The only reason against that is Sarevok's helmet. I haven't had a single playthrough where it wasn't part of my main character's gear setup or a promnent part on a companion. On my Astarion Playthrough I played him as a Monk/Thief but Lae'zel was wearing the helmet. But then again... you can still just kill him after you became an Assassin.
Don't forget that in actually, hollyphants are giant, gold-maned winged mammoth with death star lazer for a trunk. They are absolutely worthy sacrifice
