I love Dimension 20. But the love i have for Fantasy High specifically, its one that cant be explained.
Mine was the NYC one. The best so far imo. That being said, I fugging love fantasy high.
I just hope Kristen is less horny this season. Her horniness destroyed quite a few quality moments in Sophomore Year.
I feel that, I don't know why, but it's by far my favorite series.

@@castbet9183 I think Kristen only did this twice. First with the "interne God" as Brennan and Ally jokingly referred to Yes!/IDK, and then with Cassandra. As far as Yes!/IDK goes, I think one of them was the rough draft and the second name was what was settled with, so it's two versions of the same god. If I remember correctly. I kind of think it went "IDK" (rough draft)->Yes!->Cassandra but Kristen wears a "IDK" shirt. Shit got complicated.
In the last episode of sophomore year Cassandra wears an IDK shirt, but I don’t remember Yes? as ever being related to that. Kristan just went off the ‘power of doubt’ for a bit while still saying she was a cleric of Yes.
Freshman year came out when I was a freshman in high school, sophomore year came out when I was a sophomore in high school, and now junior year is coming our when I am a junior in college. Thank you Dimension 20. You all mean the world to me.

I’m calling it here, gender identity crisis. Because while I get the role playing aspect, I could see that Kristen being a cis woman can feel a little dysphoric to Ally as a person.

@@AHDBification I thought it was funny at the time, but I'm pretty sure that plot line is concluded. Brennan's reaction to the "Are you my father" attempt at the beginning of Sophomore year was basically, "that joke has run its course," so I don't think he likes jokes overstaying their welcome.

@@ruthharvey4158 They started off Sophomore Year at level 8, not sure if they finished Freshman Year at that level too, so I don't think they'll level up too much. The highest they've gone on Dimension 20 is Level 14 for Bloodkeep, Brennan also had EXU Calamity at 14 so I think that might be his sweet spot for higher level play without things getting too crazy

They ended Sophomore at level 9, Tier 3 D&D play is levels 11-16 and Tier 4 is 17-20. If I were to take a guess they'll get to level 14 or 15 in Junior year, and get to the level 20 Home Stretch Senior Year.

@@pendersweetz D&D 5th Edition caps out at Level 20. Some older D&D Editions went to higher levels called "Epic Levels" but 5th Edition, which is what Dimension 20 uses, never got Epic Levels mechanics, so it caps out at Level 20 :p

@@Kamirasu They didn't do as much combat in Sophomore year, and also it was there first online work from home game brought to you by the pandemic, so I think they just weren't wanting to update sheets constantly

@@SmudgedSketch honestly for me it took a lot of effort. the sound quality is hard to bear, but to be brutally honest the aspect i'm having the most difficulty about is the fact that it is livestreamed and unedited. i don't really enjoy livestream in general tho so it's on me i'm 90% sure
@@SmudgedSketch It's all here free on CZcams! So you have plenty of time! We are up to episode 16 and sure there are some hiccups it's still really good! Just heads up they did this all live so it's not gonna be like freshman year. But Sophomore year is awesome and really shows growth to each and every character so definitely give it a watch! Also, yes it is recorded live! Unedited but I think that's the charm because when you play DND regularly it's never edited! But I can understand the audio and quality isn't up to everyone's standards.

One of the things that makes D20 so much easier to watch than any of the other major actual play series is the use of editing and dynamic cuts during combat to highlight certain actions visually.
Without the dead air being cut out my brain slips off of it like a rodeo bull made out of butter.
I do want to get caught up, so I'll give it another punt.
I’m so excited I might cry. Fantasy high was my introduction to not only Dropout but Dungeons and Dragons as well. I can’t wait to see what the Bad Kids get up to in their Junior Year!

I’m in love with how visible the improvements in the set & budget are from Fantasy High: Freshman Year. So excited to see the story of the original intrepid heroes continue!
The number of times this year I've spoken the words "I've never been more excited for a season of Dimension 20" is wild.
I understand why the last season had to have the live format - frankly it's a miracle in the face of everything that you managed to make it happen at all in the face of TWO SIMULTANEOUS, ENORMOUS, DISRUPTIVE, LIFE ALTERING EVENTS. And even then it still turned out incredible! But I'm really glad to see the full fat edited, battleset including, audio mastered version back.
There was nothing about the actual dramatic component of it that was lacking - you're all masters of improv. But the ability to think slightly more about things, cut out calculation time, properly separate and mix the audio, pick shots, visually represent the battles, make sure everyone can be present (and on time) every week... It's the gloss that goes above and beyond to separate you from everyone else.
Kudos to everyone who does the pre and post-production for these. You absolutely kill it every time. It really is the cherry on top.

Went over this trailer, it seems that if you're a member and all caught up; that there's only two more battles left. One in a pirate ship in the sky and one in what seems to be the depths of hell or something close to it.

If so, better keep an eye out this season, as we have learned, the main plot of new fantasy high seasons are things mentioned offhand in prior seasons.

I started watching fantasy high when the first two season had already been filmed. I was going into my freshman year of highschool the summer i started. I rewatched both seasons over and over, I started dnd campaigns and watched all of the new dnd adventures as they came out. In 2024, i graduate. I have a plan to go to college to write a book one day. This series and its actors have been integral to my growth and life throughout highschool, and in my worst moments and exam seasons I have turned to them for a break, a reminder than I'm not alone. I can't express enough how much it means to me to see another season of this after all the changes and growth I've gone through.

that's really dope to hear. thanks for sharing :) I struggle to relate to FH, i have only been able to watch a couple episodes and it was hard for me. i suspect it's because i hated high school and do not have any nostalgia or good memories for that time, which was 13 years ago it ended lol. if i had d20 back then, man would that be different though. all this to say, while i probably will not be as stoked as others for this season, seeing comments like this makes me SO happy for those people who are excited for it. i know it's a lot of people's fav d20 IP and it's for a good reason! (and everything Brennen touches is gold)

as someone who got into dimension 20 earlier this year, i literally could not be happier that this is going on now!!! the first episode is coming out the month i turn 16 and i genuinely feel like im growing with the characters

I’m so happy that I found Dropout after admittedly too long of a time. Best subscription based streaming service ever thanks to the awesome work that is put into not only Dimension 20 but also the rest of their content. Can’t wait for this Junior year!
Gorgug going into a worry instead of a rage is so perfect
where we are at currently in the series, there is two battle sets we haven't seen, One is a pirate ship or ocean area map that has a dragon while the other one is some volcano map. Im so exited to see how they get to these locations

Brendan talked about at one point that KVX bank changed its logo from red to blue as a ‘rebranding’ but it’s be funny if the change was actually facilitated by them changing dragons to his ancestor 😂

This series got me into D&D. The moment Fabian ate shit trying to jump on the cafeteria table in freshman year, I knew I was absolutely hooked.
The new art looks so fun! So excited! Fantasy high is so special not just because of the fantastic story but because of how you can see D20 mature and grow as a production. Kind of reflecting the high school experience 🤔 lol. So happy to get to spend time in this world again!

God this is so nostalgic for me! The first campaign of FH was literally my very first exposure to dnd which has now become such a huge part of my personality😂. Adaine was so instrumental in helping me understand that I can be capable with anxiety, that it’s not something to fight or runaway from, but can sometimes be a little frog that hangs out with me and frowns when things are going wrong (even the little guy might get it wrong sometimes, he’s trying) ❤
I am so unspeakably excited! Dimension 20 is always so much fun but Fantasy High really does hold a special place in my heart.

January 3rd - January 9th: Individual behind-the-scenes featurettes focusing on each member of the cast releasing on Dropout.
Dimension 20 is the main reason I have dropout still. I’m glad they’re still having fun making it.

Oh man, going from Season 1 when everyone was brand new to D20, to Season 2 which was so heavily impacted by Covid and all theater of the mind, to Season 3 where the dome has been upgraded and the sets have only become more and more intricate and everyone is so seasoned. This is going to be one of the best seasons if not the best season of Dimension 20

Like many others here, Fantasy High has a special place in my heart 🥰 So excited for this! I still remember back when it was coming out one episode at a time on Dropout, and look how far Dropout and Dimension 20 have come. I am feeling many emotions.
Im so hype those two first season are some of my best memory of the covid lockdown, they really helped me alot. My brother DM the first year of Fantasy High as a kind of homebrew adventure path mix, I already knew all the characters and story beat but it was a blast studying at the Academy and hanging out in the city while my friend who knew nothing were living the exitement of this world .
The art direction on this series is incredible, holy shit. The sketchy pen art! The dome! Buff Kristen!!!
