For everyone getting hybrid error codes. More than 90% of errors in the hybrid system on the LS600 are a sensor in the DC/DC converter that detects moisture from water in the trunck, a problem if trunk stands open when it rains over longer periods. People are tricked into replacing the DC/DC converter when the error goes away after some days when getting the water out from where the wheel is located.
Aha, now I pretty sure what these "what-the-h..-is-this-doing-here sensors" are for, which I found in the trunk after removing all the interior to make soundproofing in my GS 450h. Very good to know about this because moisture in the trunk is always more or less a problem for all sedans.
Important lesson learned. Just try to do the easy fix, and take your time. Bravo Mario! And have some more confidence in your skills. Apperantly the issue is fixing right! 👍
I can contribute with a story for my GS 450h, regarding warning messages and illogical underlying causes. I removed the cooling fan for the high voltage battery and had also removed the ML amplifier. It was to inspect and clean the fan in connection with tearing out all the interior of the trunk for soundproofing. Had to start and turn the car over in the garage and thought that error codes would probably be set for the absence of the cooling fan and the amplifier. It should be added that the 12V battery had been disconnected during the entire time I worked on the car. Plugged in the 12V battery and the car starts as usual, but with a series of warning messages: "Check Hybrid System" was logical. But "Check PCS Collision System" and "Some kind of warning for AFS lightning" didn't feel good and logical at the moment. The seats and steering wheel had also lost their memory. The amazing thing was that everything went back to normal after the fan and the amplifier was reinstalled without the 12V battery connected. Not even any new error codes and the old historical also remained!
Update: Yes my problem has been fixed with a new brake switch. I think it also worths mention that the brake switch also controls the illustration of brake lights, which is also linked to the holding of cruise control by depressing the brake pedal. Therefore, over-tightness by screwing too much may cause the brake light NOT GO ON when lightly depressing the brake padel. Also, the cruise control may not cancel when you brake too gently. Your car would decelerate but once you lift the brake the cruise control will accelerate the car back. It is advised to calibrate the brake switch by checking the way brake lights goes on. You would want to see the brake light goes on when you lightly depress the brake pedal, as well as the brake pedal giving you a linear resistance feedback.
You know you are not supposed to be adding coolant too often when was the last time you checked it? I don’t know if the 600 engine suffers from the valley plate leak issue and also check the radiator it’s known to fail
My brake lights work but i have a failure code C1A40. And check hybrid system, check pcs and cruise control dosnt work. RX 450H. Should i just replace the break light switch and hope thats work? 😅 But the lamps its not always on the dashboard. When i drive maybe like 30 minutes the lamps are on the dashboard. But the "check hybrid system is always on"
My brake lights worked as well. The switch is cheap and easily changed. I would try that first and go from there. If it solves the issue, great! If not, you will most likely have to spend a lot more money so that the cost of the switch will be negligible in comparison.
At some point, but to be honest, I've spent very little money since the last video. The Lexus is due for its state inspection in April, however. Maybe that will reveal that some investment is needed.
Interesting because I’m sometimes having a PCS issue popping but the problem occurs only when it’s dark outside and if the car has been wet (I.e. after washing or driven under rain)
Coming soon! Conclusion: yes, it's good. But in my opinion it's too expensive for hardware that was already quite low end in 2018 and Android 8.1 (Android 13 is the most current version).
Would this part fit the 460? I have the B2090 fault code, but I think it has to do something with rear radar sensor as it gives me U1118 code too. I was lazy to this day to remove rear bumper and check the sensor itself, but maybe there are multiple causes of the codes.
I think it's the same on the 460 as that has the same braking system. Of you can get it locally, it will probably be cheaper than what I paid for it. So, cheap enough to give it a try.
I have the same probolem in my LS600h 08. I will try to fix it that way.... BTW Did you notice any work of face infrared camera on sterring wheel ? It supossed to detect tired driver face....
I can see the allure of a low mileage car. But on a Lexus, if the condition is good and it has been properly maintained I don't mind higher mileage. It usually makes the car much cheaper to buy and not really less reliable.
Ahh, bodge wires that connect to the footwell lights! What do you tink was installed there?

Well done Super Mario, thank you for showing this video, the extra wire mess was most likely to power a dash mounted, radar/laser detector.
.
I had the same problem, your adviced helped my 600h with ACC working . Thanks Mario

You are a life saver. I have exact problem as you do, DTC C1A40, B2090, C1A05 on my 07 LS600HL. Many Thanks

Ok, the guy is called: The Car Care Nut.
You can ask him questions.
Good luck.
Finally, Mario's back! Let's make a delicious meal!
You know what, I have an idea for a food preparation clip. Let's see if I can make it.
Oops 🙊 I just watched it all the way through lol.
Well done 👍
What scan tool do you use? Is it expensive?
A cheap cable from aliexpress with a sketchy version of Toyota's Techstream Software.
Felicitations. Very quiet car!
Lovely fix 🏆
How are the Caddy and the Knight Rider doing? 😊
WIP. Once the roads get less salty, the Trans Am will get some attention. The Caddy needs some more (professional) work on the cooling system.
Man that air outlet is one of the best thing for men. #coolnutzzz

can we get a "total cost of ownership" update?

I was getting the PCS error on my LS460. That turned out to be a failing Xenon Bulb.
That is really insane!

You are like father to me ❤
I feel sorry for you. 🥲
Hi,
A video about Groom Vline2 will be interesting. I want to add one to my IS250 from 2007, is worth it?
Thanks!

cabin air filter is upside down

Tried a couple of times to fake me dozing off but nothing ever happened. 🤷🏻♂️
@@swisscarguy I was doing the same, closing eyes or turning head off road, no reactions
I’m still looking to buy one in good condition and low mileage.
Try asking the (Toyota) car guy. 🤔

If you want good a nice selection look at Japanese auctions. The LS is almost as popular as the IS which is incredible.
Hi mario
Fix your Car mario, its not that hard
Apparently, I did. 👋🏼
No one drives a Lexus but you 😬
Where is that ugly Cadillac you were going to fix up?
