I tried it. Unfortunately v5 does not allow editing in 360 video mode, but only in Reframe mode. Therefore, I will continue to use Premiere.
Oh yes, it is only for reframe - Insta360 does not care about 360 video editors like us - which is a shame :(

@@hughhouIt seems to me that the manufacturers of 360 cameras have forgotten about the original panoramic purpose of their cameras and have gone the route of developing omnidirectional cameras for the masses with mind-blowing tricks. It's a pity. The effect of presence and leisurely examination of the world around us is so interesting. 🤔
It is such a pity that the v5 still does not allow edit and join 360 videos together 🙁 Is FFmpeg the only option if you don´t want to pay for Premiere and would like to join several short 360 degree videos together to longer full resolution 360 video?
Really great video - as always 😮 - I was into 360° creation with insta one and then x2 - and then got the Kandao qoo cam with 8k.
Insta was always ahead in software and now this new version fills nearly every gap! Just waiting and being curious how long it will take till insta will make the step from 5.7k video to 8k in a two lens format. Kandao sucked unfortunately as they promise since one year to enter that field with a new version - and Canon is on the horizon - so it`s time for insta take the leap again 😊 really hope for that!
Qoocam 3 Ultra is 100% launching at April with is next month. Insta360 has no news. Canon .... mmmm ... All I can say it is coming very soon.

Here is my question: I have 2 One RS 1" cams and I was wondering how to create 360° or 180° mono and stereoscopic videos by combining them to create a preset in Mistika Boutique.
In your video 'Insta360 Studio Masterclass + Free LUTs: GAME CHANGING 2024 Update That You Need To Know' from March 29, 2024, at minute 0:51', we can see 2 One RS on your rail. Were you able to create a 360° or 180° stereoscopic video with this system?
I would be very interested in knowing how to create a preset from scratch in Mistika Boutique to use these 2 coupled cameras.
1- Is it feasible? 2- If yes, how to do it? to create and use a 2D then 3D preset that does not exist in Boutique?

I am still not able to upgrade to v.5 . Anyway is new studio good even for 360VR content or only for reframed videos? Are your LUTs good to use for LOG videos?
Studio is NOT for 360VR content - it is only for reframe. My LUTs can NOT use in LOG footage - only REC 709. Insta360 LOG is no good don't use it.
You mentioned using VP9 to upload to youtube, should we be using AV1 instead now that the Quest CZcams app supports 360 8k? I had been uploading reframed version with handbranke's h264, is should I use VP9 instead now?
Wait, CZcams App support AV1 on Meta Quest 3 in 8K? Where did you hear the news?!
@@hughhou hm, my reply with the reddit link got removed but I'm sure you can search for it. Not all videos show up in 8k though, I'm not sure if it's only the AV1 encoded when uploaded or how that is determined. I was hoping Meta TV would support AV1 by now and could use a single encoding workflow for uploading to both CZcams and MetaTV.
what program do you use to add LUT?
hmm great video, but I wish they had made a Resolve plug-in instead of trying this ambitious project. it will still be so many years before this software will become usable (you can't even overlay custom gridlines, or use 32:9 AR)
Well, my next tutorial might make you very happy lol. Still in NDA I can't share more but LOTS OF pro level tutorials are coming for pro content creators like yourself where image quality is very important :)
@@hughhou i hope it involves the keyframes actually being saved alongside the file. This thing about losing all your work if you rename the folder is quite the dealbreaker.
:/ Have read Insta360 Stitcher at first and hoped for some comparison of new Ai Stitching, nsw Pro 2 Firmware etc. But thank you very much anyway. :)

Unfortunately, I don't use premiere either. DaVinci and Capcut are what I use.
Great, but no mention on the lack of outputting real 360 videos if you import inst files in to a project there is no way of out putting non flat 360 videos. I would have assumed that Insta would have done this as its a real hassle taking the files then adding in the data latter. Or do you know they are dealing with the problem?? Many thanks
Yes this is for reframe not 360 editing.. Insta360 does not care about the 360 video community enough unfortunately:(
I still don't understand the need for the media page if you can do all the editing on the project page?
Media page is what it is like before V5. So they keep it for consistency. You can slowly move completely to Project Page. For people just want to quickly reframe 1 clip it is faster on Media Page. It is kinda like Resolve Cut page vs Edit Page. Edit page can do everything on Cut Page but people still like to use Cut page for speed and simplicity.
Hi Hugh, how are you? I have burning question on Spatial Audio. I ordered the Rode NT SF1 spatial mic and Zoom H6 essential, for 360 field recording. I was informed that the Zoom H6 can't record in Ambisonic - so sad, instead it can only record in mono and need post processing later. May I check with you the post processing can I use Reaper App? or is there other app s I can use.
Yes, it record individual mono audio and then Rode should have an app to turn that into A format and then just ambisonic in Premiere as only have 4 channels.

Yesterday i teied a 22 min 4k video on my mac... it took almost 5 hrs to export

how is the image quality vs premiere plugin? I was confused by the image quality degradation thing.....
Better as using the new V5, you do not really render until the final step as you see in my tutorial. Premiere you need to use Studio to render into something and then render again for release - so the image quality drop there. Is there make sense? But Premiere plugins from Insta360 is going tho a rebuild from ground up so hopefully it can fix all the bugs right now causing Premiere to crash left and right.
Hi Hugh, can it be used with Gopro Max movies?
Yes! Instead of importing into project media, you import GoPro MAX footage into General Media (where I put Kimchi selfie demo in this video). It will work as 360 video! Obviously you stitch your GoPro footage using GoPro Player first so it is MOV or MP4 files. Then it just behave like Insta360 video. It will also work with Qoocam 3 footage. It is basically an editing software for ALL 360 video footage not just Insta360.
@@hughhou And it also works with footage which is not 360 at all, as a basic video editor.
The function "Autosave" doesn't work on my pc. I have to finish edition job at once otherwise all the edited work will be blowen away.
This sound like a temp PC bug. On Mac is fine. The next version will fix that. It is still a pretty new software.

In General Media yes. Try it. Right now there is still some bug but they are fixing it. Look like they just want to support everything.
Yo Joe I just checked Qoocam 3 stitched ProRes into General Media - it recognized as 360 video and you can reframe, add keyframe, even AI deep track the video. I don't think it is a hack - it is basically a free editor for ALL 360 camera. Try it anyway - it is free! And better than Premiere. 10000 time better than Kandao software or others.

why fps is locked? i wanna edit my onex2 videos which are 25 fps..and i cant? why is thaT? i will have to export at 30 fps which will cause drop frames ..any clue?

Is the insta 360 pro line dead? It's been a while since the 2, and the Titan is far too expensive for what it is....
I think so for now. It does not make Insta360 money unfortunately. The Pro mostly rent than buy. Sad…
But other brands are progressing in pro line camera.
How do you export a 360 project. It only seems you export 16.9 etc
Yes this is only for reframe 360 video NOT 360 video render. Insta360 seem to not care about the immersive filmmaking industry which is a shame. But this is a great tool to make promotion social video fast. 360 video you will need my Premiere and Resolve workflow.

Yes! That is for Advanced users who want that extra quality boost. 99% of the people do NOT need it. Since I have lots of pros following this channel and they all want that extra 1% quality boost so that is the option.
