HO SPACE WHEEL
This is the latest model I added to my display. I sold the Space Wheel I had. I’m very pleased with how the model turned out. This SW has several new features & upgrades.

This is a SW I completed & shipped to a customer in IL. I also built a custom base 9 1/2" x 9 1/2" x 4" that the model is mounted on. The base also houses two 110 V motors to turn the two SW's & the base also houses a 12 V AC transformer for the 32 lights on the 4 wheels.

CARNIVAL SKYLIFT 2

This is an HO Scale Carnival Skylift I built for someone. The course, including the trailers is 7' long. The trailers and towers are metal. There will be approximately 16 chairs on the Lift when it is complete. This is the kind of Skylift that a number of traveling carnivals use to carry with them to different carnivals & fairs.

This is my latest Eli Wheel. This model is different than my previous Eli Wheels. This model is all metal except for the wheel. The sweeps and hub on the wheel are scratch built. The outter rings are from an IHC Ferris Wheel kit. The seats are Cummons metal seats modified to fit the wheel. This model is very similiar to the actual ride that traveled with Royal American Shows in the 60, 70, & 80's. The color is different but the signage is a copy of the original signs. I built this model to sale. The model is hand built and the base, lighting, and wiring is all hand made.

It's really nice. Are you modeling a specific park? Never scene a park like that. For a model well done. Realistically. Too many ferris wheels. The usually park starts off with the basic rides in one area including a ferris wheel. Each spot they go to is laid out perfectly to ensure customers go from one end to another. As they add on they will add a different style of ferris wheel. Whether giant wheel double ferris wheel or sky wheel usually being last being such a high dollar ticket. Food court always in 1 area which is somewhere in middle of midway with games on each side going to rides on each end. Being kiddy Rides in front. Then adding new attractions in back. And adding western saloon themed with scenes playing out. Love the action.

Those traveling carnivals that come to the communities and have all those rides and amusements I don't think there wasn't a single ride from popular carnivals not in there!!
Amazing model but you need alot more people on the walking path. Lines in front of rides just a huge mess of people like a real carnival.
This is just like the State Fairs I used to attend. It brings back wonderful memories. Where does the chairlift model come from at the beginning of the video? Thanks for posting your display.
The 2 rides, the first in the background at 0:58 by the ferris wheel that goes upside down and the second at 1:16 in front of the booth called the Scrambler, are those kits or scratchbuilt?
I cant believe that the zipper exists in this scale. Pretty please with sugar on top would you post a short vid of it? Looks like it's hard to get to on your display.

@@skywheel52 is this HO scale? We have G scale trains. My son is 6 and we recently bought him a circus train and we've been adding to it. We currently use fisher price carnival/circus toys, however I would like to start purchasing more realistic pieces for his layout once we set up our garage as his train room. Ive been looking at Lemax but I think it is O scale. I am new to this.

Having trouble with my IHC carousel. Your display is amazing! Is there somewhere I can ask questions about assembling the carousel to make the gear turn the floor with the horses. Like what attaches the floor to the gear. I think I'm missing a part. You look like an expert to build such an amazing display. Beautiful!!!!

This carnival ride looks interesting I've have not been to a carnival in a few years
To my knowledge there was only one made that traveled on a carnival. It was purchased a few years ago by Drew Exposition in Augusta GA. They totally rebuilt it. It now travels on their show.

@@skywheel52 I'll have to try and find one. Second question: How in the world did you get the Comet Coaster to work? I've tried all summer to get mine to work, can't get it to go over first hill. You wouldn't be interested in finishing this for me - name your price!
Terry Diamond I used a small amount of furniture polish (Indust) on a small clean lent free cloth. Then applied it to the track, even the inside of the track against the curve to help with the friction as the cars make the curve. I then went back over the track to make sure it’s clean & slick. I also screwed down the base to my table. But only in a couple of places to aid with it being level. I found that the base that came with the coaster could be slightly bowed when you completely erect the model. I discovered this by applying hand pressure to the front & back of the model.
I love it! I wish I wanted a display.

Where did you find the scrambler and tilt-a-whirl rides? the only ones I found are the rah models ones(which don't run) and the cummons ones(which cost an arm and a leg).

How did you get the screaming sound effects?
Scott Knudson I found an old record 33 1/3 album of a carnival midway & all the sounds from the 1950’s. I had the record played & as it played it was dumped into a video/audio computer and had it digitally recorded. Then I put the recording on several small MP3 players that were spread around my display with different sound tracks playing.

vegasdavetv There is an assortment of models that were in different stages when I got them. Some were finished models, some were partially built & I completed them, some were fabricated & I assembled them & did the paint schemes, some were kits I built, kit bashed, & some were scratch built. I did a good bit of the paint schemes. The support trucks & trailers I painted & did the graphics in water slide decals or on photo paper that I cut out & used a glue stick to attach. I did all the grass, walkways, shrubs & trees.

As the video moves along you’ll notice the sideshow is on the other side of the bumper cars. The other two side shows are around the 3:01 mark of the video.

James Dunn I never worked with a show. I just loved the carnival as a kid. I would stand for hours & observe the rides, equipment, trucks, & the carnival art. I guess I etched the images in my mind. Glad you like the display. Thank you
