- My hot air station went on fire!! So needed a new one,
Saw this on AliExpress, only needed the hot air station so the soldering iron is a bonus I probably wont use much but nice its there.

I have been using one for a while now. No issues so far. I'm pretty impressed by it. Slightly different model though. But very similar from jcd

I have an older version of this station for 3 years, JCD branded but same model, zero problems and I use it constantly.
That's good to hear thanks. My previous one was a no name which lasted a while, I didn't treat it very well which probably didn't help!

I know, I have gone from using all the same equipment for the past few years to getting new stuff in a short space of time!
Didn't really want to buy a new one of these but my old one went on fire :)

@@Gabo99 No my old hot air gun went on fire, it was a very cheap one bought many years a go, managed to get some action footage of it burning so will have a video up in a week or two :)
There will be grit voltage on those round connectors, that's really dodgy.
I am also using this product and I wonder what temperature and wind speed you recommend when using HOT AIR GUN in SWITCH.
Really depends what you at doing. My temp normally set at 400-450 for most things, again wind speed normally on 90% but down if holding small parts that could fly off but like I said depends on the job.

I was writing about 3-40% at about 400 degrees, but as in your video, the FLUX didn't boil, so I put it on for longer, but I think it's because the wind direction was weak. I'm trying to repair the same parts, but when I put them on for a long time, the white lock breaks or the parts bend. I'm already trying two and I'm putting them together now, but I hope they succeed this time. (switch lite left)
Looks like you melted the hell out of that new port. The top left area of the board is also burnt.
Not as bad as your trying to describe but I am getting to grips with it better now.
Good stuff 😉 Some people hit those ports from the other side of the board. Less chance of melting the plastic that way supposedly.@@fixingmoddingbuilding
i bought this and it came defective, i couldn't even return it and get my money back. also the soldering iron that came with it wasn't even getting hot aswell,and then i bought replacemnt hotair gun for it and it didn't work again so i think i might just save up for a more expensive ones.
i have a unit like this one but the problem i have is the rework station isn't working like when i click the on switch it doesnt display but the solder one is functioning properly do you know how to fix these??? thanks.
I opened mine recently as thought it was faulty but there's not much to see, might be worth looking to see if the led connections have come off?
Well i think i know what is the problem with my unit, because when i check the power pins only the solder responds and the rework one is dead... Maybe its on the switch itself...
Can we mount that station vertically? Im planning to mount it on the wall
It doesn't have any indents on the bottom to slide onto screws but I think it would be a good idea as the hot air gun slots in from the front or the top if it was upright.
You should have removed and cleaned the old lead free solder from the board.

That's annoying, might be worth looking for other sellers with similar item, I imagine they all come from the same place but many different sellers?
This cheap equipment can burn down your house and town 🤣 Buying equipment that uses outlets from ailex is an adventure.

that wasn't from Ali that was amazon, most of these are coming from the same place just get here in different routes.
I know what to expect for the price, it's about being sensible and careful.

yeah i bought one of these and it came defective nd i couldn't get my money back sadly, also i bought a replacement hot air gun for it and it still never worked this thing is a really piece of crap
