So there is one Jobcentre in the country where G4S are not idiots and a member of the Jobcentre staff seems genuinely committed to making improvements and ironing out the kinks in GDPR. A refreshing change from the usual thicko security thugs and staff members not wanting to know.

What a great Audit. And the main stars of this Audit were the G4S staff and DWP staff. In the whole the G4S folks (especially the black guy with glasses) were reasonable and professional. The young woman who came out to talk to you from DWP was excellent. She took on board your comments and provided you with a means of communicating your feedback to the people who hopefully can address these issues. I do hope that they make some changes and like us appreciates PTTPs efforts in protecting all of our data. It might seem petty, but if someone could harvest the names and phone numbers of jobseekers, this data could then be used by scammers to target them. I'm just back from a week in France and Spain where I had to provide my details to lots of Hotels, rental car company etc. Within a day of arriving, I started receiving scam calls from numbers that I didn't know. I didn't answer them as I didn't know them and none of the calls left a voicemail. They were calls alleging to be from the UK, New Zealand and the USA. I could have people from these countries calling me legitimately for work reasons but they would have left a voicemail. I've checked my work emails since and its obvious that they were spam/scam calls so I've now blocked the numbers. People identities are gold-dust to these pathetic crooks. We all need to be vigilant and especially Government bodies. There is strict data protection laws in place for a reason.
Thankfully, we have the likes of PTTP helping these Government org's to improve how they handle our data.

These photo-plays/ floor shows are much better than going to the theatre and watching moderate actors enact some kitchen sink drama. I will be sorry when in the distant future they all know how to behave and the “auditor” is just a distant memory of the twenty twenties. Definitely better than most stuff on the tele.

It's a privacy issue. Some staff members don't want to be filmed. They're doing their job and don't need a camera in their face. They have a right to privacy too in the workplace

_"You can get those screens, that go over, and, like, polarise the light coming out of the screens, and then from an angle you can't see anything"_
This is - in scientific terms - nonsense 🙃the light from a monitor is already highly polarised, adding another polariser would simply act as a neutral density filter, where rotating the polariser would dim or brighten the screen (when viewed through the polariser), it would have zero effect on the viewing angle, so would be useless as a privacy device.

Not only is it legally permitted it is It is NECESSARY for members of the public to police government institutions because all too often even if people within the system of insufficient rank report the issue nothing is done and such people are often prevented from publicising transgressions as a result of abuses of things like The Official Secrets Act or other policies that restrict whistle blowing activities.
