OMG! How many years have I been asking you to pester Insta360 into adding multi-clip editing? Awesome!
this is a leap software that insta360 can created and its great... good job for insta360
You can resize the track area by dragging above it.
There is a significant but initially puzzling change to the way that transitions between keyframes are edited. You no longer have to do a fiddly click on the yellow line. Just ensure that the playhead is above the relevant line and that the clip has been selected.
In my normal free editor you can move the preview screen fullscreen onto a second monitor but not with Studio, yet.
You cannot fade in the start of your project nor fade out the end without a workaround. Needs improvement, eg a fade in and fade out slider at the top right of the screen like it has for audio.
You cannot crossfade the audio from one clip to the next. You can fade it out completely and fade it in completely but that emphasises the edit.
Overall a great start and I look forward to future versions!

I have found that when you add a title, you can customize the text and click the "text v" it allows for a color change of the font color.

Thank you for your feature video! So, the project section only allows you to save "flat" video, not 360. Saving as 360 would be the benefit, otherwise I can just use flat exports and edit in any other software.
Huge improvement with latest software update as used it before hand. For the people that do not like it then can always edit on insta 360 studio and export it to your preferred editing software if it supports it, I used to export to Final Cut Pro as the old insta studio was very limited. Enjoyed watching 🥳🥳🥳🥳

Thank you for the video. I'm glad they have an improvement on the desktop app. I've tried it and I found that the export time is pretty slow for me. If they could improve this it would be nice.

Definitely a step in the right direction. Who wants to be flipping from Studio to some other editor to build your project. Okay, fair enough, if you have the specific need to then fine. But for most anything I do with the Insta360 staying within their ecosystem is just fine by me. Nicely done.
Thanks for another great video. I found that if I change the speed in the media section it does not come through to the project section unless I export it first. Have you found the same? This is disappointing, I hope they fix it. Cheers.
Any thoughts on which "User Preference" settings to enable/disable? All seem to be disabled by default.

Thanks Ben and the improvement of the software is moving in the right direction. What i would like to see that they also add the shotlabs into the studio software, so we do not need to use a small phone for that purpose.
full agreement. They should have invested their capacities, know-how and time in the Shotlabs rather than an editing program, of which there are already many.
FYI - You can change the color of the text using the dropdown on the text panel.
Not sure if it was available in the previous version, but I can finally pan more than 360 degrees-past a full circle. In fact the pan angle dialog now shows 1x, 2x plus degrees- meaning you can swing the view all the way around multiple times.
Really good for beginners. Much easier to start. Less controls on the screen so beginner is not confused what to do like in pro programs.
Is there an option in 360 studio to add text to 360 video only no reframe or you have to use other programs?
FINALLY! I gave up using the software because it missed having multiple clips together and text on 360 videos. Question - what system do you use as far as a laptop or desktop? The videos take up so much space and I would like to buy a new laptop so I can edit while traveling etc. But don't want to go crazy on spend. 1TB doesn't even seem good enough because you constantly have to backup to the cloud.
Does it let you apply the insta360 lut, or is it built in if you select a color profile?

Hello Ben, do you know if we can import or open in this "insta 360 studio" project timeline a project of a video created in the iphone insta360 app ? (conserving music, video effects transitions..)
Bomber video mate! Info rich, well explained...and I had no idea it was even out (no thanks to insta360 themselves) but ho hum....makes loading a bunch of video onto the desktop instead of struggling with a phone much more appealing.

great additions to the software. I have been editing gopro clips with insta360 studio for a long time, so that wasn't new but I love having the option as gopro software leaves me needing another solution, still. I can't wait to upgrade to an actual insta360 camera!! Thanks for the vid Mr. Ben!!!

Wow - this is huge!
No it's not. It's a shoddy bolt on that doesn't nearly compete with something like Capcut except the 360 reframing which we could do before and export into another editor (many of which are free and SO much better than this garbage).

Brilliant video. I might just be able to get a video together finally. I love the camera, but always get fed up with the editing process having to export and create the movie in a separate video editor. I’ve been on several vactions with my insta 360 x3, have all this great footage, and then lose the will to put something together due to the time it takes. I’m sure this new software will address all these issues. 😂
the one thing that it needs is the ability to make speed ramping and multiple tracks. Other than that it seems pretty good.

I had a problem converting video to street view. The gpx created by version 5.0 is becoming incompatible, making it impossible to generate the blue line. I had to go back to an older version to solve the problem.

WoW I don't own a insta360 yet but that's insane that they just added multiclip editing I think it's time I grab an X4
for those like me who can't figure out how to switch projects, the controller is right above the timeline where the name of the project is - click that and you'll get options to switch project or create a new project. Otherwise it's a GREAT ux, simple, clean.

How do I get my x4 to be normal viewing?It's all whacked looking crazy ! I put in x3 clip no issues! Any suggestions ? Project mode its whacked in media mode is blacked out and cant see it but you can hear it-if I go on timeline you can see it-weird ...

I really enjoy the Motion ND thing. Using it with my Go2, which additionally helps optically making up for the limits in resolution and image quality. Oh, and it's good to know that this will also work with any future cameras Insta360 will release in the future. However distant that future may be 👀

Insta360 🌐360° 8K will be out April 16, 2024 (thus this new Studio 5.0)
Those using version 5.0.0 may receive errors when they print files for street view. They can solve this error by reverting to version 4.9.2. In version 5.0.0, they may receive an error that GPS timestamps and video timestamps do not match in Street View Studio.

Any thoughts on the Premiere Pro Plugin. I have a decent machine but have had to abandon the plugin just cuz it crashed way too often.
I left premiere a few months ago for DaVinci and CapCut… have not looked back

Here's the "tutorial": Right above the preview-window, click the eye icon (360 view), then press CTRL-S (Windows) or command-S (Mac) to save the image, job done.
The entire world was waiting for your video and yet again, you didn't disappoint. However, for those of us who record audio on a separate device and use a hand clap to create a sync point, it sure would be nice if they had a marker feature to line up the video and audio tracks. Yup, I said the same about CapCut! Well Done Ben!

If I record a 30min clip, is there any way to take multiple clips from this one? Especially on the phone app. If I record a bike ride there is no way of taking multiple clips for this one after reframing.
I have a question. I take 360 videos using the insta360 and watch them on Quest 3. However, the videos make everything look huge. People, building, cars everything looks extremely huge. Is there a way to fix this?

Okay, this update is really great but how do I go back to exporting a straight 360 video? It's not an option that I can find. It defaults to a reframed video but that's not always what I want. Edit: Found it. It's now under the Media tab. I guess they figure most people won't use it. I'm glad it's still in there.
Unfortunately, the program does not work correctly with VR180 3D files shot on EVO. Hopefully this will be fixed in the future.

A good machine is needed to manage this new version of the SW, my old PC is not able to cope with the program...
How do I sort my files in the project media tab once it's been imported? It appears randomly. And there is no option to sort by date or name or any other way. I have 116 files. I cannot even begin to edit my footage chronologically cos I'm trying to make a video about a trip to vietnam.

@BenClaremont once you use a project and put clips together, I can't find any way to export as 360 video. I want to put together a 360 video of a 360 video of the April 8th eclipse with 360 timelapse at start and end.
@@BuildingByFaith you are right. In fact, the max resolution option on export is 3840x2160 (30fps). My X3 footage is shot in 5760x2880. Even if it DID export in 360, if that's the max resolution, it's a 30% drop in quality from the single-clip "media" option.
