Same here, I think Alex will be a star in country music, whether or not he wins Idol. This is the kind of music that "country music" has been missing for the last 40 or 50 years. It's shameful that modern country radio stations don't play the older stars, especially the real deal stars! When I saw Alex on Idol, the thing that impressed me the most, beside his singing, was the comfortable way his stage presence showed through, so impressive for a young performer. Wonderful!
I haven’t watched for years either. Alex deserves to win it all. This young man needs a big break, the world could sure use a young artist who embraces country and bluegrass music roots! I would love to see the young banjo player join him in his musical future they make a great pair.

He sure is plucking them banjo strings nicely. One of my best friends growing up in east tennessee could play the banjo pretty good. His father CE Sykes grew up near Richlands,VA. CE was one very good bluegrass musician.

I haven't even bothered to watch any more of AI after hearing Alex. Talented you man. Also a very talented banjo player with him.

I'm an ol Kentucky boy still at heart and soul born and raised in a rural Pulaski County area between Somerset and Burnside... I was born in 1957 and lived there the first time for the first 16 years of my life AND later going to college there and had a couple of businesses there including a Corp. This is the type of music that I was used to hearing around there all the time... Several of my friends played music and several had bands there... I've been to Renfro valley many times AND so happy it has only grown through the years AND the fact that they put the Kentucky music Hall of Fame there. May God continue to bless and protect you and I hope to hear more from you really soon AND I hope you win American Idol but regardless of win or lose I'm happy that you're getting the well deserved exposure...
