That is a nice break that should surely benefit south lake in the future. Is that up near mr toads trail? I love that path. Thanks again for the videos
That was fun! I know if it was me riding those trails, my knees would have racked every rock and tree. LOL I'm with Sylvia, never too many flowers, it will be fun watching them grow this summer. : )
Yet another awesome video, but I'm going to be a bit of a friendly weather geek nag: I hope you bailed immediately after hearing the thunder, as lightning can strike many miles from the core storm, especially when you're high up like you were.
Hey Matt, after the first thunder I probably road another 10 minutes and then after the 2nd I turned around. You are right though in the future it should be right away!
Wow! Super exciting. I thought I might lose interest after the ski season ended. I loved all your downhill videos, especially of Heavenly where I learned to ski from Stein Eriksen in 1957... I don't think mountain biking was a thing beck then. I'm hooked now! It may even be more exciting that skiing (no soft landings!) Also it looks like the fire was not all that far from where you live - no? What was that like?
Hey Michael, appreciate the comment! This is very close to our house. The break line is probably within 2 miles of our house. We moved into our home 6 months after the fire as we were still moving back from New Zealand at that time. I can't imagine what it would have been like being here for that and during the evacuation what it would be like wondering if you could come back to your home.
How many years or decades of mountain biking experience do you have and do you have a mental picture of the trail in your photographic memory, because it looks incredibly fast in those downhills. It’s a triple diamond 💎 💎 💎 run in my head! Your wife and her mother sure planted up some beautiful colors of plants for the warm season. Please thank them from me.
Hey there, I don't fear the bears but I definitely respect them. I don't carry bear mace. I would carry it if there were still grizzly here and to be honest I'm not sure I would be riding my bike if there were still Grizzly. All of my interactions with the black bears while riding here have been good. They see me and typically within 5 seconds they run off. To be fair I have not encountered a bear while going downhill, which could be a different story. These trails are typically heavily ridden so I think generally the bears know bikers are usually present.
Awesome, thank you for the message! You helped me appreciate 1 Pet 2:24 more!
Thanks for the ride, your bike takes a beating
Whew! What a great downhill ride! You've ridden that trail a few times. Thanks for sharing. Btw- never enough flowers! 😆
Yes I would guess I have ridden that trails 20-30 times as it is my local!
Obviously you made it home alive so I had to tell myself…relax and enjoy the ride!
good point!
Thanks , I'll be there in July .

Hey Daniel, it is very close to Mr. Toads. They basically parallel each other with Mr. Toads just being to the west of this trail.
Nice, I am going to ride Corral this afternoon
enjoy!

Looks like a blast, you haul butt. Thanks for sharing 👍👍
Thanks mate!

Is there a map on the internet that shows the exact location of these biking trails?
Yes there is. Check our trailforks or fat map
and to think not one pine cone would ever open and seed out if it wasn't for fire
well said
Can you shuttle to armstrong connector and drop down?
You used to be able to shuttle this trail but since the Caldor fire they have had the gate closed.
Do you have any fear of Bears out there? Do you carry Bear mace?
The Califonia Grizzly is extinct so I’ll be interested in his response. I would be afraid of accidentally getting between bear cubs and their mother.

Found Corral Trail the last day of our Mt Biking trip in ‘06. So much different now than back then

Brie is a good woman. I’m sure that the potted arrangements will be beautiful. Time to stain the deck? 😂
You read my mind!
