    96 EUs are 768 ALUs, 768*2*1700 at their peak clock speed would be 2.6Tflops. For an IGP, this seems very potent, if the rest of the pipeline bottleneck removal and bandwidth delivery went well.

      @@tipoomaster but ddr5 is totally different from ddr4 it would need new socket and new memory controller also ddr5 at 8400mhz is roughtly 132GB/s and at 6400mhz its 102GB/s. I expect next amd apu to give gtx 1050ti performance

I don't want one single company ( whether Intel or TSMC or Samsung or something else) to have monopoly over chip manufacturing, as that will be bad for the consumers. I hope Intel gets back to the cutting-edge of semiconductor fabrication and stays there along with TSMC, Samsung and other such companies. We need continuous competition among them so that they continue to innovate.

    Currently Rocking i7-1195G7 and its decent if paired with adequate cooling. 96EU Xe Cores is enough for light gaming at 1080p 30fps or 900p 45fps.

    Seriously, i'm really interested in the new pentium 7505 and the new celeron mobile.
    Since in the web it said that both have the 48EU Xe iGPU.
    Depending on how fast that GPU performance would be, it would be a great choice for an entry level laptop.

      What do you mean FIVR was killed post Haswell ? FIVR was there in products before and after Haswell. Don't think they removed fivr in any of the products since Haswell

      I don't know what you guys assume FIVR as , it is a Voltage Regulator and is present in almost every processor out there.. It was present on the motherboard in earlier chips(prior to 2010), now these are moved on the silicon itself to better target area's that need power optimization

      then how do you think undervolting on laptops via Windows was possible? it was there since Haswell, since you controlled voltage from the CPU, not the motherboard.

      @@tabalugadragon3555 I can confirm this. Haswell user here with i7-4700MQ undervolted at -87.9mv, i also changed the Turbo Boost frequencies, so always boosting to 3.4GHz all core if it can.
      Very good singlethread perfomance for the age of this thing, better than i7-2600K.

    I think current trend for process like FinFET for 5nm, nano-sheet transistor for 2nm will be replaced by multi-hip or chiplet solutions from the cost and performance point of view. Next one chip solution will be vacuum channel transistor because of its simple structure and high speed operation like TeraHz. Please see my post in Activity at LinkedIn. I expect Intel to develop this vacuum transistor and become a leader of semiconductor technology.

      the Macbook is moving to ARM. so if you want tigerlake the only way to get it is to use a normal windows laptop. then again that may change now that nvidia owns ARM. they will basically be a dead company if AMD fails to innovate beyond ryzen.

      So basically one cannot/should not compare nm as a metric at all. Chips should be vetted, (post-silicon) once the processor is out to market ; for power, performance and accuracy of operations using a same benchmark program. Next up is the longevity of their transistors too ( I guess no one talks about this, Coz everyone keeps upgrading them.) . Like everything these chips have transistors which age and become slow. So tsmc have different transistors than Intel which may differ from samsung s fab too. So bottom line is get a product after being out in the market for like 3 months.. and follow up closely with comparison videos to make a wise decision, before smoking up 1000$

      Apple 5nm is weaker than Intel 22nm(because their Architecture is not efficient.ITS NOT THE SIZE OF NODES BUT THE ARCHITECTURE WHICH MATTERS FOR PERFORMANCE.Nodes matter only when it comes to power and heat generation

    Okay so. I need a new goddamn laptop like *now*. I know this is from a year ago. My current Skylake laptop has been bluescreening and has becoming increasingly unreliable. Alder Lake is coming out soon with its rendition of big.LITTLE. Will Alder Lake really blow Tiger Lake out of the water, or will I be okay? Laptops that meet the specs of the one I've been looking at probably won't be around for another 6 months, right?

    Thats a ferrari chip good for art if u n3ed something for qork get work ddr4? This would also be great in gaming.. its like a whole image in between those two points from an imaginary perspective.. still work chips do work better then this to me as i look at the whole design is like woah this is like a whole mini factory or factory on a chip.. and then i see art that this is good for art or gaming
    Still an amazing chip design impressively powerful at multitasking but work chips are better load things faster or something.. like bro thats a monster of a chip compared to last years offering... its that big of a jump when u think about it its powwrful warehouse in one chip in a laptop size

      Well , take it as a data analysis process . For example it supervises energy efficiency, counts the execution times and tries to optimize it . Besides , many algorithms rely on acceleration which is possible by ai .

      i don't think either ryzen beat intel or intel beat ryzen. their performance was about the same. in specific model ryzen beat intel and vice versa.

      although TSMC claiming to be 7nm, but in fact smaller number does not necessarily mean better. Intel is still leading in transistor density. But still, AMD manages to fix it with more core counts. So it is considered even now I guess
