- Kathy Hendricks is happy to see her North Las Vegas community in a festive mood. The reason? A few months ago bad neighbors were causing problems, and she said their home became a hotbed of crime.
What is the point of paying to live in a gated community if non-resident squatters can sneak in and take over a home?
They don’t sneak in they get the home legally then refuse to pay and wreck the home as well.
There’s some squatters that still have jobs and money. They just can’t seam to wanna live in lower income communities. I have a sister in law like that. She’s no squatter but she’d rather down size then to move into the hood even tho the house would be bigger with a yard.
Gated Communities give the illusion of security lol
The country needs stronger consequences for squatters criminally and civilly. No wonder no one wants to be a landlord.

look up what u have to do to clame squatter rights and look at what this so called sqatter do and tell me if thay meet the law on swatting to even clame squatter rights acording to supreme court in order to clame squatter rights u 1 have to pay the bills take care the house talk to ur nabor get ur mail there water plants do everything u would do if u legaly own the house and have to been there for 5 or 10 years if not done that then its not squatter rights but braking entering destying privet property and squatter rights was made back befor there was deed to pruff owner ship of the house basicly now that we have deeds we can pruff owner ship of house and there fore cant clame squatter right to begin with cus u legaly have right to defend ur property by any means nessasery so if u dont give them permison to be on or in ur property and thay refuse to leave u can then legaly pull a gun on them in self defence supreme court ruling to defend 1 self and property is to stand 1 ground and most state have a stand ur ground law alowing u to shoot and kill any intruder vather nessasery or not armed or not now what cop going do u got ur rights witch he cant strip away from u with out facing fedral charges and he cant clame civel matter now
HOA will fine you if there's a gnome on your lawn, but will let squatters keep used needles all over the lawn 🤣

I would do it legally vs. “other options”. Don’t ever sacrifice your own freedom.
This happened in a GATED COMMUNITY?! How did they even get in if they didn't even live there?! The only way to deal with squatters is to get a gang of people together and forcefully remove them, wear masks and everything so they can't let the police know who "evicted" them. Not only that, but I don't think the police would help them regain access to a home that they were squatting in.

What I'd like to know....who the heck came up with the idea that someone should be able to occupy a home they don't even own or rent? And who wrote the laws supporting this kind of behavior? I've heard about "squatters rights" but how and when did breaking into and occupying someone elses home become a "right"?

It started when certain people use the laws a long long time ago to take people's land and properties. Most of Americas laws have loop hole that were put their for certain people. I don't agree or like the system when it not used a it's general purpose. Just like the block parts is distasteful to me.
The same people that wrote all the other laws full of loopholes.
It's a renting loophole some people have fake paperwork and landlords don't check right and once their in by your permission then that's when they have those rights.

We had an experience some years ago, the squatters who took over the empty house next door were tweakers. There were also people coming and going at all hours, fighting.. you’d hear loud yelling, breaking bottles, etc. I think every neighbor called the police at one point on them but without success. Until we waited for the right moment, they made the mistake of partying with someone who brought her kids. A little baby in a stroller and a little boy approximately 5 years old. That was what finally got all those mfkrs tossed tf out! We didn’t celebrate like in the video but we did 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 lol 😂

Squatters moved into my aunts townhouse in FL years ago police did nothing we went down there kicked in the door thru them out it was 3 crack head looking white dudes but their was 11 of us my aunt had to remodel the place after

It's a Democratic way of thinking and their wacked out laws and ideas, where suspects have more rights than the victims.
The problem is that politicians don't think ahead of time, and make laws to prevent squatting. It takes three years to do what six grown men can do in 5 minutes. That is despicable.

Here I am trying to save for a house and can't buy one for a long time and people out there just squatting get a job have some pride that is just a shame if I had more money I'd buy It and spend most my off time fixing it back up such a shame

I lived across the HOA president once. What a nightmare it was.
Took us 2+ years to get squatters out of our neighborhood in our non HOA gated community..amazing how fast they work when its not an old neighborhood.And 311 is useless they never answer

I'm not sure if the people that were interviewed plan on moving anytime soon. I'm not sure if the squatters went to jail or not or how they're going to feel about the comments that might have been said about them and the people that went to that house. I guess let's just hope that they don't watch the news that much, or that they're able to positively accept feedback and criticism.

It a gray area. HOA is not law enforcement. They COULD cite them for trash and architectural violations but not criminal activity.
