T: "The angels fall too".
I literally had the same expression as the girl next to her when she said that at 3:57
facts
đđ
God, this woman loves herself more than anything in the world
lol she's got some useful tips but Tara has always come across to me as someone who is EXTREMLEY self absorbed. For lack of a better comparison at the moment (and forgive me for this one), she reminds me of that that group of girls in HS. Tara is a 6 and the other girls are all 9s and 10s, but the 6 has the most attitude and swears she's the baddest in the group. That's Tara in my opinion.
The expression she is using here is in reference to someone who knows they are good at something, yet still misses the mark on occasion. She clearly knows how to sing, yet, doesn't do everything perfectly. Understandable. She knows that she knows her vocal stuff, it wasn't supposed to come off as conceited. đ
The Fallen Angel is in reference to a celestial being who is clearly holy, yet still falls to sin like man. ( This isn't about religion, just explaining the phrase)
This woman has the best vibes the âyes you canâ honestly almost had me tearing up sheâs inspirational as heck and explains really well even thought I know nothing abt singing
Ariana grande's imagine has quite tricky riffs. I really want to nail that. Thanks for the video tara!!
đ€ I just listened to it and didnât hear any
@@George_Tropicana In the "can you imagine it"s at the end of the song, the beginning of the word imagine is a riff. she sings "can you i-i-i-magine it". there are some in the verses too.
Learn to do what Mariah does and youâll do whatever Ariana does.
Camila's runs also

These type of vocal coaching videos are always very useful and insightful. Thank you for allowing us into these type of sessions
I am loving this new content Tara đ¶đ€
GOOD MUSIC me tooo
You just significantly improved my singing in around 10 minutes.
Coach Nicki is beautiful and seems like she has a really sweet personality! She also sounds like she's got some soul to her voiceđŻđ
Deep soul! On the Duh-duh-duh runs exercise, her "d"s were so light. I mean she minimized the "d" and it was so soft and moody.
I would like to hear her sing an old Gospel or Jazz standard. I think she has a voice for that.
Exactly!!!
Brandyâs Full Moon ALBUM is a masterclass in perfect placement/background harmonies and adlibs. get into that!!
Rocka10 đŻ
Amen
literally
Exactly!
Agreed, her backgrounds are excellent
Queen of Riffs and Runs Aretha. My vocal coach had us study her music
Actually its okay to do this in the beginning. At some point, yes find your own style :)
Yes Aretha Developed her own style
since u can sing where should i start with riff and rubs? i cant sing at all. or do i need to be starting else where?
Rated G i think you should start maybe on ur tone? i donât really know.
"Da da da dum" never sounded so beautiful đ
Youâve successfully positioned yourself as an authority in the vocal coaching industry and youâre doing an amazing job at building your brand! Awesome work, keep it up!
Just like you said, she's doing what a lot of other vocal coaches are not doing - builiding a brand and a voice.
She may not have the susbscriber count of some but she really seems to engage in many ways beyond the reaction/analysis videos and offering vocal training. Waiting for the next innovation from her team.
If she was just looking for subscribers she could focus on looking for the singers with massive fanbases (K-Pop especially) and just "react" to their videos alone to increase her YT subscribers, but she's going for depth and legacy, not just massive immediate growth.
Step 1: be good at singing
Awe ur mean đ
No, thatâs a bad advice, all you do is practice, not just do that, thatâs a bad advice, anyone can have a good voice if they practice, even blind people, hope you see this, Iâm sorry if I made u wrong but I am right, and I hope this helps!
I can tell you by experience.
When i was 8 i sounded HORRIBLE like for real and now im 13 and i learned how to sing good in deep since my voive is deep so i wanna sing good ALSO i can do runs now AND NEVER COULD DO THAT .
So its IT'S ALL about practice.đ
Very Bad advice
Being good is a boost but for people who can't sing, all u need to do is practice, it isn't a quick thing to be good at tho, takes patients. Maybe even years, if someone is needed at sinning, it would probably be a good idea to go to vidoes for beginners, but everyone is capable of sinning good : )
You know you can run until you do the "LEAD THE WAY" riffs!! Probably the hardest ever
Mboni BF Queen Mariah!
"Ad-libbing" is a singer's version of an actor's "improvisation", and it's as simple as that. That's the simplest way of explaining it.
That's such a great explanation of it.
Itâs short for ad libbitum and if you read music then you know it means you can alter the speed of the notes. But you canât just lose all rhythm. Like if an actor would improvise (like you said) they would make up a line of the spot. But it has to make sense
@@xxaaayy you can create an entirely new rhythm though, riffs can be an entirely new song within a song
Thanks, ladies - that was helpful. And, WOW!, Nicki - what a voice! The two of you having an amazing blend tone - would love to hear you harmonize on a song together.
Who else did the fire riff and then went đđł
Yeah đđđ
That would be me lol đđŹ
Yeah. Didn't sound to good.
I was shocked when i did it!!
I've learned how to riff with Natalie Weiss Breaking down the riffs
Thatâs awesome!!
@@Tarasimonstudios YOU ARE AWESOME
I just sound like a sheep when I sing a riff đ€đ
OMGGG SAMEE
THIS MADE ME CRACK UP WJAHHSHS
3:57 đ I am done with that reaction. I thought the same thing.
Those pink highlights are lookin great!
Her: talking about riffs
Me: busy belting terrible notes..
Me: *NOW YOUR IN NEW YORKKKKKK*
CONCRETE JUNGLE WET DREAM TOMATOOOO
No way! I've been struggling with the Rolling in the Deep riffs for ages, I keep going back to try to record a cover but I keep failing đ. I'm going to take your advice about the riffs and retry covering it. Also please react to Jessie J singing Reflection on Singer 2018, it's an amazing performance đ
YYEEES! Jessie â€ïž
What a coincidenceđ€·đœââïž
The âarchâ really helped me. I was running down the whole time practicing with you and I finally got it at the end. Thank You!
I discovered your videos recently, and instantly fell in love with your way of teaching, even though i'm not a singer (only in the shower). Already sharing đ€
I'm repeating "there's a fire" for like 10000 times now. I thought I could never do it. Thank you so muchhhh. it was really helpful.
Also, I'm wearing the same color of nail polish hahahaaa.
Your student has a beautiful voice. Very deep but not deep and very full. Love her voice
Can you break down the riff (if that's what is) for Hills and Valleys by Tauren Wells? Like when he gets to the "Hills and Valleys" part of the chorus? Love your channel!!!
yeah all good with 3 notes and 4 notes but now... *Mariah has entered the chat*
Federico Raggio nooo TORI KELLY!! đđ or Yebba
great but nowhere near Mariah's agility ofc

Thanks for sharing I always learn something new every time I listen to youđ
Please react to Christina Aguilera singing "It's a Man's World"!
Yes! Pretty, pretty please! There are so many mixed reactions to that one.
You wanna analyze a run.... KIM BURRELL! You should definitely do an analyzation on her. Your mind wonât be there afterwards đđđ
Non one runs like her. Speed, precision, musicality.
Kim is on a level all by herself lol
Please react to Christina Aguilera lift me up, since weâre talking about ad libs & riffs
Agree đđđ
Ouuuu, that 2nd note trick is really good.
You break that down so perfectly. Good illustration of "the arch". Awesome teachers!
I'm into Whitney Houston's riffs & runsđâš
(u 2 wore very pretty outfits & its the same color! đđžđș)
both of you have such powerful voices
I was watching this video and Adele Rolling in the Deep came on the radio! đ±
I love coach Nikki! âšđ
I love the idea of thinking about the 2nd note in the run! What a great tip, thank you!
I was literally thinking if she had a video of this in the morning đ€Ż
âME! I know.â Hahahaha the confidence! Fork it over đ„ș
No one tells you what's happening behind the scenes. That right there.
"They are so talented they do it effortlessly". No.. They are talented And they have worked their butts off and have become so good at it that it looks effortless.
Lovely video. Very helpfulâ€ïžđ
"Think of it as an arch" :) Thank you! :)
Help Iâm an alto I canât belt or sing loud đ itâs frustrating
have a problem with like ending a note my voice doesent shake if that makes sense đđđ
yari like vibrato at the end?
kat b yea that đđđ
You are probably not supporting your voice well enough. I too thought I couldn't sing loud until I learnt how to support my voice by using my abdominal muscles.
yari sing with ur stomach if that makes sense
3:50 the humility is real
This is great! Thanks for this. The adele part was genius and you're right it seems simple when you hear it but then trying it outright (without your tips) I DID NOT get it. Hahahahaha!
THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR! Thank you very much, Tara!!!!!
So some Lauryn Hill runs. I've mastered them. There are 2 run she does in the song, "The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill" that are stellar.
You are so good at breaking these things down in ways that people can understand!
Love this! It's really helped me view tackling riffs in a new way!
Amazing content. Imagine the comprehensive details that Tara just went on and letting the ribbons drift in the wind for all to see.
Uhhh I just love your realness sounding a little like Christina Aguilera. Love your voice. Great work yallđ.
Awesome!
Bout to duh duh dum my way through that Beyoncé Countdown opening run
Awesome video! Cam you do a series where you work with someone who cant sing to save their life and see if they can learn in say 30 days.
Sooooo I first discovered Tara on X Factor. Thought she was hilarious and a great singer. And then found her years ltr on CZcams. Subscribed the other day and been watching her vids. I am shocked and amazed with how much Iâve improved. Like on a scale of 1-100 (100 being an A cuz Iâm Asian and everything is on a grade system) I started at maybe a 30%. Ppl would tell me not to sing anymore. I thought I sounded ok but if I recorded myself and played back, Iâd be horrified. So watched the videos and tried the tips. Bored today and decided to sing I dreamed a dream after watching Tara react to Lea Salonga. Recorded it. No warm ups, not taking it seriously. It was pretty darn good. Like maybe a B-. Very happy :) I want to do karaoke now
Thanks to both of you!!! this was a big help!!! â€
Awesome!!! đthank you đ
Love this đ itâs very clear
Leason learned â€ïžđżđŠ
Coach Nickie s look throughout the video: " She s my hero" đ
THIS HELPED MY RIFFS SO MUCH TY!!!!
Lol I have a 24 note run for choir and weâre doing the song at nationals, weâre really trying here. Thx for the tutorial!
Oh wowwww would love to hear that!
Adrienn Meszaros haha so would I if I ever get it right
@@ReeceShepherd believe in yourself girl! Im sure you werent just randomly picked to sing such a crazy run!
You could also stress the first note. That's usually helps too.
Victoria Taylor thanks for the tip!
the problem with my voice is that it sounds super legato and i canât naturally make it sound choppy
With your explanation, I got this from the first take, thank you! I wish I had had such a teacher as a kid :)
Love this video!!! I always strain my voice at the end of a run. This helped so much!
do you have anything on how to sing falsettos and vibratos..?
So good tutorial!!
WAIT I DID IT WHAT. I STARTED REALLY BAD AT THE ADELE RIFF AND AT THE END I GOT IT. THANK UU
Thanks so much for this! I'd love more videos like that!! â€ïž
Ok, Got it babe!
*Tom reporting in with an obnoxious 50-note run* lol
I just went back and watched your reaction to Carrie Underwood singing How Great Thou Art. You should DEFINITELY react to the version Pentatonix did with Jennifer Hudson. Itâs amazing
I seriously pity my super talented friends who sing professionally. Yet ANOTHER video that I will talk about endlessly!!!
Lol!! Why the pity?
They endure my enthusiastic hounding of them to watch your videos, take your 8week class, and send a video to TSS instareact.
Im taught! đ€ You look Perrie Edwards here btw.
Tara, i don't know but i have never think about it i just trust to my sense and it's happening! And some times if i start to think the thinks get wrong.
The thing that drove me here was, "Good For You" - Dear Evan Hansen when Evan says "JUST LET ME O~~~~~~~~OUT"đ€Łđ Though I'ma girl I still wanted to know
you should do this with the riff in halo. the burning through my darkest night line
Help me with âonly 1â by Arianna Grande (chorus riff) đ
yesss haha thats the ultimate test
@@sabreena8139 Nah that's a simple one. The real test are gospel riffs. Gospel singers have insane riffs and runs
@@mattdiggsmusic For real! Can't really replicate that anointing đ
This was the song I came to this video for!! Tori Kelly killed it too.
Slow down the video and hit the notes and speed it up as you bet comfortable and use the techniques shown in this video.
The couch, the white and pink piano, and the shirt! so feminine! I love it :)
At this point Iâm just crying in frustration. I feel so inadequate...
Everyone needs practice. If you can learn patience, you can learn anything.
I LOOOVE your channel! Your advice is so precious, thank you :)
Really amazing technique
Great tutorial
i have an audition with this really high riff in the required audition music, wish me luck!
Hi Tara! Ive been finding your tips extremely helpful! Thank you!!
Can u please react to roadtrip tv! Its a boyband from the UK and they are INCREDIBLE!! I suggest bohemian rhapsody cover, this me or boybands evolution
More tutorial please it so helpful
I think people may understand what a riff is but itâs knowing the musicality meaning what notes are in the chord or in the key even so you can find the riffs.
whaat this helped so much! great tips, thanks!
Lol I've been doing this too, didn't know it was a skill either.. I sing the notes one by one then increase the tempo gradually and bam I do itđđđ
this was such a good tip!
let's get a breaking down the riffs by TSS!
It works for me so well thank you
Hi Tara could you please react to Christina aguilera best live vocals or her performance of twice In her recent tour thanks.
Thank you so much for your video's they help me so much!!
Hi again! I got confused now. I think, there are two kinds of ad-libs:
1) When we sing out loud and make that switch from one note to another without making even the slightest breaks.
2) When we sing a little quiet and make the small (almost unnoticeable) breaks and add the certain sounds like ha-ha-ha... For example there is a song that contains an ad-lib that is very difficult. The song is "Pentatonix - New Rules x Are You That Somebody" This is a link: czcams.com/video/fC8gutkCu1c/video.html
So, at 1:26 Scott sings that ad-lib "Patte - e - e - e - ern" And when I'm trying to repeat that, I do either: sing it slower, because otherwise I fail or I sing "Patte - he - he - he - hern" instead. Well, that second option sounds almost exactly as in the original, but I feel, it isn't the same. So, please somebody tell me whether I am right or not. Thanks!
The last parts of Guy Sebastian's Angels Brought Me Here has super tricky runs. I think because the notes in the runs are going upward which, for me, is harder. Would love to hear your analysis of said song.
If you can riff it slow, you can riff it fast
Hi Tara! Thank you very much!
