I would've rented a car dolly from U-Haul and dragged it with the Ram.
It helps if you watch the video.
@@AutoAuctionRebuildslmfao😂😂😂
@@AutoAuctionRebuilds when I saw your first video I was shocked that you didn't just pick up a dolly. could have been home two days earlier and done all your troubleshooting with a car lift
Transmission sensor
And where is the content / drama / videos in that? Remember CZcams is my business. This is how I make money. Dragging a car on a dolly doesn’t get views. This car has hundreds of thousands of views because of how I structured the videos.
Reason the car worked in drive after driving backwards is because those are the wind up cars where you pull them backwards and they zoom forward.
Real
😂😂😂
Bro stay golden
🤣
😂😂😂
Monkey Wrench 🔧 Mike is honestly a solid good person he’s so patient with his crazy ass friend
Keep the Domino"s car. It will get more reviews by repairing it! A lot of us would watch!.
Yes!!
Randy: Please dress up as pizza delivery driver & deliver Mike a pizza 😂
This needs to be pinned
Good idea lol
This comment makes me think of “At A Medium Pace” by Adam Sandler 😂
I'm a delivery driver
Drop it off at a Domino's and leave the title in it maybe they'll keep it😅
I don't know why I find a Chevy Spark so interesting but I love the videos of this car
thank you Randy😂
here in Europe they sold this car to, but only with a stick shift, not an automatic, i do understand now why.
Very rare to even see manuals here in the US I haven't driven a manual in almost 15 years
@@djsonic6533 Recently saw a 2000ish Volkwagen Jetta GLX VR6 with stick shift in Arizona in Kingman on the junkyard.
I have a 2013 spark with a manual transmission in western NY and I love it.
Americans are lazy.
I'd love to see the Spark manual-swapped, then park it at a Domino's and watch the delivery drivers freak out when they aren't able to drive a stick.
Lmao fellow CZcamsr here not too far from martinsville, was about to hook up the trailer and go hunting for the pizza mobile until I saw you got the U-Haul! Glad you got it home safe.
CVT = Can't Venture Today.
Cunt Vile Transmission
😂😂Classic!!
Subaru makes a nice cvt
@@ayo9057 No they don't, they are very problematic their previous non CVT automatics were rarely known to fail
Honda has one of the best CVT in the market.
A common failure on the 4T65E is iron filings collecting on the pressure control solenoid and shift solenoid electromagnet coils.
The iron filings cause the control solenoids to operate erratically.
The above wears out clutches.
That little cvt is probably suffering from the same kinda thing.
PCS has a screen over it. 4t65e has plenty of weak points. Glad they haven't been produced since around 2011.
My thoughts exactly on the previous video
A slipping transmission will get extremely hot VERY fast and melt and warp everything inside
@@lestersegelhorst2776 yes sir. I lost a trans line on the freeway on a 6l80. 1 minute of limping it off burned up a clutch pack
@@mph5896 the iron filings are really quite fine. The screen on the pressure control and torque converter clutch and shift solenoids only keeps the bigger chunks and some of the iron out.
The iron filings packed around the solenoid coil alters the magnetic field from the electromagnet coil in the solenoids similar to sintered torriodal transformer cores. It doesn't have to alter the magnetic field much, it just has to alter it some to make the solenoids actuate outside the expected envelope.
Read the GM pan magnet service bulletin for the 4l80 the 4l60 the 4T60 and the 4T65.
Hi randy my name is Robert from Kenya 🇰🇪 living in Qatar 🇧🇭 love your channel. 🐒 Mike is a true friend. That's why you need someone like him to advise you. All the best with the dominos car 💪🏾👌🏾
I don't think the problem is with the actual CVT portion of the transmission. There's a built-in auxillary box that handles the hi/lo shift and reverse. It's either that is having issues or the pump is having issues and that's what is causing it to only be able to go backwards.
I also think that's what the jerking is when you're accelerating forwards. It's trying (and failing ... or doing so very poorly) to do the low/hi shift and having major issues.
The CVT part itself usually isn't what fails. It's usually the pump (and then a cascading failure from that) or the valve body or big bearings going out from poor fluid and lack of maintenance.
Its the rubber band.. it pulls it back so it will take off😂
Should have written OK OR BUST on the back window 🤣🤣 that should be a tradition for all your Indiana to OK trips
maybe you need walkie talkies to talk about condition of the car or small talk etc with mike in every long trip would be very nice
They both have cell phones...
Glad you got that car back. I think a lot of people would like to see what was wrong with it and the fix.
Thank you for choosing AutoAuctions Pizza! What used to be known as Dominoes! Provided to you by owner Randy! Lmao had to!
I'm fully invested in that little piece of crap 🤣 I'd love to see you be able to bring it back to life
The secondary shaft speed being 65535 (0xFFFF) means the signal is not available, ie the sensor is bad
My wife was having flashbacks of what happened to my daughter's 2015 Spark, almost exactly what was going on with yours.
Randy Put a trans in it, We Love the Dominator!!!! And yes you can use this thing for your Son.
that car nees a monster bass system in it, with lights and everything, would be a blast at a car show!
Auto Auction rebuilds is having fun trolling commenters, who don't watch a video, before commenting something that is clear as glass in the video.
Hahaha, nothing beats a good laugh!
The pressure builds up in the transmission until it won't drive forward, then you take the dip stick out (releasing the pressure) and it now can go forward. I believe it is the filter causing the pressure to build.
Edit, well, it worked in drive after you took the dipstick out, but it didn't have a chance to cool down enough. It is worse than a 100 mile electric car where you have to recharge for 40 mins between every 100 miles.
I love the transition of the camera right at 41:04 when you say that you hope we enjoyed the videos of this car. The answer is literally on the fender XD!!!
Looking everything up on these cars, there were multiple recalls on these Jatco CVTs which were in regards to transmission temperatures. Given yours was getting way too hot and then showing all the issues, I bet it had done this when it was owned by Domino's, at which point the vehicle illiterate delivery driver kept pushing it and sent the temperatures sky high. As for why it wouldn't accelerate after a while, my guess is a combination of internal transmission damage and the trans telling the ECU its way too hot and cutting back the engine output, hence why flooring it was still getting you 27+ MPG.
It needs a new valve body which comes with new solenoids.
Love the video series on the pizza car, would love to see it fixed up, Thanks Mike
This is giving me anxiety and bad flash backs of my Holden Cruze!!😩 😂 ( Chevy Cruze to you )
I noticed that too. Definitely an unrealistic RPM.
Randy with the Lil John "Get Low" Song reference 👍
23:51 just so happens to be the max number for a 16bit register. 65,535
Damn, that's why my pizza is late!
I came to watch the video to see Randy's jacket, it's literally a piece of history 😉😎
That's from delivering all those pizzas 🍕 😂
Man, if you had left it there I could have just imagined the responses. Like "Found the car in a field, turned out it was just the headlight fluid. Free car!"
You made the right decision! That POS car could have got you killed! Good content!
Monkey wrench is the best road buddy when you want to pick up a car with unknown conditions.
I think you're onto something with the pressure sensor. CVT transmissions require precise pressures to "shift" and when the fluid is cold or hot that pressure sensor tells it when it can shift, with the sensor being bad it doesn't know when to shift and either ships early or late causing the surges. And when extremely cold it won't shift into drive at all reverse is actually a "hard" gear that is accessible anytime
Randy, you will fix it, no worries, movies together with Mike going vital. Great video. Finally, your luck in buying cars changed for once and this means more revenue for you.
Very glad to see you brought it back I'm very interested to see what the fix will be
It's got to be some sort of an internal pump that usually pumps fluid through the clutch packs to keep them cool actually too and that's not happening. That's why the transmission is getting so freaking hot. Just a thought. I'm no transmission expert that's for sure
What an absolute adventure. Not the kind hoped for, but you aren't going to forget this car any time soon. I found your channel because of this car from a short and now feel invested, so I'm actually hoping you do more with it at this point. Either way, was an interesting ride.
I have a 2003 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer Special Edition with 180K Miles. She is a beast and can out perform anything but.................I have a tapping noise myself and it needs so much TLC. I try to watch your videos so I can work on it myself on my free time but with my health situation its been hard. Love the videos!!!!
I enjoyed the video. I'd be interested in seeing a trans tear down and rebuild. That may also help someone else having issues with the vehicle. Plus it's a domino's vehicle makes it cool
Yeah we’re not tearing down a transmission on this pos lol
@@AutoAuctionRebuildsscrap bin for the transmission! 😊😊
I guess it makes for a good video when you're deliberately destroy a car. For the Is sake of the video.
Fix the car and its going to be great content on your channel rather than just buying cars and selling them back. Get it to run and drive so it would be one to remember. I follow your channel and the content so far on this car has been an interesting event for me.
50/11 times was absolutely hilarious and risk it for the biscuit lol...good shit man lol ty I needed that laugh
It use to be that if you had towing there were no mile restrictions……oh how times have changed!😂😂😂
Do the cradle swap, attach a couple of old tires to the front and it can become your new lot jockey/pusher at the house. Then go get it wrapped with a custom AAR wrap
Thank you for another great video. MWM is always a very good idea. The 2 of you are an absolute riot.
I'm a woman who doesn't have much interest in fixing cars...I'm invested in finding out what's going on with this car. My husband and I get new cars every 4 or 5 years so we don't have to deal with fixing them. ☺
Thanks for sharing your journey. Monkey wrench Mike save the day again. Good quick thinking sir 😎😎👍👍
These lil pizza car videos are hilarious. A RV even passed you on the left. As soon as you got on the highway you said “I don’t think it’s gonna make it” 😂
Normal transmission fluid temperature is going to be between 140F and 225F (60C to 107C) and in some vehicles it is going to want to be exactly the same as your engine operating temperature range. So you usually want your transmission fluid to be around the same temperature as your engine or slightly above engine temperature during normal operation. Bad things start to happen, starting with the formation of varnish, at temperatures exceeding about 240F (115C).
I'm like 10 mins into the video and my stress level is sky high :). Good for you, I'm glad I'm not dealing with it.
You could have flat towed the car if it was a manual for cheaper. They probably charged you $250 for the tow dolly since you aren't returning it where you got it from. You can buy a flat tow bar from Wally World or Horror Freight for $80 and its yours for future hauls. Thanks for the video!
My brother owns a Chevy spark and I like it hope u can get the transmission fixed i like to see that Benn watching you for years keep up the good work
I love the adventures with you and Mike.
I have a thought on your problems. The transmission might be overheating due to the fluid not getting to the cooler. That could be because the way that transmission might be setup as I have seen in other chevy transmission setups where the fluid goes through the bypass and into the filter before returning back through the cooler into the pan. If the bypass is operating then the transmission maybe going into an over pressure mode and trying to limit the engine RPM.
I love Mike he is so funny and sarcastic 😂😂
Hello Randy and Mike aka Monkey Wrench Mike. Well let's see if the Domino's car will make it from Tera Haute Indiana to Oklahoma. Good luck on the trip.
Awesome video, thanks Randy for this adventure!
Love these kind of videos! Keep ‘em up Randy 😁
Thanks for the video, Randy.
Thanks for watching!
a real Shoverolly dude! Shove it up one hill, it will prolly down the next!😂
I want the pizza car to get fixed and drive again.
Hi Randy and Mike transmission is toast almost leave it behind
Great video guys😀👏
I hope the views end up being sufficient (so far it looks like it!) This is just such a unique car it would be great to see it driving well.
Great video as always Randy!
I had high hopes for this as much as you went through. Glad you didn't just abandon it even though since my car just messed up 2 days ago, I would love a free car. Great videos love the channel.
Perhaps clogged filter?
That could explain pressure and temp issues.
Randy believe it or not. I had a Nissan versa that was doing that same thing going into Safe mode. In all, it was was a light bulb for the back brake lights.
Love to see your real life experiences
That was such a brilliant video Randy, I was wondering if you were going to make it back, love all the road trips with Mike, hope you have a wonderful weekend
Interesting video…great you have such a good friend in Mike….
I’m loving the videos on this car!! I would like to see what you gotta do to fix it!
Had me on the edge of my seat 🤘🏽🔥😀 love the content!!!
LOL, I hear ya with the LiL Jon pun!! 🤣 I😅
Randy,
When you’re ready to recoup some of your 2k let me know.. I love this little domi..no-go for some reason and I’ll fix it and use it. 👍🏼
I am looking forward to seeing if it can be fixed. Cool video.
My 2017 Ford Escape did the same thing last summer. Replaced the tranny, Doing fine now.
Whippoorwill Antique Mall, Marshall. Southwest side of I-70 on the frontage road. Sorry for so much trouble guys. Been feein' it for ya. CVT's are junk.
You should have parked it in front of a Pizza Hut. 😂
Good Idea ! and say to them heres your okay bye haha
I'm enjoying your videos. Keep up the good work.
Didn't have time to watch the whole video yet, but my thought is change the pressure switch. my car thankfully doesn't have a cvt transmission in it, but one day while driving it started giving me issues, went into limp mode, and gave me that (or similar) code. Changing the switch fixed it.
I was looking at the dually ,I know it's faded , but with the rough finish, you could brush or roll a coat of red enamel over it, and I bet that would make it more saleable at the auction.
How’d it get back to Oklahoma man, I see it in the IG! Keep it up Randy and MWM you guys are such a great duo together!!! We love yall! ❤ good that yall just towed it home and stuff. But woe you two are such a good duo
Love Mike's coat. Didn't realize he use to work for the news. Fox 25 out of Boston? The use wfxt now and dropped Fox on the name.
So, the way basically all automotive CVTs work is they have a belt between two cone-shaped pulleys, and two solenoids - one that nudges the belt in each direction, and a pressure switch that more or less just tells the computer if it's got fluid in it - if the pressure switch isn't reading, the computer will not actually try to move the car. What you're seeing here is a clogged inlet to that pressure sensor, that's only letting through *almost* enough fluid. At the gas station, when you're commanding reverse, there is a different level of pressure in the system, because a different set of valves are open - and the sensor reads it as high enough to go. But when you're in forward, there isn't enough pressure, so it goes "No." - but it suspects it can't really trust the pressure sensor, because it is seeing the value fluctuate, so it throws the code for the sensor And then you fool around for a bit, and the crud in the transmission moves around a bit, and the car magically works. And then there's a few extra sensors and solenoids for reverse and park and torque converter lockup and that other quality of life stuff.
In these CVTs the belt is generally metallic. As the belt wears, it ends up in the bottom of the pan, and in the fluid, and the debris gets spread through the hydraulic passages and in the inlet screens to the sensors and solenoids, causing them to do all sorts of wonky crap like surging (which is the computer commanding the solenoid to pulse for x duration in which time it's expecting y movement of the belt - but it gets a different amount of movement, because the hydraulic passage is partially obstructed. In principle, you can clean the crud out of the transmission with a full teardown. In practice, is it worth that? Almost definitely not. For the educational value, is it worth doing anyway? I would.
Either that or the sensor/solenoid harness is totally pooched (which is what your breakdown with the intermediate shaft speed sensor suggests). If it's one of the ones that's oil wetted inside the trans, it could well be full of conductive glitter.
Randy, great video on the Chevy Spark with you and Monkey Wrench Mike. 😂 👍 Always fun to watch y’all up in Terre Haute.
I was very surprised that the transmission is bad. Anyways ...... I would put a rebuilt transmission in it and send it to CoPart.
Definitely electrical in nature. Ground connection or maybe a control module?
Special warranty N1922711110 2014 - 2015 Chevy Spark
Reprogramming to correct the issues with it not shifting properly?
These cvt transmissions are constantly having issues. Get a different type of transmission!
Love the video it it's a little quite car . Would love to see you buy that other Spark and swap them things that is broken . Would be a good content for your channel. Glad you made home safely. 👍
The road trip videos with Mike are always my favorites!!
Amazing it got that far and MW had a great idea and glad you both made it home OK.
It could be the electronic throttle assembly. I had broblems with my Chevy Malibu and it did the same thing . I changed that it worked fine.
Reminds me of the time the fuel pump failed in my ford Taurus. Would run normally for a little ways, then would stop or barely run for a while. i made it over halfway home until I had to go up a hill and stop at a stop sign. That was it. It wouldn't start and had to be towed to the garage to have the fuel pump replaced.
I have faith that you will be able to fix it when you get it home.
Wow, the video is great. Was that had been somewhere where I could’ve at least looked at it not that i even would know to fix it lol ever want to throw $2000 down the drain again, you always can put it in my trashcan. Can’t wait for the next video.😂
The belt in the transmission might be close to breaking apart.🤔
Just as a special note, Make sure that you spend some time in researching the crash test rating in any vehicle before you buy. It's good insurance that the members of your family will love you for taking the time to show them appreciating there life. Small cars are not a bad thing but tin cans will crush easily , My dad was in a bad accident back in the 1990's and the girl who hit him didn't have a licence or INSURANCE of all dumb things, So he was on the war path to make sure we three boys have vehicles that will survive a collision and protect us. Well He was right. and you need to be too, for your daughters sake and grandchildren.
Randy I love the content of you buying these crap cars and trying to road trip them!
Randy, you need to keep that Domino’s car if you need to throw a transmission in I think you should. It’s a little car by the way you do good work keep it up.
