- Strife interviewed the prince, Ken Swift, on November 24, 2012. The original interview lasted 2 hours. We will be releasing the interview in segments such as this throughout the month of November and December of 2012.
Thank you McMaster University in Canada for giving us the opportunity.
filmed and interviewed by Daniel Zhu. STRIFE.TV
I've done more of these than I thought, but the musical instrument aspect has helped me the most. DJ stuff got me to learn the music and culture better, but playing instruments has been invaluable to my rhythm. I'm glad that he's not listing stuff like, travel to BOTY or R16. He's realistic and down to earth, knowing that even with limited means, we can enjoy this dance and culture. Mad respect. I hope you did a bunch of these interviews.
Much respect to the Bboy legend him self ken swift.
Great interview Strife! Thanks to you and Ken Swift for sharing knowledge!
respect... to Ken Swift, Crazy Legs, and Rocksteady,,, true GURU's of B Boying

Respect is number 1
Big Respect To Ken Swift, One Of My Inspirations & Cats I Look Up To!

The man is on point. A hip hop street scholar.
Hey Strife, are you guys planning to release more segments or even the full version in the near future? I'm really craving some more wisdom
Trueee!!
Your Puma Clyde's, will always live on.

Very good video, I never tried DJ. I think I should now that he suggested it, I think I'll like it! :D
This was a good question
In regards to #6, come to the Bboy History Channel and learn a thing or two. Always looking for new videos to add.
Words from a wise and experience Bboy. Who came from the humble poor . If you want to success hear the advice don't throw to trash watt can help you later on in life.
Sincerily
Bboy D-tex..... peace!
now this a true Pioneer ..but even he admits they were b.boys before him only true legend's say this.
. 👍 😎 🎤 🎼 He was a DJ before being a B Boy? I didn't know that. He must've been Grand Wizard Theodore age, literally, a kid. . 🎼
I guess one of the things I regret the most is that I haven't talked and shared enough with this man when I met him
yes
dooope
The godfather of breaking culture!
Hmmmmm It's almost the end of December, should we expect a massive spam of this interview, strife? hahaha
Prince Ken Swift should become King Ken Swift.
so true haha, I understand you bro
Couple of those things shouldn't be bucket listed....they should be being done already. A bucket list are things people want to do or see before they die. Respect in music should be an every day thing for anyone in this dance. So scratch that off your list and just do it. Respect to the Prince! Good words Kenny.
People see dress fresh as dress as whats hip, or wear whats trending, fresh is what you feel good in, when you wear an outfit and you're like yo I feel fresh as fuck. Whether what you're wearing is trendy or not doesnt matter, its all about you, and obv if you can break in it. Then again, thats just my opinion.
A legend
awkward cough at the end
Don't forget graffiti and MCing, can't be a bboy without that stuff
#HipHopCulture
you dont need to do those things to be a bboy :P
bboyfocused He's talking more in line of being an actual part of hip hop meaning a real bboy, most "bboys" today are clueless about the history of hip hop as a whole and are'nt well rounded in other elements of the field and so when it comes to bboyn they're dry without flavor, they ignore the beat, don't stay in tune with the beats, they barely uprock before throwin down, they don't transition off of the basics before going into power moves, lack true flavor etc. That's what Ken is reiterating, real hip hop=real bboy.
I've been bboying for 5 years, never done neither of those things.
i was being sarcastic lol
***** oh.. Yea, I'm bad at internet sarcasm
God made me funky
Horrible camera angle.
