he’s batting the cleanup spot and having this much success early in his career. Jays might not make the playoffs this year but if Schneider can keep this up he might be the big bat that the jays are looking for the next few years… plus he has the best moustache in the league 😂

@@mcfarlac1 he looks confident in the box with his swing. a lot to learn from his approach at the plate.

Does the swing look that compact on pitches that aren't up in the zone?

The nod telling the ball "Hello." His front leg straightens supplying leverage.

Hey Matt I noticed that his back knee drives down toward the ground as it turns. How important do you think that the back knee turns and drives down toward the ground. As always thanks for the videos!

    The two important bits are:
Back thigh goes through the ball, not down. But forward
Hands break back and the body brings them forward

I think players get in these zones and they become super human for brief periods of time You see this happen in all great players ie., Bonds, Manny, ARod, etc. ,etc., etc.

How long does it take for younger kids (7-10) to learn to swing this way?

Good question. My son will be 7 in November. As soon as his travel season ends, we will be working all summer to implement this.

I have a 6 yr old doing this. I can't do some of the reinforcement drills yet, that specialist coaches like Matt do(using bands to create resistance)...but my kid loves when he's able to keep his rearward coil, and notices the difference when his timing releases it.
In short...very young kids can get these concepts. I'm working on not overloading him though, still having fun.(he just happens to crush line drives and deep balls sometimes😉)
