- This is the #mukbang you have all been waiting for!! SEA (say-uh), it's a #Samoan delicacy, part of the Sea Cucumber, and either loved or hated by Samoans everywhere. Have you ever been brave enough to try eating Sea?? Our good friend Lama Manu joined Joe today to show him how it's done. Do you think Joe will eat it?? Watch and see!

OMG So yummy yummy
I love this guy Lama, he needs to be featured more !! lol
Should do more mukbangs with lama haha. Malo
I’m tryna get him to come to more!
yes yes I would love to watch you nd Lama again💓💓
Lua’u is called, “Palusami,” because, before salt was readily available in Samoa, they used sea water to salt their foods. The Samoan word, “palu,” means “to mix” and “sami” is the word for, “the sea.” So, “palusami” literally means, “to mix with salt water from the sea or the ocean!”
wow, that is interesting!
Wow good to know that
I couldn't even eat half of the stuff you were both eating😂
Joe you're brave lol
Where i luau from then? Hmm?
@@mosehlewi3081 “lu” and “lua’u” are two words used interchangeably in the past as references to the native Samoan dish where taro leaves are wrapped in banana and breadfruit leaves then cooked in the umu, without the coconut cream! But “palusami” gets its name from when the coconut cream was added to the taro leaves, then salted with sea water! Hence the word, “palusami!” Today, Samoan people use the word, “lua’u” when referring to “palusami” but in reality, they’re two different native dishes... I guess nobody bothers to differentiate things anymore. Appreciate your question. I know many overseas Samoan don’t get the privilege of growing up and attending a village school, like some of us did. But it is what it is and we owe it to ourselves to share these things with our fellow Samoans overseas.
Does this Samoan guy take overseas people around samoa when they visit the country, , cause if yes! I’ll definitely would like to book a few days and be hosted by him. He knows everything , knows what he’s eating , even has jokes 😂❤️✊
Hey Joe, I think Lama has been waiting for his opportunity to talk on JAMily TV. Love you Lama!!!

You know you're an islander when you're watching them eat sea snails and an ad of a sizzling burger comes up but you still prefer what they're eating over the sandwich. ❤❤❤❤
Love it Joe Lama complements the mukbang beautifully. Keep em comin please.
❤
This mugbang is my favorite so far. It was light, hilarious, and very informative. The authentic Samoan food spread really speaks of the treasured ocean and the environment. Your friend Lama is well verse in the Samoan food and delicacies. I hope you can feature him again. Joe, you really make the content more enjoyable with your honesty.... some of your actions and reactions are quite funny and spontaneous. Thanks for highlighting these seafood. My favorite is the limu - sea grapes 😀

The Samoan dogs getting the fish bones reminded me of the Laughing Samoans’ skit about the samoan dog getting “no meat” on the bones! Lol

I started with the pageant a week ago and then came via this segment. I haven't looked back! I SOO love all your segments I have seen thus far. As is, I have you all over my page. You are such a fresh breeze to the usual and you choose such wonderful co-hosts and places all over Samoa to highlight. Lama is my twin in the way we grew up. LOL! I am kind of glad that I am a little late to the dance as I get to enjoy all the clips slowly, and at my own leisure. Thank you, thank you... and sadly, I am also late to convey my condolences for your mom.
So sweet of you Lyn! Thanks for the love for mom. ❤️❤️
This makes me wanna go to Samoa soooo bad..hopefully one day. Thanks Joe and Lama for this video.
I love all your foods you had 🥰
Can I add that as a native Maori of New Zealand everything this man says about his chief is EXACTLY correct and I say that because our māori queens and kings would get that same treatment in terms of kai and being grateful with what we are given from our king or kings men I love Samoans bro they’re so loving so true too their culture and just all around (no matter what walk of life) ALL HONEST AND HUMBLE don’t get me wrong I’ve seen some Samoans gonHARD and throw someone above a house 😂😂 but still that’s because he got disrespected but see that goes without saying treat others how you wish to be treated but other than that our Samoan brothers and sister should come to AOTEAROA your people are thriving beautifully and the culture gives the maori people butterflies cause it’s like woah you guys are beautiful as a unit aye 💚 but anyway ka aroha taku hoa much love my friend x
bless you dear, faafetai for sharing your cultural similarity, great info for anyone reading and willing to learn. love our island culture and food :) alofas n blessings
It's Vicky here.Um yeah,Sea-cucumber is both delicious and healthy.Although it taste weird, not fishy but acidicly yummy.
I remember my mom getting excited when someone came from the islands and had sea for her.
It would smell so strong and I’d sit there in awe watching her eat this stuff...and then be in the bathroom for the rest of the night lol.
New sub. I enjoyed watching you two eat all those Samoan delicacies.
Hahaha good on you Joe cheehoo!
Love watching this video
The only two reasons why I want to visit home is #1, to see my families and village and #2 is food. This seafood right here is the best if you were born and raised in Samoa. Just feeling so hungry and a bit homesick while watching these JAMily TV videos guys.

Props to you Joe for eating that Sea lol, that was the fresh one but they have a fermented one that is more on the danger/bad smell side. I tried it once and never again 😂😂

Coming from Los Angeles CA, Samoan ppl from the motherland appreciate so much then the Samoan here in the US. Proud to be where I'm from, I never forgot🇼🇸 #DontThinkJustEat🤣 #Manuia🥃 #Yum🤤

Omggggggggosh🤤🤤🤤 I could almost taste the sea (sea cucumber gutsy) watching you eat it my faaaaaaaavvvvvve❤️❤️ that seafood feast is amazing- can’t wait to come home😭
That was yummy Samoan lunch boys. Food from the earth, natural and it's so very healthy and good for you. I can't wait to come home thanks to you joe and Lama 🤣❤👍.
Omgosh 😍😍😍 I loved limu I haven’t had that for decades yummmy!
The limu always surprises me even though i like it. Noli LOVES limu!!
I noticed that Hawaiian words for certain things are the same, kalo, limu and ulu. Love the different types of limu found in Hawaii. We call octopus,He'e as opposed to saying it with the letter f. A lot of the culture has been lost for Hawaiians,so every now an then I view samoan and tongan traditions to get a glimpse of polynesians past.
Fai ai fe'e and limu is my fav island food. Oka aswell and poke is nice too..
Sea cucumber and sea snails, looks delicious! ❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️
“No one die from it, we find out tonight “ 😂😂😂
An creative video !!! Keep it Up!!
Nice vlog information wise. I enjoyed Lama's commentary. As for the food I'd not be eating much of that food.
I'd only be eating the luau and breadfruit / taro.
its texture more than anything. Haven't had it in years but growing up that was a treat hahahaha.
Omg leva le koe ai se sea..Healthy food from the ocean..Yummy
Yummy Foods.
Watching from California USA ❤👍🙏❤
Watched this a few times and I have to say super proud of you for eating the seà. I can’t even eat that stuff, the smell is what kills it for me.
My dad is always reminiscing about the samoan market food, especially the fai ai fe'e! I can't wait to bring him back to Samoa so he can go wild at the market! 😁❤
