I always learn alot from brother Monte. I don't understand how "abstain from anything strangled and from blood" means they must eat only kosher ??

Great explanation. Those believers were already in fellowship and acceptance with Christ by faith. However in order for them to be in fellowship with Jews they had to keep the three core practices of Judaism.................Fellowship with Christ is best for me....................Shalom

Yes. Pigs carry a lot of disgusting parasites, etc and they also eat meat if they want to.

Thanks for the great teaching on this. I am working on a paper for Jerusalem council and would love some resources that have a similar interpretation regarding lev 17 and 18 and the “heart of the Torah” in relation to acts 15.

One day an expert in the law stood up to test Him. “Teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?”
“What is written in the Law?” Jesus replied. “How do you read it?”
He answered, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’ and ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’”
“You have answered correctly,” Jesus said. “Do this and you will live.”

Kate E Yeshua quoted the two great commandments from Deuteronomy 6:5 and Leviticus 19:18! Yeshua is also the God of the Old Testament as well and yet the Torah still had to be kept even though the two great commandments are in Deuteronomy and Leviticus! The question is HOW do you keep the two great commandments?! The answer is in Matthew 22:40 which MANY overlook after Yeshua finished quoting the two great commandments!!! Yeshua said, "On these two commandments HANGS on the Torah and the prophets"!!!! Notice how Yeshua used the key word "HANG"! In other word's he's saying that the Torah are DEPENDANT on those two commandments! In order to accomplish the two great commandments you must keep the Ten Commandments including the Sabbath, dietary law's, feast day's etc... because these divine instructions "HANGS" on Torah. Note that it doesn't say replace.

That was a vision, and the meaning of that vision was given:
Acts 10:28 And he said unto them, Ye know how that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come unto one of another nation; but God hath shewed me that I should not call any man common or unclean.
Peter didn’t run out and eat a pork chop after his vision, it pertained to gentiles being now clean.

Nothing to do with dietary restrictions.
That vision that peter had was about God extending salvation to the Gentiles.
The unclean animals on the sheet that came down from heaven was symbolic for the Gentiles whom God declared righteous.
If read the context you'll see that peter afterwards sees the Gentile centurion come to faith in Jesus.

So you don't have to keep the Torah commands? That is heretical. If you are truly saved, Then you would desire to keep the Commandments of God, the Torah.
