In 2016, the Julian Abele recognition committee chose to honor the
African-American architect who designed the majority of Duke by naming the West Campus quad in his honor. During a year-long tribute to Abele, committee members share their thoughts on Abele’s contributions. This video features Duke University Chapel custodian Oscar Dantzler.
