- If you are looking to buy a Neopixel lightsaber you will see there are many options. Today I go over two of the most popular: Proffie and Xenopixel Lightsabers. In this comparison video, I go over what is Proffie and Xenopixel. I compare the differences in the features that you get with them from factory. And finally, I go over briefly the differences in how you modify the sound fonts and blade effects.

Proffie just sounds like a lotta tedious work for too little fun, while Xenopixel is a good compromise between casual fun and very good quality for the price!

Proffie is still the best for me! All the functions and styles are amazing! And also, everything shown on the Xenopixel board, proffie is perfectly capable of doing all that as well. Great video! Thanks!
Than you! I prefer proffie as well. And yes Proffie can do everything that the Xeno can do except the Bluetooth and making adjustments on the fly. But I like that I can do pretty much anything I want with a Proffie and I am not confined to what comes stock.
@@HyperdriveStarWars Yea, the Bluetooth functionality looks great! But proffie can get Bluetooth as well, it just requires a separate chip in it.

Thanks for the video.. Been looking for a saber for my office decor and was wondering the differences between these 2. I know it's overkill for just a display piece and not a dueling piece but you never know when I want to do some practicing with the saber. looks like Xeno will be my choice do due user friendliness.

Cool tutorial video 👍😎 I recently got the Anakin EP2 Proffee from NSaber but the LED on the power in button wasn’t turning on so they sent me a replacement but sent the wrong size so they are now sending another on hopefully the right size🤞🤞

Xenopixel is really a board for beginners and people who are on a strict budget. Options such as Crystal Focus 10 and Golden Harvest v3 put direct competition to the Proffie board. They are as you put it more "detailed oriented" than the Xenopixel and offer a lot of settings and features that come real close to Proffie without the extra steps and learning curve. Those are my go to boards. I have 3 sabers with CFX and 2 with GHv3.

I just ordered a ready to ship sabertrio and its coming with proffie. Im no computer guru and i dont even have a computer...so it should be interesting to learn all my saber's capabilites going in completely green.
im a sabersmith that specilizes in proffie installs and I have to say it is a learning curve but it is well worth it. It trully is the best of the best. Works grate, allows for additions like monters in the saber, or display screans. So it I had to give a recomendation I would say for a beginer get a CFX since it is a bit easier to work with, then go try a proffie. I recomend comunicating with somone so that you can get 1 on 1 guidence on how to program exctera, but once you try proffie its hard to look at other boards the same way again.
How do you find the speaker on the xeno v3 vs the proffie? I think the v3 sound is nowhere near as good as the v2, and mine has just cut out completely, not sure if board fault or speaker is blown :(

No, Neopixel and Xenopixel are not synonyms. Neopixels are all lightsabers with LEDs installed within the blade itself. Xenopixel's are a type of install that uses a Neopixel blade, but have more limited features compared to other options.

Just ordered one with Proffie but now I'm kinda worried that I should have gone Xeno 😅
I'm good on computers, but really don't want to invest a lot of time in programming my saber, and when I do add things, I'd prefer it to be fairly straight forward...
Does Proffie come already programmed to some degree?
I did bought the proffie one as a 1st neopixel saber. Still trying to learn how to work on it. But at the same time, I'm trying to pick up the SN-Pixel V4(Mando 2.0) or Xenopixel V3 saber(Kylo Ren) But it seems the Xeno V3 is still patching with the buggy issues. Proffie is the high-end.. but I'm also curious with those two would work as well.
I still love Proffie the most. I think its because I have gotten used to it, and I am not one that makes adjustments on the fly like that. I prefer to set it the way I want it and leave it that way. But the Xenos are pretty dope and fun to use.
I’m incredibly new to this saber game. Bought my first hilt with a xeno3 setup. Now If I was to really get into, is it possible to remove the xeno3 and swap a proffie into it if down the line I decided to take that plunge? Is that a typical thing that’s possible?

I'd probably just buy a new core with the proffie board and install it into the casing I'm using instead of trying to swap the board itself.
I'm mostly proffie board fan. I don't have the programming skills needed to truly make the customizations, but know a couple people who I work with that dabble in it, so, it's not for the faint of heart to play with software wise.
Xeno pixel works well and for 9/10 people they'd be perfectly fine with using it and have easy ability to change/add fonts or change blade colors and effects. Plus, it's easier on the wallet.
I have both of those, plus other board types not generally found that much anymore, but would say, going Xeno board with your first neo pixel equipped hilt is not a bad choice.
Just remember, if you're going to alter the fonts, by buying different fonts or creating your own, make sure to back up the micro sd card to have a copy safe so if you mess it up, you can recover.
Oh, I forgot. I don't use the blue tooth functionality because for me, it's just an extra battery drain. Just my opinion though.
Where can I buy a proffie board at? I'm looking for that so I can replace my xenopixel with the proffie saber internals. I have a xenopixel currently that I customized the hilt of.
I brought the neopixal darth Revan saber and neopixal Jedi Revan saber from Nsaber was really happy with them and was looking to buy another saber. But there is so many website, just wonder which website you would recommend using?
I like Nsabers, Artsabers, and Vaders Sabers. I know I review from a lot of different companies, but thats because I shop for the best price and speed of delivery. The price can vary from site to site.

I have a proffie saber, but it’s too complicated for me to figure out. I just copy and paste files from the fonts I want to existing fonts on the saber. I just recently ordered a xenopixel for better ease of use. I’ve tried multiple times to figure the damn thing out, and no dice.

I would say they are pretty close. Proffie is probably just slightly better because you can dial that in more with the programming. But its almost not noticeable.

I picked up a darth maul sn pixel v4 and i really don’t get much of the point of proffie lol if ur really into customizing I get it but for me, 90% of the time im using standard darth maul settings lol

In that case, yes, correct. If all you care about is a prop, don’t waste money or time on a proffie.
Just get a xenov3 if you don’t want to edit the minute details

The Bluetooth is only available for Xenopixel v3 lightsabers. You can buy Xenopixel v3 lightsabers from most of the lightsaber companies I have mentioned on the channel. You just have to check the options that are available when you go to purchase it.
Looking at either xeno obi-wan epi 1 or xeno ahsoka clone wars lightsabers. This would be my first lightsaber outside of a Disney parks replica. Thoughts or suggestions on picking a xeno from one of these companies saber theory, padawan outpost or neosabers?

Whats the Best blade lenght?
It depends on your height. I like to use a blade no longer than the length of my arm. It makes it easier to handle

Wish my son had seen this before buying his saber - the Proffie he got Sucks, and nothing promised is even preprogrammed. We definitely don't have the time to waste with all the nonsense customizing...gonna trade it for a Xenopixel for sure. 😅
