- The Dragonblight, also called the Great Dragonblight, is a great dragon graveyard valley, located in southern Northrend. The entrance to the nerubian kingdom of Azjol-Nerub can be found in the mid-west part, while the mysterious Wyrmrest Temple resides in the middle. The magnataur village of Bloodmar is here also, as well as the ruined taunka capital of Icemist Village, and the nerubian conclave of Sundered Monolith. The Forsaken base of Venomspite, as well as the human stronghold of Wintergarde Keep are located to the east. The Scourge citadel of Naxxramas is floating in the skies above Wintergarde.
The bones are zealously guarded by Malygos and his blue dragonflight, but the rise of the Lich King and the Scourge allowed the undead to claim many sets of bones from the graveyard and use them to create frost wyrms for the Scourge forces. The Dragonblight was also the home of the first humans to fall victims to the Plague.
Surrounding Wyrmrest Temple are five majestic dragon shrines: red, bronze, green, blue, and black, each blessed with the powers of its respective flight. In recent times the undead Scourge has laid siege to these shrines in an effort to further its attempts at raising terrifying new variations of undead dragons to serve the Lich King.
In an attempt to arrest these invasions, the red Dragon Aspect, Alexstrasza, has begun recruiting heroes to aid in the fight against the Scourge, even as the taunka and tuskarr wage their own desperate battles against the undead. The one-time Scarlet Crusade, now the Scarlet Onslaught, has arrived as well in the hopes of claiming victory in their ongoing campaign against the Lich King and his minions.
Both the Alliance and the Horde have begun establishing a presence in the Dragonblight, taking a particular interest in the barred entrance to Icecrown, Angrathar the Wrathgate. There both factions have begun gearing up for the siege that will inevitably lead into the lair of the Lich King himself.

I am sure _some_ of you appreciate Northrend more than Outland. So here is something for you (Maxime, you specifically asked for this).
The RP hero for this video is Alexstrasza. You can see her flying over the skies for Dragonblight in my video. But there are some scenes that depict the Wrathgate conflict. I never truly realized, this zone is just huge with a lot of lore in it. I've filmed about 2 hours and a half, without going into detail. It was a real challenge to trim the video for one hour, to compose the story and select things which really matter. Did I skip something important? Perhaps.

With love,
Meisio
Thanks for doing this, honestly i feel like the whole ambiance is there, and still there is so much going on !
Thank you very much, especially for using only tranquil tracks of the zone! I love going to sleep during cold winter veil nights with these ! :)
I loved riding the ship to NR and just wandering about.
The high pitch piano notes really reflect on the harsh, cold winter landscape and feelings of dread. It matches the zone so perfectly.
Always great to see a notification of Meisio! This zone has such tranquil music
I agree. I've kept Dragonblight only tracks just because I wanted to keep it tranquil :)
Cheers JV!
This may be the most interesting zone for me in all of WotLK. There is just so much to unpack. Every turn feels a little different and mysterious. Loved it!
Star's rest will always be one of my favourite little camps, the purple and bright white of the snow contrast really nicely and I guess wherever night elves make camp they like to make things nice and comfy.
I've spent countless hours here mining Cobalt ore.. Ahh.. the memories.. Thanx Meisio.. Cheers..
I still remember the night, i was watching something (for Fun) and when the first previews of the new WoW Expansion (did not play BC back then at all) was release, i instantly looked of a "way" to see the stream and when i they showcased the new zones, i was so hooked by Dragonblight - it look so different from anything else and so fitting for Northrend.
Listening to this while working on a video about Dragonblight! :D Motivates me!!
This is easily one of my favorite zones in the whole game! Thank you so much for this Meisio
My pleasure. A stunning zone that is full of adventures. I was always fascinated by dragons in WoW. It felt somehow disturbing to see so many skeletons in this area.
The simple forested areas in this zone are so of the best Blizzard made imo, it truly felt like I was lost in the wilderness sometimes.
This zone always had such an unique ambient, thanks for another amazing content Meisio.
I absolutely love your work! Keep it up!
Wow that opening! Amazing content
Fantastic! Now that we're about to enter into TBC, I love having music from zones that I won't be experiencing for a while. In Vanilla, dreaming of TBC - now in TBC, dreaming of WoTLK... so it goes. Thanks for this, I love the cinematography and the storytelling :)
I still dream of WoW Classic though - I am kind of stuck there. But all Classic zones have their charm.
Thank you for watching (and noticing :) )
A other good vidoe dude keep it up you rock i love dragonblight
Thank you Wesley. I love Dragonblight (and dragons and winter scenes in WoW) too! :)
Dragonblight...Dragonflight
I would love to see WoW minor races ambience, starting with all Quilboars!
TBC and Wrath zones had the best music.
I like mostly anything from WoW, I can't describe what makes these tracks great, probably the simplicity and the calm of them.
yes please
Thank you please :D
Why do the older zones have much more memorable music than the newer stuff? Is it because it's less orchestrated/ over produced and more atmospheric? I can rememeber the music from scholozar, westfall, terrokar and jade forest way more than anything that comes after it.
Talented people, who have been created Blizzard games - were gone. I guess thats why...
maybe because we needed to spend more time in those? in classic everything took 10x longer than in retail.
I think this is also due to the fact that in new zones, the music very often changes depending on where you are. It is even annoying when you are on mount.
Nah, i would nt go that far. I still remember Zones like Voldun, Tolong, VotFW, Vashir and so on for its music, as well as a lot of Stuff from Legion, like Aszuna or WoD, Frostfireridge. They also had some really amazing music, but it became more. More themes for more different situations, while in the early days (including Cata i would say), it was more 1-2 themes per zone and the rest was more of ambiance music.
Dragonblight f.e. has only one major theme (the one with the piano) that is played in different variations the whole time, which also tends too be a far more memorable piece, compared to anything before in WoW. Also Dragonblight had Naxxramas and WT which was most of the Endgame content till Uldamar and so people spend a shit load of time there, it was also the zone connection 2/3 of the flightpoints in Northrend, it had lots of fishing grounds.
It would be a mistake, to say that later zone themes are worse. Blizzard has dropped it in many ways, but general Zone Design (Visuals and Music) never was part of it, always top notch.
@@MrVaeron You mentioned many points I can get behind and even fully agree, and the others made some interesting observations in the previous replies. But if I'm being honest (which I always am) they still sound only half true or secondary to me, more or less weak. Sure newer music is far from being bad, and Legion and a few parts of the rest xpacks were simply great if we're being reasonable, but the older stuff still simply feel less forced and simple and dreamy/otherworldly/atmospheric/creepy/relaxing, and have more character. Instant classics in my book, most of them. I suppose it's the instrumentation too? Some days I wish I was born having an idea about music and how to create such masterpieces...
I miss Wrath so much ❤️
Wrath classic is playable now 👍
@@cruzeal9334 I haven't played classic as much because I've been busy lately but I want to go back and play it!
I am on Dragonblight now try to do agmar the wrathgate quest
It's a long one, but the story is fascinating :)
Thank you for watching.
