If it get's away - "That! was a monster".
When caught - "Not as big as I thought it was".
This is too true 😂😂😂😂
WOW you guys had far better quality fishing than we did during that tournament . It was nothing but a slow, tough, grind for us all day. It was in fact miraculous that Pete caught the winning fish all things considered. Also good to see that the salmon red is producing and it wasn't just a lark. Great job as always guys! Now I can't wait to get out to Montauk!
On another note when I saw your splash well fill up with that boat wakes it made my stomach drop as I though about my not fully enclosed transom. I wish boaters would be more considerate of the other people that they're sharing the water with. People need to realize that when boating they're always responsible for their wake.
Just diluted all my gulp juice. John Skinner problems, lol. Enjoyable, informative video.
This was an amazing flounder fishing video, I wish I was there. Congrats on you catch.
I miss fluke fishing and the jersey shore so much. Nicely done! Thanks for sharing.
I was up on the bow that day on the MTS and seen you guys out there by us doing your thing. I love the videos, they helped me cope through winter, lol.
Skinner, you casually catch fish that exceed my personal best...you are legend!
I'm on good water this trip. Some recent trips 40 miles from here have been much less productive.
That was great to watch. Had some laughs all over again! Thanks John and everyone for a great day!!
Thanks for the excitement at the end. Start the boat!
Great job guys! Lots of quality fish over the rail!!!!
great vid ! miss fluke fishing bad had to move to midwest .keep em coming that's a wicked boat !
John!!! I watch you Monday-Friday (aka when I'm at work and not out on the boat catching doormats) keep on killing it dude! i love your content!
CZcams is the best. Great way to take up "down time"
I was at my local Dick's Sporting goods today and they had the Salmon red and Pink shine 6 inch grubs in the small containers with the liquid. First time I've seen those colors packaged that way!
Charles Harakal they are brand new from pure fishing dicks just got them.
Great fishing and a great group of guys makes a great trip. Thanks for sharing.
That's what it's all about!
Love your videos! I hope one day you do a contest to let one of your subscribers go fishing with you one day
Jigging Jerks are the best and the metal shark with all the John's and John Skinner it's on my bucket list and my daughter who has Lupus hopefully one day.I never miss watching
You totally fluked up that trip John!.

Awesome video fellas 👍🏼👍🏼
"what could go wrong" Oh no ! Great video, thanks.
Congratulations, beautiful video, it seems where I fish here in *Brazil.*
Stay with God and good fishing.
Hug!!!👍🎣😊
I’m telling you man salmon is going to become the best gulp for flounder in the next couple seasons
Nuke chicken all day!!! Haha
Ahhh this looks so much fun
“ somebody’s dad’s callin’!”
“ I don’t think the mailman has my
number”
that was funny
I can't believe you guys heard the mailman comment. My son and I always joke about that. I tell people my x wife was 6 foot and 250lbs.
@@johnsweeney1400 LMAO - Too funny....some of us have excellent hearing - the rest leaves a lot to be desired but the hearing is still in-tact!
Great video and fish
Hi John, bought one of those Daiwa reels form J&H, thought it was a better choice than the shimano calcutta, I will let you know.
I saw what could go wrong as soon as you looked out and saw those waves coming your way, amazing how that water just climbs up the transom into the boat. sorry you guys didn't win, the effort was there for sure. as always I enjoy watching your videos, much information to be had, thanks for posting.
@@peterk814 Still an asshole I see, all you post is hate, get a life.
Love the video!
great pullage on this trip - i like it.......what kinda speed does that baby make with twin 300's
Yes !
Nice going, Sween!!
Got lucky - Again :-)
@@johnsweeney1400 Take it!
I knew I'd see NET DRAMA !!!!!!!!
That’s why I keep a spare container of that gulp liquid in my garage. They sell the extra liquid.
atta boy John!!
Lmao I can’t take it rick freakin cracks me up!!!
Some pretty bad netting skills. Rick needs a time out!!
Great video, Mr. Skinner !
Professor Skinner
Hi John! What time do you wake up in the morning when you fish the surf?
John is there such a thing as a porgy lure for fluke? Might be worth trying...
they do sell the grubs in jars lol get with the times skinflute
I'm new to fluking (in Buzzards Bay MA.) and wondering if the drift speed is measured by gps - speed over ground, or by speed through the water column? Thanks for great videos - I have watched a lot of them and subscribed.
over ground
@@JohnSkinnerFishing Thanks for the fast reply! I will be buying your course today.
Was that boat wake in the beginning or an swell from hell
That boat is nice but doesn’t take water too good
Hi John. What would you say is a good minimum depth to start vertical jigging vs casting out from a boat or kayak? I was thinking that the last outing I was on that maybe the water was too shallow and the fluke were possibly spooked by the boat over them.
Around 4 feet
John Skinner Fishing Thank you John.
Damn I'm so jealous of that boat
Well the engines I mean
1,182/lb.....that's some expensive Filet of Sole for sure!!...Hahaha
Definitely pays for plenty of JS bucktails and 6" Gulp grubs!!! Along with plenty of fuel for the outboard/s...The winners are going to have a fairly stress free season.....:-)
What was the guy with the net doing lol
Be assured I didn't let them know , great day guys .
John do you still plan on using the maxel reel on the tsunami jigging rod this season ? Why dont you ise the maxel for fluke..
Yes, for bass. The maxel is overkill for fluke.
why was water staying in the boat?
Why did the deck stay so wet?
JS...there's several "blank spots" in the audio...when do we get to hear the "un-edited" sound track? ;-P
5:52
😮 nice 👍🏽
John, I know you have used the Nuxus and Tsunami spiral (acid) wrapped rods. Which do you prefer? Is the Nexus worth the extra 40$?
I do not like the Tsunami slow pitch for fluke, but love it for bass and blacks. The Tsunami Classic H with 4 inches off the tip is good through 4 ounces for fluke and is only $60. The Nexus H, trimmed 4 inches, is what I prefer for fluke because it handles the whole 1.5-6-ounce weight range.
@@JohnSkinnerFishing Interesting that you had to cut 4in off the Nexus for it to handle it's weight range. How well do the tsunami slow pitch handle their weight range? You should do a video comparing the two.
The tapers are very different.
@@JohnSkinnerFishing Good to know. Thanks for the info.
Would you recommend using the larger size gulp I believe 6” for shallow water fluking? I’m targeting big fish !
Definitely. If you have a reasonable shot at 5+ pounders, then I think you'll benefit from the larger profile.
Thanks👍🏻
What kind of boat is that?
I see the sea robbins at 8:55. What are they for? bait strips?
Yes.
Salmon gulp about to be sold out for the rest of the season after this video 😂
What lbs test is he using? I use 15-20 and I would not try to swing over 5lbs
We use 10-15#
Are you able to get a lot of reuse with the gulp?
It depends on the interference fish like porgies, seabass, etc. You can usually catch a few fluke on the same bait.
what reel are you using in this video?
It's a Daiwa. There's a link to it in the video description.
What kinda reel were u using
There are links to the reel in the video description.
Will someone answer that damn phone! @5:50
What could go wrong.....lol
Wow 13$k
Fluke Mastery FaThEr'S Day Gift?
Any discount for Father's Day?
Our daughter would like to buy it for her daddy. They love to watch your videos together!
I'm using his CZcams account to write this. Hope he doesn't read it and spoil the surprise! lol!
Not all the net mans fault, should have lifted that rod and pulled it closer to boat
First view!
Who’s handling that net!
Haha. Didn't watch it yet but laughing at how pissed Doc was.
Much better video without a certain abrasive persons commentary every 2 seconds. Keep up the great videos John.
EXACTLY . TAMPONS HERE !!
I don’t think the mail man has my number
Few men know that fish.
That's a flounder. The only fluke is that you caught it....LOL
Are you the only one who knows how to actually lead fish into the net? 😂
Wo, wo, wo. He's not the only one but we do laugh about who can and who can't.
John Sweeney that first one got me so bad hahah! People like to blame the net guy but the angler can’t just let it hang there!
If you don't lead the fish when Sweeney's netting, he'll grab your rod tip and do it for you! Seriously though, you point out something that's sometimes overlooked and important.
@@JohnSkinnerFishing Haha - so true. I still laugh when I was yelled at for grabbing someone's rod tip!
John Sweeney grab the line instead? Rod tip sounds so sketchy hahahah
Imagine a world where people have no clue how to net, but long arm every fluke. Throw the net man overboard.
Lol... New Yorkers
tourney day -- and no cutting board? ooofffaaaa....
Because we generally don't use bait.
What the heck? Fish in the net, nope don't want it.
My question as well
