    Thanks for the video, we'll put together and easy to follow. Just completed fitting a new oil line and filter. It's on the cardboard overnight, so fingers crossed. Thanks again.

    Thanks guys just done this with my saw, following your instructions, my only tips are use the end of a tooth brush to seat the pipe as it has no sharp edges. and if your short of a funnel cut the tip of a milk or squash bottle to use. thanks again

    Thanks Austin. I thought that I would have to remove the fuel vent and the handle to change the line but no. Well done.

    Excellent and succinct. I found it quite tricky getting the handle back in place.

    Useful video thank's, if you unscrew the spring that covers the oil pipe it will give you loads of room.

      Great tip "unscrew the metal spring, it comes off of the handle allowing good access to the oil pipe. Easy once you know how .
      Thanks for video & tips in comments below.

    FYI, I always put a little 1184 gasket sealant on all oil lines that go in an oil tank. This insures they do not leak in the future. I just put a little on the grommet sealing surface. It also helps it to go into the tank. I do the same thing on fuel lines that go into gas tanks. It keeps them from leaking, too.

      John, is this the 1184 sealant you were referring to in your comment? www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007TWXI1K/ref=ox_sc_act_image_1?smid=A1TFBK3C7LO58P&psc=1

      @@peterscaffidi5977 Pete, 1184 is Three Bond 1184. It is good sealant. You can get it off EBay. I use Playtex Moto Seal on clamshells and 1184 on everything else. I seal in grommets on oil lines with 1184 and fuel tank grommets with 1184, too

    Is the oil system adjustable for more or less oil

    • @austintovey
      @austintovey  Před 3 lety

      No, as the chainsaw runs at max output all the time. So there is no need to adjust this Stihl have designed to optimal flow providing the oiler system is functioning correctly
