The cast of MadTV from like 98-03 was absolutely brilliant. At the same time nothing taken from anyone before or after. But that core cast in the mid seasons were all brilliant and underrated comedians.
I'd have bought them all 10-15 years ago easily. Never understood why that happened. Really bugs me when only the first few years of a show get a DVD release and then the sales don't justify them continuing. There are some shows that had DVD sets printed and audio commentary recorded and then they get tied up in legalities and never get released at all and just sit in a warehouse crate for the rest of time. Really sucks. I've wanted the last season of The Adventures of Pete & Pete for like 15 years, it's been held up in that exact situation.
Yeah, they pushed the envelope a little too hard for this PC climate. Comedy has to push the envelope/shouldn't be condemned for going overboard if people are still laughing. I mean, porno is more acceptable than this nowadays.
Unfortunately, the woke crowd would never let MadTV get away with all the racial sterotypes. Not allowing us to laugh at each other's differences and similarities has made the divide between the races so much wider.

I spent a holiday with him and he is the best, i laughed morning evening and night, because he is like that all the time. We would walk down the street and he would howl and whistle at the construction workers and rank them as the most f...able from 1 to 10, or we went to a bakery and the lady in front of us who really was taking forever to order two croissants turned and apologized for being slow and he said "that's ok we all have at least 40 years left, you are the one wasting precious minutes over bread". He was terrific because he's got no filters and so he says it as he thinks it which is so refreshing.
Everyone was terrific on MADTV, but to me Michael McDonald was especially hilarious. And I'm talking about all of his characters in addition to all his Stuart sketches. Just hilarious!

The Lilian Vernon gameshow skit was the funniest thing ever, they did a really good job of parodying the over the top energy of late 60's and 70's game show hosts. Really funny characters, they bring a funny skit to life and make it even funnier through their performances.
Omg Stuart and his mom were my favorite!! You could always see them two trying not to laugh out loud when in character saying their lines lol...Total classic TV before everyone started to get offended by EVERYTHING!!!

Lorraine was always one of my favorites. My eight-year-old son had seen the clips. We ran into a lady who was walking around the store coughing just like that and mumbling to herself. My son grabs my arm and yells “oh my God dad it’s Lorraine“.

Damn I miss this show. Funniest sketch show of all time IMO. SNL, Kids In The Hall, Monte Python, In Living Color, ScTv- they were ok and funny. But MAD was DANGEROUSLY funny. They took it all the way. The writing, the characters, the performances, the chemistry, the celebrity impersonations and representations- they did it all right on a razors edge, with a wink and a smile. Loved it so much.

I used to say there was nobody that made a better pair than Michael & Mo Collins. The comedy Combination of the two of them is Outrageously funny. But the more I see Stephnie Weir and Michael McDonald skits i realize that they worked great together. And were just as funny as Mike & Moe , . There was a lot of talent on that show. they were all very funny comedians. Nicole sullivan and Parker were great as well. they were all funny.

It might not have been a real gameshow but Lillian VERNON was very much a real mail order catalogue in the 80s (possibly earlier) n 90s that sold ridiculously useless ovelty items like these..toilet golf.. musical toilet paper rolls n things like that haircut umbrella thing which was an actual item! The catalogue is what they are really making fun of! I remember my grandmother getting them in the mail n she would give me a red pen n I'd circle all the kids items n toys I wanted that u couldn't find in stores. I have to say some of the items were pretty cool though. She would buy them for me a lot of the time! I always looked forward to Sunday dinner at my gmoms n the new Lillian Vernon catalogue 😂

Mo Collins is so underrated trying not to laugh but still pulling it off FUCCN LEGEND!!! as are many of the cast members this would not fly today and that's a very sad thing being that no one really paid attention to this show smfh how America lost it senses of humor and thank God we have re-runs , thank you
