The Jerusalem Council: It Seemed Good to the Holy Spirit and to Us - Acts 15

In our text today, we see the earliest Church council as they discuss the issue of what it means to be a "Christian." In the earliest days of the church, the question was "Does one have to be Jewish to be a follower of Jesus?" In other words, "Does a Christian have to be circumcised, keep kosher, and follow the Mosaic law?" The council at Jerusalem deliberated over this issue by listening to the voice of God speaking through the Scriptures.
