  • Dr. Jill Bolte Taylor is a Harvard-trained and published neuroscientist. In 1996 she experienced a severe hemorrhage in the left hemisphere of her brain causing her to lose the ability to walk, talk, read, write, or recall any of her life. Her memoir, My Stroke of Insight, documented her experience with stroke and eight-year recovery. In this episode of Frank Buckley Interviews, Dr. Taylor recounts the experience and what she learned after. She also discusses the brains function in regards to racism and addiction.

Love this. Perhaps this is why the 12 steps in AA works so well for addiction to alcohol it seems to me it’s a right brain program dealing with the left brain problem and the big book of Alcoholics Anonymous talks about a psychic change which makes complete sense in light of this interview so I have to say most excellent advice when stated it’s that left brain memories and pain from the past and all of those fears and anxieties into rehab!

The brain was meant to be used.
Too bad many don't or abuse it.
