Wii Sports being bundled outside of places like Japan increased the cost of the Wii by ~$40 (that's roughly how much the game cost in Japan separately), and that was also a simple party game.
With rising costs of development, especially due to the move to HD within the past ten years, a $10 price increase isn't unexpected.
And again, unlike Wii Sports, you aren't even forced to pay for it.

I think they should. Probably not the Wii because the Virtual console on the wii is different than the one on the wii U (VC is an emulator, its reoptimized on the Wii U, its closely related to the 3ds's VC.) Thats why not all VC games on the wii are on the wii u.

oh Gods I hope so. I've bought way too many games on the 3ds, and I don't want to buy them all again. I'm talking mario, zelda, and classic nes games I could get my hands on. Hopefully I'll be able to transfer shovel knight over too.

Secoire Āto I *HATE* Nintendo eShop, because I saw an image on eShop where it exactly showed that in Paper Mario: The thousand year door, that's where I hate toad in the paper Mario series he was in trouble three times in Japan and two times in a row in America, in Japan it showed a M****r scene where it showed a c***k o*****e that's shaped like a toad and there is b***d splattered everywhere, that's why I hate toad and Nintendo eShop.

sounds cool. edit 2:54: I think it looks like it has great potential! I dislike that the games are a bit pricey but whatever. I think this is the best design to an eshop to date. waaaay better than the Xbox eshop (I have 6 Xbox's so I am allowed to judge the shop) if anyone at Nintendo sees this thanks for making it look so clean!

Glad to see the News tab is getting a considerable upgrade from the 3DS/Wii U one. It always felt so cumbersome to use there with the loading time, but here it seems like a far more organic part of the UI.

Were the old VC games connected to your Nintendo account? If so my guess would be if the same games are available for Switch you should be able to download them right onto the console at no cost
Logan I don't think you can. Nintendo doesn't support cross-console downloaded games.
It'll probably be a big discount each to transfer like it was with the Wii U.
I shouldn't have to pay 15+ dollars for all of my VC games in total from Wii to Wii U. Enough is enough

LOL, too bad for you. At least I can tell my grandkids I preordered the Switch. If you're getting it on holiday, you're missing out on a lot of fun games (BOTW, MK8 Deluxe, Sonic Mania, Splatoon 2, etc).

He seems to be under the assumption that there's going to be a bigger, better version of the Switch coming out some time during the holidays, when (unless I'm mistaken) nothing of the sorts has been announced.
That eshop is a massive improvement over what was on the WiiU. So clean and slick. Seems pretty responsive too.

Nintendo stopped working in Brasil, because of economy issues, about 4 years ago, and I don't think they got back there yet, but yeah, Eshop stopped functioning in Brasil too, as early as that happened...

No. The Switch is not backwards compatible at all. Which sucks. I thought they'd atleast have backwards compatibility with the Wii U Pro Controller. Unless they build a CD drive add on it's not even possible to play Wii U games on it since there's no place to even insert the CDs.

Krabbelgeddon Omega I remember back when the Wii U was coming out, a few days prior to it's launch, stores replaced all of the 3DS eShop cards with Wii U/3DS eShop cards, so I think that the cards will be replaced by launch

This eShop literally looks like you're browsing on the PS Store on PS4 for games, man! This could be an opposite version of P4's.
The UI layout has been used by nintendo ever since DS slightly different.... and that was even before there was ANY UI from Sony.
It literally looks just like the Wii U layout except the game title squares are larger and everything is a bit more modern instead of being kind of cartoonish. It still has your user image in the top left, game titles in the center and function buttons at the bottom.
