- Eleven years after Paris Bennett stabbed his 4-year-old sister to death, their mother says she has forgiven him. "I hate what he did, but I can't hate my son," Charity Lee told Inside Edition. Bennett was just 13 when he stabbed Ella inside their home in Abilene, Texas. "I found out Ella had been stabbed 17 times and beaten and choked,” Lee said. “Basically my daughter was tortured." She said Paris doted on his little sister, but family videos show him shaking Ella's head when he was 10. #InsideEdition

@@tipopeyesna2527 I'd say that religion plays no role in this case. Everything happens for a reason but religion isn't one of them, at least not in this case. The kid was clearly jealous of all the attention his sister got and trust me these things happen more often than you think. In other countries it's no surprise that siblings to kill each other over attention. Most of these things happens because the parent is putting too much responsibility on the older child or they don't care much for it at all since the younger one was born. And it's completely understandable that a small child needs all this attention, but clearly the boy at the time didn't understand that. So no, religion plays no role in this. It's more of a coincidence rather than a punishment by a Godly entity and it should be treated as such.
I am no atheist so don't start making assumptions about my religious views. In fact, I'm an Omnist/satanist. Omnists believe in all religions but doesn't completely attach themselves to a specific religion. More or less, we prefer logic over false statements and we tend to distinguish religion from coincidence. But with the combination of [modern] Satanism I tend to view the whole situation based on logic and scientific reasoning. Very much like the Atheists, I prefer to stay neutral throughout a discussion since that's the right thing to do. If necessary I'll step in just to call out the differences between the argument and religion.

"Sibling rivalry"??? No, sibling rivalry is things like fighting over toys or petty competition. What he did was straight up psychopathic, and if the mom had gotten him help at the first signs of violence, this could've been prevented. Makes my blood boil, especially when my brother did and said some legitimately horrible things to me, and when I tried to tell somebody, it was just dismissed as "normal sibling rivalry." Well, when he reached adulthood, he was arrested for attempted murder.

He had been an only child for a long time and the world revolved around him according to everyone that knew him, but if he was predisposed to be unable to receive this love in the first place there’s no way he would be able to EVER feel satisfied with the attention . Therefore, if there is a change to the dynamic he demanded, no amount of attention would negate his perceived notion that there is ‘competition’ . He does however have one reason to be mad; his mother briefly relapsed with cocaine the year before he murdered . However, she had been sober his entire childhood prior by all accounts . What isn’t discussed here was that this was also a SEXUALLY motivated crime; he eventually admitted that he HAD been watching snuff films and hardcore pain pornography for hours before he murdered his sister . Additionally, semen was found on both the mattress and his sister’s dead body if I recall the actual report correctly .

Man I’m 15 and I have a 1 year old sister (turning 2 on October 16th) and I’d literally NEVER even try to hurt her. She’s my angel, and nobody will ever hurt her when I’m around, or they’ll suffer the consequences. I know that sounds cringe as hell but I don’t think you all would just expect me to roll over and accept someone hurting my sister.

I’m 13, and I have a little sister I love very much. I have struggled with ADD and severe anxiety, and I was diagnosed with depression, but never took any medication, as it went away on its own. I have had thoughts like this, but I would never ever in a million years do such a crime. My little sister is 9 and I love her dearly. She does gymnastics and she is amazing at it, and is also soon getting diagnosed with ADD. This hurts to even hear about.

I don’t think anyone can know what they would or wouldn’t do if it was their son that did this unless or until it WAS their son. As his mother said, she hates what he did but can’t hate her son. She lost both of her children that day. She’s clinging to the hope he will be different as a man. He’s the only child she has now and, after losing her little girl, she just can’t completely lose him too even though he is the reason why. As a mom, I have no idea what I would have done or how I would feel if my son had done such an unimaginable thing. I’m sure she is doing and feeling what she is in order to survive. No one should judge her if they have never walked in her shoes.

I’m pretty sure one can’t “accidentally” stab a baby sibling 17 times! While he verbally acknowledges responsibility, there’s an innate unchangeable type of evil that exists within a person to commit such a horrific act upon a young child EVEN if said act was committed at the age of 13.

This child knew what he did was wrong contemplated etc... they knew what would happen they knew the result. He even confessed he tried to kill her. At time people need to be held accountable for their actions. Child or Adult. I knew by the age of 10 how to kill etc... but i never did I choose not to because it is wrong we make our choices.
