    I’m so glad you are still posting while overseas and I really enjoy seeing how you cope with getting your furniture finds from A to B.
    I think she’s beautiful! I always love typography in mixed media especially when it’s unexpected. An old regal chair with an equally regal queen and then the pink/gold lettering is an inspired and wonderful touch. And please continue dropping your pearls of wisdom during your vids. Now I know why some pieces with transfers don’t appeal to me! They are floating and often displaying as they are printed on the sheets. I prefer your method of grounding the transfers and layering! Thx, great tutorial! I have a chair very similar to that but without any upholstery or leather right now. I’m ready to give it a go! 💕💕👏👏

      Thank you so much for your kind words and your continued support. I wasn’t sure how I’d be able to make painting work once we moved but I’m so happy I did because it definitely is something I need to do.
      I also love typography and I love juxtaposition, especially street and fancy. It’s why I’d love to learn how to do graffiti lettering.
      Definitely give your chair a go!

      I did do basically the same design on both sides. The flowers and flower placement are different but they are all from the same transfer. I knew I wanted to put words on the chair (something I’ve been wanting to do for a long time) so I searched for the quote first before starting the project.
      Once I had the quote I decided to do the front and back of the chair the same. I knew there’d be a lot going on with the paper, paint, stencil, transfer and words and I thought for continuity of design it was best to do the same on the front and back. Although her face faces different directions. The paper comes in a right facing and a left facing and I had both.

I appreciate you actually planned for your phrase--meaning left space for it instead of squeezing it in as an after thought. I love the layers of decoupage paper, flowers, and stencils and words. Love the fabric on the bottom. Just perfect. Artsy, interesting, well done!

    This was just amazing! I want to try decopatch on my leather chairs. Can I just get my print on a normal A4 paper sheet n decopatch it on the leather? Would it be durable?

    • @JunkdUp
      @JunkdUp  Před 2 lety

      I have had the best results doing decoupage with tissue paper or paper specifically made for decoupage. It’s thinner. Regular A4 paper sheets I think will be too thick to glue on the leather. The thicker paper won’t be as flexible as a tissue or decoupage paper. As for durability- I wouldn’t do this on leather chairs that get heavy duty every day use. I think it’s fine for an accent chair but not for something you will sit in every day. I hope that helps.

  • @lesliebochat5565
    @lesliebochat5565 Před 2 lety +1

    How is it wearing? Wondering about durability. Can you use modge podge instead?

    • @JunkdUp
      @JunkdUp  Před 2 lety

      The chair isn’t a high use item so I can’t vouch for durability. I would tell anyone doing this kind of technique on a chair that the chair should be an occasional use chair and not something you’d flop on to watch tv.
      I’m sure you could use mod podge.

    How long do you allow drying time between coats. The paint doesn't smear off ??? I love it

    • @JunkdUp
      @JunkdUp  Před 11 měsíci +1

      Dry time between coats really depends on what I’m painting. I really like to let coats dry overnight if I can.
      The paint does not smear off provided it has had ample dry time. Anytime paint comes off while you are applying a second coat it means either you have a problem with adhesion because of improper prep or you didn’t give your paint enough to dry. Paint will dry from the top down so even though it may look and feel dry pretty quickly, it is best to let it dry thoroughly so it can properly bond with the substrate.
