These are the accessories I use to enhance my shooting experience on the Leica Q2. What are yours?
Great video and thanks for sharing your thoughts and ideas. I am a new Leica Q2 owner and the strap I ended up with is made by Eddycam in Germany. They make wonderful Elk hide camera straps that are super high quality, light weight, and soft on the neck. I love the Peak Design straps and use them on my Fuji cameras. The downside to Peak for me was the dongle doesnât fit in the silver connector on the Leica camera; the threads are too thick. That is when I discovered Eddycam straps. I do like your idea of the camera body cover and I will be checking into that soon. Look forward to more of your Leica Q2 videos. There are not many videos on this camera so that would be helpful to hear how your shooting experience is going.

Only accessory I purchased for my Q2 is the Leica Handgrip which I really like. I also purchased an extra battery (which I've never needed when out shooting so I quit carrying it). The lens cap stays at home when I go out with the camera - I don't use any kind of lens cap at all when out. I missed too many shots fumbling with lens caps in the past! ;) The standard Leica strap works fine for me.
If I feel the need to "store" the camera when I'm out shooting or traveling, I use one of my Domke FX5Bs which I've used for many years with all sorts of cameras. They helped me overcome the "carrying way too much gear" syndrome that I used to have.
Mine has the Match Technical lens cap like yours, the Leica thumb grip and the Leica handgrip as well as the original strap. Since September 2019, this has been a wonderful camera. Thank you for your insights, Bart

You guys put your hearts and soul in what you make you can feel it in the products + the Peak Design integration makes them so convenient. Keep rock and rolling đ€đ»
Good video! I use the Leica grip on my Q2M and don't feel the need for a thumb grip. Easy on and off and unlike the CL Leica grip it does have a tripod socket for when I want to use the 3 Legged Thing L bracket. I've used the Peak system on other cameras but have become a big fan of Lucky straps. Real leather and a clever quick release system with a very minimal amount of metal involved.
Great list! I especially like that rubber cap as I just know Iâm going to lose the metal one. The half case looks nice, but it would be great to have quick access to the battery and SD card.
That rubber cap is definitely fixing that « way too heavy wont stay on and will loose it » original Leica one problem ;-)
Iâm a big peak design fan too. Lets me use a variety of straps.

The Q3 has 2 function buttons vs 1 for the Q2 so the Q2 thumbrest might not be ideal for the Q3
For My Q3 its: Oberwerth Tag Case, Leica Zegna Vicuna Strap, Leica UV filter, Leica Brass Button. I don't think I'll need any other accessories!?

I like the idea of the rubber cap, but, I'm perfectly happy with the stock Q2. I'd be curious to feel how the thumb rest feels, but my camera feels pretty comfortable as is.

The UV filter increases internal reflections and is lower quality glass compared to the summilux ⊠so itâs kind of a downgrade / compromise ( higher internal reflection / lower contrast )
You will be fine with just the lens hood.. the Leica glasses are far more scratch resistant than the filter on top of it anyways âŠ

There are plenty of leather camera cases for the Q2 with access points built in for the battery and SD card. Since Leica have got rid of the fixed bottom plate it seems a pity to choose a case with no access points underneath,

I ordered the lens cap. My wife wants to axe murder me every time the metal Q2 cap falls to the ground. To save my marriage, I ordered the rubber cap.
Haha, probably the smartest thing to do. Buy a cap, save a marriage ;-)

Itâs on the side. There is a little hook where you can attache a little red coward that comes with it that attaches to the camera strap anchors.
