I believe that Miyako is a gift from God himself to metal music. That girl is one of a kind musical genius. She plays piano from the age of 3, pick guitar at 18 and shreds guitar too. Plays bass and even drumms a little bit. She is a composer also and has her own home studio. And she also made two guitars. There is nothing that this beauty cant do. You gotta respect that much of a talent and diversity. Love Miyako
Yeah...Miyako's left hand.......we all know about her stone face but its only when she's playing. Inside beats the heart of a musical savage.....when she's not playing she's personable & funny. ❤😎🎸🎹👌 P.S. One more thing, her baby grand that she has in her home studio, she sometimes refers to it, as my " best friend."

Miyako has been trained since 3 as a classical pianist and was destined to become a classical pianist, until she picked up the Dean guitar at 18 and taught herself to play it! Midori the other guitarist was taught piano from age 2 and gave it up along with Pharmacy School to learn the guitar at age 20. The drummer, Haruna was originally on piano but later switched to drums (I suspect she broke too many keys and pedals so they begged her to switch). Asami/vocals can play a few songs on the piano as well. Miyako has even played the fret and the keyboard at the same time while supporting Midori's solo in Burden of Time ( czcams.com/video/4OBf_Gn8efs/video.html) a studio version where the ladies are more relaxed. Miyako wrote this song with elements of the masters in it and Asami an ex-ballerina does the ballet dance at the end (can't see her as the camera is on Miyako at the piano). Miyako is stone faced because while she is playing guitar/piano she is also composing and arranging the next song in her head for the band she is that much of a musical savant. Her backing track here but she goes on the piano at the end to show that she can play it LIVE. Well does she play piano or guitar better, that is the great debate...I say she is great at both so who cares (LOL). Another great one is Empty Daydream LIVE (czcams.com/video/lXh_uMM94jU/video.html) which has everything that this band is about, piano, bluesy vocals, backing vocals, guitar clinic, bass-line and drums.

I saw the premeire for their new Live album being released on 9/29 called Heavy Metal Never Dies and their is a song on there where Miyako has a Keytar (Keyboard strapped on like a guitar) and her and Midori have a duet between keyboard and guitar.

Heads up, their documentary is all in Japanese, no English subtitles. But… if still interested it does give you a sense of who they are off stage out of costume. You’ll also get a feel for their stage crew and the professionals who help set up the shows. Swan Song is perhaps their piano centerpiece but Edge of the World and Empty Daydream also feature Miyako on different style piano parts, although not as much as in Swan Song. Yeah, Miyako has played piano since age 3. Musical genius she is also composing much of their music.

The lyrics are a tribute to Chopin that escaped from poland when russia try to invad them in the 1700 i think. H e made the ravolutionary etud to honor the polish soldiers how fouhgt the russians. Love from Sweden

Just for the record that's not actually a real grand piano. It's a Roland electronic piano dressed up to look like a concert grand. In their last DVD live performance she does actually play on a real percussive grand piano. I guess they can afford a bigger budget now.
Miyako has a personal CZcams channel where she shows off her guitar collection, talks about her own baby grand piano and her collection of exotic pets. Many of the videos have subs, some are in English. She’s an interesting lady.
Yeah, she’s actually seems super sweet and not stone-faced at all when talking on her channel. I also play guitar the same: all game-face and left brain focus. Some people just aren’t “feelers”.

The behind the scenes video is them preparing for this show, came as an extra in the DVD. No subtitles though, all in Japanese.
This whole song feels like a classical piece in metal form, and the solo is inspired by a classical piece in particular. I can't remember the specific name but someone will know im sure.

I know you took some flak on the last reaction. Truth is, every artist has influences. The thing about Lovebites is the huge range of their influences, from Maiden, Sabbath and Dragonforce to Beethoven, Chopin and Rachmininoff. Miyako, who composes a lot of their music, is a professional-level classical concert pianist, and was originally going to make classical music her career. When she was 18, she picked up a guitar for the first time. She particularly likes the Romantic Era classical composers like Debussy, Dvořák, Chopin and Rachmaninoff. She composed “Swan Song” using elements of the New World Symphony (Dvořák) and Chopin’s Revolutionary Etude. All five members of the band are Jedi-level musicians, but I think Miyako is a true savant.
Princess Miyako is a prodigy. A gifted virtuoso. She was born to do this. And lets hope she does this for a LONG time. Because we can never get enough of her!

The Chopin Etude at the stars iiiiis shortened slightly from the original.. Miayko wrote the rest of the piano parts you hear on the backing track through the song, and also the last piano part. Fun fact..that Roland piano is an electronic digital piano, not your normal acoustic piano.

Miyako is 30 right now and she has only played guitar for 12 years buit she has been playing piano for 27 years and people always say when discussing the greatest japanese guitarist of all time Miyako's name always comes up however people also always ask if she is a better guitarist or a better pianist that is how good she is at piano she is a musical prodogy. she is a brilliant composer as well please let me know what you think
