@@cynthialeech2507 All you need to do is to dry it off before closing it. Also, leave a fan on to circulate the air.
@@cynthialeech2507 As already said, letting the surfaces dry out. I also recommend placing an air dehumidifier (one with liquifying pellets) on the bottom to be safe.
Except they cut it and dont show how the closet folds out.

I really like that cupboard/shower unit. Never seen that before, its a really good idea.
I'm always doodling designs for tiny houses and van builds and I did something very similar to this for the shower because I do think that we need showers but they're wasted space most of the time. I also did one where the toilet is in the shower but you can pushit through a hole underneath a bench with a plastic flap that covers the hole during a shower. The drawer that's inside the bench pulls out to make space for the toilet to roll into it.
I've seen a shower and toilet that way. Nice!

They hv shower n toilet like that in Japan and it's a good idea to incorporate it in a van.
As a male, I traveled 6 months in my van and only dug a cathole once, so I view toilets only for chosen convenience for a man, woman or couple, with the tradeoff of dealing with emptying it regularly unless one of the expensive ones is used that bag and seal each use for disposal. Traveling alone, I'd go with a seat that raises to reveal, or swaps out to a toilet seat shape and you just insert a double layer bag, like a kitchen size. Urine in a bottle, solids in the bag, simply roll up and store it in an airtight box like a plastic ammo box from harbor freight (oddly and appropriately then named) and dispose in the next trash stop.
But the average person might be amazed how you can schedule your bathroom time and avoid the need for a bathroom suddenly within 20 feet because you waited for the call of nature to kick in instead of being proactive.
Somehow people can manage putting food in on a schedule every day when working during their lunch hour, but can't manage to schedule it coming out.
But the ultimate design for a shower is what I'm building. A 6 inch tall shower pan that pivots out from under seating (or cabinets, per design) rotating on the steel drain pipe, and hanging a shower curtain from concealed mounts recessed in the ceiling. Then the shower head pulls out from an overhead cabinet where plumbing in the wall brings up the pressurized water. Minimal cost, build, weight, and space used.

The shower closet is a great idea. Just a fyi tip. When filming, work your way around in a circle, then go outside, instead of jumping from item to item and in and out. It will give a clearer picture of just how everything fits and works together. Super Build!

I was thinking about putting in a removable rod that I could hang outside of the shower area til dry. Maybe extendable on a pivot hinge.
With this closet space, it would have to be water resistant on the back to keep clothes dry and, approximately, a 2 inch gap between carcasses with a vent/window and drain. Even better if you give it a quick squeegee once showered.
Took the whole video to get to the lede but that's exactly what I had in mind to save space but still have a fixed shower should I ever decide to try living in a van, and there's absolutely no way I'd live in a van without a shower (and toilet).
I'm curious, how do you dry it off before swinging the closet back in so that mold doesn't develop and it doesn't smell musty? Is there a fan in there or do you just wipe it down and let it air dry?
i'm very picky when it comes to sampling ideas on stacked functions in designs based on other people's builds, but this one probably deserves an award for how it utilizes limited space in a way that doesn't disrupt the flow of how that space needs to be used in an entire routine. i'm definitely referencing the shower here.
I really wanted a van but the prices have shot up out of reach. Then there's the expense of kitting it out and finding someone to help me, I'm an older lady. I settled for a 23ft older class c for the same price as a good van alone. Now I have everything I need and I can redo things as I am able. Sometimes you just have to be happy with what is within your reach. The van being shown is lovely! ❤

Brilliant!! Seriously! Having the shower, and it is ONLY a shower/bathroom area is 100% a waste of needed space. The closet/shower IS a great use of the space. Love it!
What people have to learn when taking a shower is to use the on/off method. Get wet, water off, soap up, water on. The tankless water heater is the blessing here, a necessity and just works for boats, van conversions and even cabins.
That method is also referred to as a "boat shower", cuz when you are on a boat, there is limited space in the black water tank and it is a pain to have to keep leaving the dock to go to the dump station and then redock your boat.

Also, this seems like a great opportunity to use someone else's trap door into the dirty laundry, from the shower. It's a perfect all-in-one.
You stole my idea for the shower. I've been looking at building an enclosed utility trailer to live in full time. I was gonna do the same thing with a swing out closet opening to a step in shower.
My closet would be 4 sided. The hinged side would have 2 right angles. Then on the opposite side there would be a less than 90ﾟ angle at the front and a more than 90ﾟ angle at the rear. That would be needed for clearance at the rear of the close and when it's swung out. Being 4 sided will give a little bit more storage room than curved like yours.
My closet wouldn't go quite to the bottom of the shower because I wouldn't have a porta potty sitting on the shower floor. I am also going to have a cubby on the back side of the closet for a couple rolls of toilet paper.

Shower trick is brilliant, if shower weren't wet. I can only guess u must wipe the shower dry everytime u use it ,otherwise all clothes would be moldy and smelly..?
That is what I was thinking, and questioning. It would be hard to keep it from mold and smelling.
