  • This is a video of my HO Scale Model Carnival display I built. The display is 8' X 8' with about 60 to 70 moving models and numerous game, food, and backend joints. Also there are transport trailers for the rides, bunk house trailers for the workers, generator trailers with light towers on top, semi tractors, racked rides, custom show offices and custom living quarters for the show owners, all on the display. I used 4 MP3 players with speakers with different carnival sounds recorded live back in the 50's from the midway of one of the grand traveing carnivals of all time, Royal American Shows. I also have a custom contoller to operate all the functions of the display. The contols are built into a custom made wagon made to look like one of the old Show trailers that was loaded on a flat car when many carnivals years ago traveled by train. The lighting is mostly 12 V grain of wheat lights (clear, green, yellow, red & blue) along with custom EL lighting and special LED lighting.

this is absolutely fantastic. What I would give to have your set up. I think i would play with that more than i play with my kids. I am in love with this stuff. You are truly gifted! I want it all!

It's really nice. Are you modeling a specific park? Never scene a park like that. For a model well done. Realistically. Too many ferris wheels. The usually park starts off with the basic rides in one area including a ferris wheel. Each spot they go to is laid out perfectly to ensure customers go from one end to another. As they add on they will add a different style of ferris wheel. Whether giant wheel double ferris wheel or sky wheel usually being last being such a high dollar ticket. Food court always in 1 area which is somewhere in middle of midway with games on each side going to rides on each end. Being kiddy Rides in front. Then adding new attractions in back. And adding western saloon themed with scenes playing out. Love the action.

That Sky Diver was in the dark, that thing needs some lights like those other Wheels have. I've got a Sky Diver i built out of K'nex pieces & you can tell it's the ride. I've got to add the hills in between the cars & more eagles on the car's hoods. I have a few cars that have the eagles on them. 8 cars are glued, while the other 8 spin / roll...so it does have all 16 cars on it. Sits on a scissor-lift frame & i have the classic diamond Sky Diver sign on it.

Having trouble with my IHC carousel. Your display is amazing! Is there somewhere I can ask questions about assembling the carousel to make the gear turn the floor with the horses. Like what attaches the floor to the gear. I think I'm missing a part. You look like an expert to build such an amazing display. Beautiful!!!!

Where did you find the scrambler and tilt-a-whirl rides? the only ones I found are the rah models ones(which don't run) and the cummons ones(which cost an arm and a leg).

This is amazing!. I want to model a local amusement park called Kiddyland. It was torn down in 2012 to make room for a Costco!!
I met my wife at this park and I would like to model as much of it as I can. Where do you get you pieces. Do you know of any good websites that I can find info? Thanks
