Purchased for my partner in 2020 for university nursing studies, she aced all her essays and the laptop never failed her once, some of her class friends had MacBooks which she had always wanted so as a graduation gift i purchased one for her and now im a proud owner of the acer which i use for playing age of empires an old favourite of mine
I have had this laptop for 3 days now. My previous laptop is a 9-year-old Acer E1-531 manufactured in 2013 and I bought it 1 year after manufacture. Not enough time for a solid check but I can say this, haven't had any issues so far. Downside: No RAM upgrade, that's pretty much it for me. My old one had 8GB, which was the only thing that saved me up until 2022, and this is not really a downside granted that all I'm doing is office work. Upside: Everything else. Can't wait for my next laptop upgrade in 9 years again, ha.
I got this laptop a few days ago and everything is working perfectly except for the brightness regulator. The brightness is always all the way up even if I try to lower it with the buttons on the keyboard or even manually in the settings. The little bar thingy moves but nothing happens. Does anyone have an idea on how to fix this?
Your comment genuinely made me laugh :D This kind of things make me worried about the review quality and for how much we can rely on what's being said..
Great review, thanks! Why do you compare this affordable notebook with the Asus Zenbook?? (=low price vs. high price?) The Asus Vivobook is a direct competitor plus budget notebooks from HP, Lenovo etc. Leaves me speechless. I enjoyed the product showing part very much. Helped my purchase decision
@@Max_Shorts1 yes same , but i didnt buy this product for just one reason , it's that ram is not upgradeable . So i purchased acer aspire 5 a515 57 53T2 8/512 core i5 1235u , the only fact i dont like about this is that it olny lasts around 4 hours at power efficiency mode. And i dont know what to do :(
An amazing laptop! I was tired of expensive thinkpads and their fan noise. I am glad to buy Acer Swift SF314-512. Very satisfied.
much difference between 512 and 511? , just wondering

I guess next time you will upgrade earlier because hardware development makes much bigger steps forward at the moment :)
I ordered my Swift 3 today …
One of the best laptops ever made, and I mean it.
Do you have it?
No RAM upgrade makes me sad, but good battery life makes me happy. Seems like a decent laptop for my better half, actually.
8GB is more than enough for 95% of people.

Very informative, thanks!
You are welcome!
1:43 keyboard does not flex while typing 😉

He's showing the flex when you press down, which happens on all budget laptops. It's not going to flex like that when you type.
@@wuhanclan can't agree. I have 3 budget laptops of the same size 13-14 (2xAsus and 1xLenovo) none of them flex like that
I got Acer Swift 3 with Ryzen 7 series 5000, no complaints at all... I only wish the RAM memory was upgradable.
ssd upgradeable ?? i just bought it with 512 gb only
Great review, thanks!

Hello why there is just 250GB free space when first run? There is a lot of bloatware?
I wonder the samething
there is, you can remove most of it
idk about that, mine had 435gb free space on the first run.
Is there any sata 3 slot to upgrade storage ?
But whats the expiration date though
