    Just purchased a 2007 S65 AMG and I love it. Glad I found your channel to help me take care of her. Thanks for the great video. Did you use any type of splash guard when draining the oil to keep it from getting on any parts of the undercarriage?

    if you haven't change your coolant completely. The seals on that engine need fresh coolant every 5 years at least✌ Changed mine the first year i got my C216 CL 600.

    Didn’t know K&N made oil filters, though I suppose it should have been obvious.
    I wouldn’t use their air filters as filtration is very poor but I’ll check these out.

    Do you know if I can suck the oil from the top with an extractor? It would really make it easier

    I know it's been awhile since you posted this vid so u may not reply but I'm giving it a shot, so I got a 03 w220 s600 and have been trying to find a good oil filter, I found the k&n filter but I'm not sure if I should go with it or the genuine mercedes filter what would you recommend?

    do you need to preoil/ prefill the oil filter before putting it back in ?

    I fill my oil through the oil filter housing. The opening is bigger than the oil cap.

    Nice video! I’m thinking about purchasing an out of warranty 2015 s65 with 54,000 miles. Am I crazy? I am somewhat of a DIY guy. But I worry about reliability and upkeep. I would definitely buy all the tools needed. I currently have a 2015 s550. It’s been pretty reliable overall. Do you have any advice for me?

    Great video! But that's 40 weight oil, not 0 weight. It's 40 weight at operating temperature, you could run 10W-40 or 15W-40 if you lived in a warm climate, but there's no way 0W-20 would be okay.

      how about a 5w30?

    • @charvakkarpe
      @charvakkarpe Před 5 lety

      @@getawaydriver750 Because you have another car with 5W-30? I'm guessing you can't go wrong putting 5W-30 in everything, but I personally stick with manufacturer recommended weights and use my discretion when multiple weights are recommended, like with BMW.

      @@charvakkarpe what weight do you recommend for my 1992 bmw 750il v12?

      It’s 0W-40 not 0W-20 watch the video.
