I went Chinese dirt bikes a while back...huge savings in money and they do get the job done for the average rider.
    Had s SSR 300 that was stolen...insurance wouldn't cover...
So, the K2 230 was a cheap replacement (bought it when it was $400 cheaper (inflation sucks!)
It was so amazing (considering the price...there are some problems...bottoming out the suspension being one of them (160+ lbs only)...
And I wanted to relive my youth, so I bought a KT 250...
Looking forward to more of your KT 250 videos...

Hi, i'm Rolf from Switzerland and I'm currently living in Uruguay. Here I would like to buy a KAYO T2 or K2. I don't know which bike is better for me. I am 55 years old, 1.83 m tall and weight 95 kg. I have been riding motorcycles all my life, but not very often enduro bikes. Off-road riding will be about 20%. The rest I ride on roads or dirt tracks. Can you give me any advice on which machine is better for me the K2 or the K2. Thanks a lot for your support and best regards from Uruguay Rolf

    • @manybikes
      @manybikes  Před měsícem

The T2 has been phased out in favor of the K2. The K2 does NOT have a link in the rear suspension, the T2 DOES. Kind of a negative in my book. I was told the rest of the suspension between the bikes is the same, levers and engine is the same. Plastics and swingarm is different, as is the gas tank and frame, which allows for more ground clearance. Personally I'd rather have a rear link, getting the suspension to act properly across the board is very difficult to do without one. Old vs. New...

I opted out of buying Kayo though I like
    the styling, and prices.
    Parts availability (Good Lucky')
    Parts Source (None)
Owners manual , some good info but woefully
    inadequate
Kayo US distributer USELESS, don't even respond
US dealers, do not respond to inquiries.
Specs, not counting words like; 'nice power' :
    Curb Weight NO
    Shock Travel NO
    HP Torque NO
    Dyno NO
I assume with any bike that I own, every part on
the bike not counting the frame will need replacing
some parts a heck of a lot sooner than one might
expect, with Kayo, there are no parts available that
I can find online or by asking dealerships and even
    Kayo's US importer.
When someone tells you that these bikes like
some other chinese imports are totally interchangeable
with bikes like CRF110 , or YZ125 etc, they are full
of crap, I've been down that road with other bikes,
you can get lucky on a part, that is all.
After my research, when I see the name KAYO,
I run in the other direction. Frankly, the TAO's and
Apollo bikes have no models that I have any interest
in, though they probably have adequate parts support,
which is probably my biggest concern.
If you're getting a Kayo to putt around the back yard
with, the bike will probably serve you well. If you want
honest and useful tech answers from Kayo dealers
and Kayo importers, forget about it..

    • @manybikes
      @manybikes  Před rokem

Some great reasons here. I have had good conversations with the Texas importer and they have "tons of parts" from what I have been told. I do get you points and would consider it hard too if I did not have a "good kayo dealer."

    • @bikersoncall
      @bikersoncall Před rokem

@@manybikes Yeah, Kyle, I hear ya,
the thing is, there may be people,
like your dealer that knows what parts
      are interchangeable, which would be
a good enough fix for my needs.
Now the problem is as I may have
mentioned, there are online pros lol,
the say all parts off blah blah are the
same as CRF250 ETC, which is total
      bs from my experience.
When you get a break down and your
bike is a huge part of your life, you get
out the manual and parts sources right
now, and start ordering. If we have to call
or email bob in Ohio to pick his brain
about this 'thingy' that's about 'this big'
seems broken, then wait courteously 3
or 4 days for a definitive response, by the
time we actually get a part (hopefully even
the correct part) , it's 3 weeks later lol.
I sincerely think that some of these
models have hit it out of the park in
terms of styling, would so like to find
      some confidence regarding support.
      Have a great day bro...

    • @bikersoncall
      @bikersoncall Před rokem

      @@manybikes If this 'Texas importer''
that has parts, is available to speak to or
get links to the parts he has available that
would be much appreciated. The best
I can assume at this time is that if I needed
valves, rings, head, sprockets, a rim, a diff
shock spring, brake assembly, cam chain
      tensioner, shifter dogs,
      engine replacement, I could spend
a month on those items trying to
find them, and as mentioned, no dealers
nor importers bothered to even respond
to my very simple parts and spec inquiries.
