Nice video, I have subcribed to your channel. Question, did you use a conversion kit and the Indomitus box set?
i think with the leak of the set the lion is coming in, this video is going to have another well deserved jump in views! keep up the amazing work pete!!
after how they handled Lion Guard well...
He quite literally retitled the video so, yeah wouldn't surprise me
I somehow missed this one. I don't paint or play, but for some reason Pete's channel along with Eric's hobby workshop, scratch bashing and others are very entertaining. Hobbyists are very clever people
Indeed this video aged like fine wine!
he predicted the future, a true prophet
This video was a head of its time
I noticed the Indomitus Lieutenant has a key on the back of his shield. I found that to be a cool Dark Angels detail :D
Would love to see how you painted the mini
? @6:29?
As in the steps he took
Pete, I'm not sure if you've simply sold your souls to the Dark Gods or are an Astropath of great renown, but whenever I'm faced with a dilemma in converting you always produce a solution on *the very same day*. Cheers for always having helpful guides, and most importantly keep up the amazing work!
Or maybe it's just "Great minds think alike"? You're very much welcome and there are lots more to come!
Recommended to me at the perfect time.
Gotta say, after seeing it on a couple of the streams, and now on vids, loving the new Thumbnail style! And awesome work as always on the mini!
Glad you like them!
Glad this video exists since GW have decided to just put plain Bladeguard Veterans in with the Lion model and I wanted to know if my spare Deathwing Terminator parts would be any good to use
Wow!! That Deathwing model is awesome! I'm definitely following those steps when I get my hands on this kit because this is perfect.
Great Job.. greetings from Vienna🇦🇹🇦🇹
Not only is it a very well done conversion but the base construction and painting just make the model look outstanding! Great work Pete.
Thank you very much!
Awesome conversion! Was hoping someone would do this so I have a basic start point thank you!
It's time to put this tutorial to use !
Nice! Can’t wait for my box set to come. Will definitely be trying this and the ravenwing conversions! Thanks!
Hope you enjoy it!
Planning on painting my existing and (hopefully) indomitus space marines as DA's for 9th so this will come in handy, great job as always
It's looks amazing! I plan to do the same but with Wolf Guard bits, as the Bladeguards are not very wolfy by themselves so I'll be adding Wolf Guard terminator stormshields, runic blades and some more. What do you think? Maybe you come up with an idea to convert them too!
Maybe give him a runic axe it is more Space wolfy ,and remove the dress .I am not sure but Any Space Wolf model has dress like bladeguard veteran
I'm planning on adding a small wolf pelt partially over the cloth at the front with a wolf skull over the belt area and similar stuff that you mentioned :)
I suggest using Wulfen shields, as they're bigger and don't have the terminator hands on them, just a suggestion.
I really wanna see Pete do a video for converting Space Wolves Bladeguard
You could make cool looking wolfen too.
That paint job is amazing 👌
Time to dust off my Phalanx Warders shields and helmets, or to grab some Templar Brethern upgrades. Either way, for Dorn! For the Emperor!
Now that Deathwing Bladeguard is an absolute feast for the eyes.
I used all the spare hooded heads from my Deathwing kits for the Primaris that came with Dark Imperium. Tempted to do the same with Indomitus stuff, but I'm more focused on Necrons. And I have an urge to do Blood Angels with the melee bois lol
Thank you for this one! As a Deathwatch player, this eases my mind on what I'm getting into with indomitus!
Happy to help!
Great video as always!
Hey man thanks for the videos I think there great. You started me out at watching the raven wing upgrade pack.
such phenomenal work! amazing video just subbed
Really cool done!
This conversion is so seemless it doesn't look like its been converted/kitbashed!!!! awesome!!!
Very spicy sir and that paint job....takes me back to the old 3rd edition force boxes I think they were called. Sort of the ancient predecessor of the start collecting boxes of today. If memory serves me they were more like the ones they do with Warmahordes based on a winning team or at the least point valued and built correctly.
Wow that turned out incredible!!
This is by far the hardest conversion, a good challenge
Dying to see a painting tutorial on how you get your bone color. Looks fantastic!
I can't wait to add Ravenwing and Deathwing to my Dark Angels!
Looks great! I need to know how you painted that green; it's lovely.
Thanks! I started out with Warpstone Glow mixed with Corvus Black for a base colour, although nocturne green would work too. Over this I added thin layers of Warpstone Glow to the raised folds and finished off with Moot Green.
Hey man, I love these conversion videos! I would love to see how to convert an inquisitor and inquisitor acolytes! Could you do that in the future or give me some tips?!? The inquisitation range is very bad and I’m so interested in making a detachment! Thanks
I was planning on doing something similar. Thanks for doing the "hard work" for me!
Haha, you're welcome
Another awesome video man and it's good to see Dark Angel's I was thinking about something like this..... But then I saw those Deathwing Companion fellas........It might be difficult finding the parts but their helmets & swords I think would look pretty cool.
...... Something to accompany Mr Lazarus anyway!
He looks awesome. Nice to see the shields can easily be replaced as I have some nice forgeworld Imperial Fist ones ready to go
Some Imperial Fists with slab shields would look awesome!
this is one awesome looking Dark Angels Marine.
Look cool.
I made one bladeguard veteran for my deathwatch. I took volkide gun from forgeworld iron father, shield from deathwach,
sword in sheath from old chaos knights and primaris body.
For a final touch I would also replace a blade with one of those DA specific. They have a distinctive look to them.
Great video.
Good call!
Ah that was dope dude!
That was an awesome job, sir! 👍🏻
Glad you liked it!
This aged well😂
Wow, he looks awesome!
Thanks!
Watching him remove the shoulder pads made my stomach clenche. Good thing it came out well
Same here!
Haha, because I'm covering it up with another pad I could get away with making some mistakes.
Thank you so much for this
You're so welcome!
Thank you for the video!
GW announced Indomitus is for people with some experience in the hobby, but all minis are push-fit? Just why?!
The box doesn't have a "how to get started/how to play" booklet. That's all the difference.
Picking up a blade guard lieutenant and a Load of bits, gonna use them for a chaplain, apothecary, librarian. And ofc the lieutenant. So excited to start salamanders :)
Deathwing Terminator Sergeant: Looks like a new batch of Shinies, brother.
Primaris Bladeguard Veteran: 'Shinies', sir?
Deathwing Terminator Apothecary: Your armour brother, it is shiny and new. Just like you.
Incredible kitbash there.. I made a video doing Space Wolf versions on these guys as well. But these are far better. 🤘
From one avid kitbasher to another, love the content as always.
My only side suggestion would be that I think it's probably extra work do do as much to the shield arm as you did here. You're already using mostly elements from the Termie kit on that side, so it seems more efficient to just do the full arm swap.
Just clip the pushfit tab off, edit off the power cord from the Termie arm and you're pretty much there. No shoulder shave or shield cutting.
There's no "right" or "wrong" way really though. Just a thought I had watching the video.
Keep up the great work! I expect the channel to grow a lot this year.
Thanks for the suggestion. I did a dry fit of that and have seen people attach just the terminator arm to the blade guard and the arm just looks ridiculously huge. Even if you tried to balance it by swapping out the other arm too it just makes him look like a gorilla 😂
This is 2 years old and we just got rumors of "blade guard" just being baldegiard veterans no upgrade we really need this now
At last..... Something that's right at home with the old style of Dark Angels!
This one is brilliant
The paint job this guy looks really good, especially the faded white armor. How did you achieve that look?
wow, that looks awesome =)
He looks so cool =)
You should do a conversion guide to make them look more space wolf. It would be cool to see your take on marking blade guard fit with the wolves of fenris.
That's the plan!
How prohetic were you with the new Lion box coming out.
Super helpful video for that. Thanks.
Hey Pete love your videos, I think a good idea would be to make either a assault intercessor or bladegaurd veteran into a sort of black Templar knight as that is basically what they are.
I've got some ideas for Black Templars, don't worry 😉
For the lion!
Great work, would love to see a tutorial for the paint job
Noted!
yes would appreciate paint tutorial
very cool
ironic that i get this video now
Any chance you'll be going a White Scar version of this? Would love to know how youd make them more like a son of Chogoris.
Many thanks.
I don't know if you edited this video with The Lion guard being released or if you just called them a lion guard 2 years ago. Very interesting 🤔
Yep... 🤔🤔
how did you know?!? HOW DID YOU KNOW!!???
Looks so much better with the pistol out of the way.
they would look even better with actual dark angel swords since they have an unique shape
Man, that bone colour is looking nice. I know it's been a while, but did you ever mention how you did it?
This video aged like a fine brandy
Maybe replacing the Shield Arm with the Terminator Arm is easier, but then again you'd have an Terminator Arm that might be a bit thiccer...
But well, that'd run deep with the asymetric Armourdesign theme you got going :D
I toyed with this idea but when I compared it against the body I found that the terminator arm was not only chunkier but also longer and it just looked plain weird.
3:36 dude please you're killing me just by a f****** size 15 blade already
Watched this for the second time today. Love the conversion. Question about the shield arm in hindsight: would it have been easier to simply cut the whole original shield arm off and replace it with the full terminator arm, without the armoured cabling? Or would that make the shield arm too bulky?
I toyed with this idea but when I compared it against the body I found that the terminator arm was not only chunkier but also longer and it just looked plain weird.
Very good
Thanks
Amazing work Pete! I actually been taking notes on some of your conversion and painting vids and applying them to some of my model kits. I've been wondering if you will ever take a crack on Gunpla? Would love to see your take on them!
I've looked at them in the past but never really taken the plunge, but maybe in the future.
Bandai's kits are modestly priced. Kotobukiya's kits are pretty cool too! Though, they are a bit more expensive. Anyways, keep up the amazing work!
Amazing work as always, I was wondering where your knife and hobby essentials are from?
The clippers are from Red Grass Games, the scalpel is a Swann Morton with A10 Blades and the file is from the army painter.
You should do a black templar bladeguard sword brethren conversion
Out of curiosity does this also work with Regular shoulder pads when trimming off the blank one?
Also ‘ I don’t like my neighbours so I will be solving this with my clippers ‘ 😂 ‘ I don’t my parents so I will be using my hobby knife for this because it’s nice and sharp ‘ 😅 - a warhammer kitbasher lol
hey pete! may i ask what colours you used for the green crest/robe
Love dark angels 👌👌👌👌👌👌
Nice conversion here but i would swap the sword too for one from one of the many DA kits
I like the head but in the DA veterans sprue there is one with "knightly" helmet that fits perfectly the Bladeguard look
The 30k Dark Angels helms and models would be great for conversions too
Would the robed heads from the Deathwing Knights kits fit the BGVs?
Loving the videos, would you be able to do a similar video for converting to black templars? Planning on converting mine and wondered if you had any tips
I've got some plans for the BTs, don't worry 😉
These guys are already Black Templar af
Over the course of 8th, I've seen plenty of people converting Aggressors into Terminators. Usually it's simple things like them just swapping out the arms and maybe the head, while others like to take the tools to the kits and swap out the chest region for a termie torso and back to further cement the look. I'm curious- what'd your take on it be?
Question's for everyone, by the bye.
I covered that topic in my very first live stream! czcams.com/video/XlHkUQC5ujk/video.html
@@PeteTheWargamer I must've forgotten, then! Whoopsie.
I hope you saw my bladeguard kit bash from r/the_unforgiven you inspired me to make them and now im dam happy you did your own bladeguard
What glue do you use?
Turning the blade guard into imperial blades would be pretty cool
Which flagellants kit would I be looking for to get that key?
only thing i dont like is the terminator arm pad but thats only minor, the rest looks great
Do you plan on doing a video on how to convert the Judicar? I don't like his head, the leather gloved hands, and how he doesn't have a right shoulder pad. I'm wondering if there's some sort of arm swap I can do to make him holding the executioner sword two handed.
Personally I'm going to use the shrike head, I saw a mock-up on reddit that made him look awesome. I'm not the biggest fan of the lantern, probably add a shield.
fits perfect to the other traitor legions
Thats a hilarious joke! Holy shit your creativity is stunning
2:44 how the heck did you trim the shoulder that smooth???😂
The last time I was this early, the fallen hadn’t fallen yet
i also wanted to convert the bladeguards, lieutenant and Captain with some Shoulder Pads and helmets, after i saw that the shoulder pads are already attached to the bodys and other parts i was kinda discouraged and sad. Seeing u replacing one of the shoulders yourself kinda gave me new hope to still do it, but im pretty new to 40k and have no real experience with convertig (cutting the piece like u and getting such a perfect sized result) so im still kinda scared of it. Does anyone have some tips how to cut things like that safetly without damaging the model? Also the shoulder pads i wanted to use are normal sized primaris shoulder pads so i would assume that i will probably have to cute more then pete did in the viedeo since he used a terminator shoulder pad
Love the video and great mini! Also, is it just me? Or are push to fit miniatures terrible?
I wish GW would release the "iconograpy shoulder pads" without the shoulder pads, just the icon. I'm sure they can manage something that fits perfectly on blank shoulders.
If they ever do expect to pay an insulting price for it.
I kinda wanna see these guys but manye with gravis armour instead with sheilds to look super bulky and tough
