The guy spinning in the video is Spinner Mick from Todmorden. This was the last record at Blackpool Mecca and Leeds Central. Was very fortunate to see Benny perform this Northern Soul Classic. Amazing song and wonderful job by Benny Troy. Surprised it was not a big hit in North America...should have been! Also wonder why another big singer or band did not cover it! Sadly in music, like any product, if you don't have the big bucks by the label to market and promote it....!
When music was music! Now orchestras revert back to classic music, and dance music became more electronic and with less soul. Disco had soul back then.
Al Kent played this at a Million Dollar Disco party in October. First time I’ve heard it and it was incredible over the Berkeley Suite sound system. Track of the night - absolutely stunning.

As a Northern Soul newbie, I stand corrected. But Northern Soul does bear the DNA of 70's disco sound, which makes it so bloody satisfying.
