I think the beauty of Miss Swan is that she's always trying to blend-in but her strong accent (and a possible hearing handicap) keeps her alienated, though she never gives up, because she loves the U.S.A. ... and we love her!
I always thought that accent was pure fiction, but there was a filmmaker a few years ago who interviewed her Asian aunts who were raised in Hawaii and I swear, all of them sounded exactly like Miss Swan. It's a peculiar combination of accents.

Of course me being the only girl I wanted the girl movies like Life Size and my brothers always wanted TMT or Power Rangers. I miss it! Now you hop on Hulu, Netflix, and other streaming services it’s no joy anymore

The worst was if a cassette had a wrinkle somewhere in it and the VCR "ate" the tape and then you try to eject it from the machine but the result is a godawful tangled up mess. I do not miss that, LOL.

And its funny to remember how exciting it was to look through the tapes to try and find something that looked interesting, and it could be either good or bad or something inbetween. You member? I have 3 boxes of VHS and I still use VHS to record things from TV. My over the air decoder box can record to a USB stick but it causes the decoder to freeze. So I prefer to send the signal to my VHS machine. Digital technology sucks big time.

Even in the 90s they still had 47 cent Tuesday rentals (including new releases) and plus free popcorn I mean can you imagine 2 movies and a popcorn for a buck these days.
