I recently got the GW5000 and I sold most of my other G-shock watches. It's such a beautiful simple designed, well built and so comfortable to wear.
You should try adding the GMW-B5000 next. Spice up the collection again! Different experience.
@@gshockhighfashion Haha! that will be my next watch. I haven't seen that watch in person but I like the extra Bluetooth feature. I like this model GMWB5000G-1D but it has to be in my wish list for now as the wife has still been furious with my G-shock spending. Luckily I can get this model in Australia :) Thanks 弟!
I only just bought the DW5035D - because it's like having a piece of the past in a present time. Plus, I was born in 1983, and DW5035 is a homage to the original 1983 G-shock square - this made the decision even easier.
Also, take into consideration, that if you switch the original bezel and the band on a DW5035D to a golden version, it will look almost exactly like B5000 TFG, which is about 5-6 times the price of DW5035D. You get the feel and the looks of a luxury watch for a reasobable price.

I decided I NEEDED both the GW-5000U-1JF and DW-5035D-1BR.
both models are as close to the original 1983 release as you can get!
the 35th anniversary square, is The Enthusiast Collector piece. it basically embodies the Original Square. I have it on a Casio Combi bracelet!; awesome!
My GW-5000U is my Stealthy "Daily".
I really love the fact that it has the Multiband 6, automatic LED light and duration, DLC black Stainless Steel case, and the Premium rubber straps and buckle.
This model is amazingly comfy and aesthetically pleasing!
I'd choose the 5035. I just want a nice tough, well made yet basic watch.
I wish Casio made a version of the 5035 but for regular production. Casio needs a nice tool watch like their Original models used to be. The curent basic 5600 is okay, but its nothing like the older models.
I'm saving my money now for the gw-5000.... my g-shocks have to be solar and multi band 6 and I'm probably going to get the gw-s5600 I really like the exposed carbon fiber on band

I bought today my first g shock , the dw 5035-d . I bought it bc it’s limited edition and it’s something unique and it’s my good luck that I found it .
Got them both :) And I don’t miss anything in the DW-5035D. I bought the GW-5000 to have an ordinary JDM G-Shock. Very happy!!!

I just bought a gw5000u. I like it a lot. Solar is a must have feature for me, and the atomic synch comes in handy as well. I would highly recommend this watch if you're looking for a square.
Well... as I said before I bought my GW-5035A 3159 when I was in Japan last October-November and I'm wearing it here in Sydney everyday and I love it. I use an iPhone app every month to simulate the atomic clock in Japan and it works very well. Thanks for your great chanel.

GW-5000 and DW-5035 are both nice. Currently wearing the DW-5000MD
i was lucky enough to find a year old but pristine gw5000 locally for around $120 a few months ago. the quality is amazing from the resin bezel/strap to the dlc case.

Enjoy your videos. What are the tricks you mentioned to keeping water protection? Pretty rotted I took a luminox to get the battery changed and now it fogs up... also have you ever made any frankenstein gshocks? is there a way to buy that little reflective grate from 5035 by itself?
Well not really tricks, just apply more grease at every gasket, from glass, buttons and backplate. Then blow dry the interior with hot air, plug back the module and close the backplate. Not as easy but it works.
Technically you could use anything as a background, aluminium foil, metal sheets, color paper, as long as it is thin enough to fit. I have no idea where to buy one exactly like 5035 but perhaps one could try DIY that instead.

Do you know what the VT at the end of some DW5600 stands for?
Can't seems to find an answer for it. It does seem to me that this is only found on special and limited edition G Shocks, in particularly those collaboration pieces, and only, as far as i know, the 1545 modules.
I believe I already talked about this a little before.
DW-5600VT is the same as DW-6900FS which means they’re made in Japan.
If you look at the back plate of every DW-5600VT, you’ll see that they all have Japan stamp at the back unlike other non-VT which will have Thailand or China back plate.
When you google these VT series, you’ll ONLY find collaboration releases, because Casio made them for that purpose. Just to make it special unlike other low end squares. It gives it us a sense of premium when we pay extra to get these collab models as well.
One more note: Most of the time VT square will be released only in Japan or with Japanese brand collab and hence making them more collectible too.
