    Nice that you mention the 🇨🇦 DRL's . I don't own a Ram but I do find it interesting to see what you can do to upgrade your truck . I would say go to a junkyard to get the projector headlights . I own a car .

    I bought adapters & oem projector headlights for my 2014 ram lonestar..
    No problems w/ it thus far & easy assembly..

      so everything works good, I have a lonestar and want to go to the projection. but the dealer said it wasn't possible. also have you done anything with the tail lights?

    I have 2014 Ram 1500. I bought LED 9012 bulbs, because I was told that’s what was the upgrade. Bulbs are too long. Plastic back cover does not close. Are these the correct size? Do I need 2 sets for low & high beams? Yes, they are projectors.

    I was wondering if you can make a video installing these projectors on a truck that came with factory quads

      We don't have a video of installing them on the truck. Not much really to it.....remove old lights, plug these in, mount and ground the resistor(s), and done!

      If its just the tab, shouldn't be an issue. these are a very tight fitting plug......

    I have a 16 big horn 1500. I just aquired a brand new set of the all black sport light housings built in 2015 with the black shroud which I believe are discontinued. I think on the back it says h1 and 9005 for the headlights in the sport housings. Is this kit compatible with my set up? Also do I need anything besides these adapters like those resistors?

      H1? Maybe.....9012 or 9005/9005.......If they are the OEM or TYC lights, I know these adapters will work.

    Where can I get a harness to convert from factory projectors to the quad style?Im looking at new headlights and they won’t fit trucks with factory projector lights so I need a harness to go basically backwards.

    So I just bought these adapters from you guys, except mine looks different. The resistors are in line and no ground. The conversion worked, the headlights function ok, but the adaptor that connects to the headlight plug on the truck side will not click and lock into place. Is this a common issue? Any suggestions? Thanks

      We have HID kits for these as well. All depends on the year of your truck, and.....the bulb type it takes (as there are 3 different types depending on the projectors you have). Best bet, email me with what year you have and the lights you have and we'll get you squared away!

    Jeremy can you tell me if these can work in the reverse order? Meaning going from a projector style to a standard quad headlight? Or is this specific to just get projector style in the quad style headlight truck. If that makes sense thanks?!

      this video is old.......the product has been updated to have the resistors integrated to a circuit board - and will work on all 4th Gens.

    Is the Canadian problem with high beam circuit that you mentioned fixed with the new generation of the plug you now sell in 2018?

      Nope, that would require quite a bit more wiring, and not be a plug n play option.

      Thanks for your reply - I see - do you have any hints or more details in that regard? i.e. what additional steps are necessary, Where I can find the parts (from yourself or sister shops), what have you....

      Its not something we have put together, but essentially you'd need to disable the DRLs on the truck, use a 5pin relay system to provide power to the DRL wire on the adapter, then shut off power whenever the parking lights or turn signals are on. Great......fun - but again, not something we've really dived into at this time.

      thanks for the info - makes sense - can you also confirm if we don't do the above hacks and leave things as per your video, would the turn signals and everything work and the only thing that will be noticeable would be that high beams will be acting as daytime running lights instead of the amber strip (as you mentioned) -- basically want to confirm that signals will still light up the ambers and not leave them orphaned?

    What if I use AlfaOBD and put in BCM all typical factory code ? Would it show amber DRL ? I'm from Canada and would like to match OEM look as much as possible.

      this is quite an old video......our newest 3.1 version of the adapters have a wire that runs to the fuse box to enable DRL. AlfaOBD won't be needed in that case.

      yes, depending on the year though. Some pre 13s don't have the hole in the fender, it may need to be drilled.

    Ive noticed on your site that you have a V2 kit and it looks like you dont need any resister boxes anymore? is it an inline resister style now? that wopuld be awesome to not have to have 2 blue resistor boxes to mount on each side.

      Yes! Quick note though, 13-14 is currently still using a resistor, but we are working on an update to those years as well - if that is what you have.

      RetroShopLights awesome.. mine is a 2018 ram 2500 bighorn. Love the look of the the new projectors in black, mine are black but crappy ones haha.. if you upgrade to true fx-4 projector does that make you have a hid white light and brighter output? So I wouldn’t need hide with those?

      The FXR projectors must be used in conjunction with HIDs. And they will give you awesome output!

    you mention no DRL amber lile stock for candian ram owners when purchasing this route. how about for US , if i buy these for a 2016 with the adapters with the amber DRL come on as if theu were in the stock versions?

      If your truck is programmed for "turn signal" DRL, then yes. If its programmed for any other bulb, it will follow to that bulb. The adapter is simply a wiring pass through.

    Looking to install the projector headlights on my 2017 2500 that came with quad halogen reflector lights. I know I need these adapters and resistors. If I go this route, can I change the low beam bulb to LED? If so what would I need to do so? If not, but want a better bulb than halogen, what would you suggest?

      Correct, though our new adapters don't have resistors (not needed). As for the low beams, HIDs would be best. We have those on the site as well, found here - shop.retroshop.us/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=4G%2E15%2EHIDs

      Correct. On the 16+ they are 9005 on both, 2 kits are needed if you want both low and highs.

    For Canada. What if I retrofit d2s bi xenon and eliminate the hi beam on the reflector. Can I have the DRLs working normally now?

      @@Michael_Wild we do have ways of making this work with Canadian trucks. The factory DRL has to be turned off though, and another wiring harness has to be added in.

      The entire LED board has to be replaced. This can be done with switchbacks (white parking / amber turns), or sometimes with OEM boards (if we have any in stock......which is rare!)

      Typically the new lights come with bulbs.....but - if you are wondering about swapping over your HIDs or something? Yes..... quads are H11, the projector lights are 9012 (13-15) or 9005 (16+ version)

      H11 will not fit the projectors......but most lights should come with bulbs. If not - halogen bulbs can be purchased at your local parts store, HIDs we have on our site as well.

      by 2012 lights you mean the quad style right? all trucks from 13 and up have the quad headlights unless they are the higher up trims. if i remember correctly, the R/Ts / sports, laramie longhorn and limited come from the factory with the projectors.
      the projectors come with the higher trim trucks, while the lower trims get the quad headlights

      no...resistors are designed to mimic the stock bulb - and when properly mounted to metal - no issues.
