Don't worry, it's only a clock... but it's still shocking! And Tommy is at: Facebook: / tommy.wylie.18 If you want to support this channel: www.paypal.me/TommyWylie
I have no idea what was running through the person's head when they painted it. It confuses me why people think painting their clocks garish colors is a good idea. I saw a Howard Miller grandfather clock in an antique store that had been chalk painted light gray and dark blue BY THE ANTIQUE STORE. It quite literally made me gag.
The only thing that would make this video any better would be you turning up with it on antiques roadshow and asking for a serious valuation because of it's 'rare colour!'
I remember seeing a Japanese channel that would paint clocks WILD ass colors. I saw one with a white leopard print, an orange one, a neon green one, a blue one… they’re kinda pretty but also kinda odd…
I'm standimg right next to a painted longcase clock, and I think it's grinding it's gears when it sees the... "professional repainting" of the case of the HAC clock that you got... It is really nice besides that :) Happy (early) new year, Tommy!
Well it's not the most hideous clock case I've seen I have a wag on the wall clock which when I bought it the case was painted a hideous neon blue. (Personally I would strip the paint off)
@@TommyWylie I didn't think ansonia made ogee clocks either but the paper and the movement say ansonia clock co. and what's even weirder is it doesn't have the usual plate shapes that an ansonia movement would have, the plates look more like plates off a Seth Thomas or Waterbury
I had one of these in a bright PINK. Happily its back to all of its old shine again
If I remember correctly you have a pink cuckoo clock too don't you? :)

im trying to buy a German bim bam box clock that's painted a HIDEOUS teal color, obviously getting stripped to the original wood
They always paint them the worst looking colors. Don't they?
@@kansasclocksandsirens seriously tho
I like the color but I think conserves the color in an antiquity is better because is everytime harder find them in his original way

I expect I will eventually... there are so many other projects I want to get completed first though!
@@TommyWylie yeah there are a couple of clocks I want to start working on especially my ansonia ogee clock
