It's fine to explore your options and date around before settling on one person; people do it all the time. Though I assume if we DID actually try to cheat on Shadowheart, with Karlach or with *anyone* for that matter, Karlach would definitely punch our teeth out.
Im team Karlach for life but you gotta be a special kind of evil to cheat on Shadowheart she has no memories so she cant even remember if she had a lover in the past from her point of view you were her first the one she trusted with her deepest fear and secret and you go around her back fucking someone else even if it is a absolute hottie and bea like Karlach it’s just a no

She wasn't this angry when I slept with Karlach in my current playthrough, in fact she was super supportive especially since Karlach only has so much time left. To be fair I hadn't slept with her yet, we'd only shared the kiss during/after the party but I had set things up as us pursuing a relationship. She also does speak of being a little open to the idea of polyamory with Karlach but shuts it down actually for Karlach's sake again due to her limited time from the infernal engine. Either way, I loaded back my save from before sleeping with Karlach and now am struggling with the pain that is trying to let Karlach down gently without feeling really bad about it cuz I didn't mean to lead her on.
Ironically, Karlach is alright with my character having some fun with Lae'zel until later when touch is no longer an issue. "You go have fun with the angry alien. Just, save some for me afterwards."
I can't imagine hurting my companions like that, or specifically, Shadowheart. I know about her heartwarming reaction if you chose her as a romantic interest over someone else, but I still wouldn't cheat to see it in the game.
During my second run as a bard I full on did the relationship thing with Karlach. At the very end when it was time for her to go or die the VERY first option was for her and Wyll to go. I was like "wtf have you been doing with my girl every load screen into the next morning?" Because she was always in my party. He wasn't but I did break his pact and save his dad and he became The Blade of Avernus. I ended up going with the three of us leaving for the hell but like damn, need to keep an eye on that horned boy for sure!
Wyll ain’t the type to sneak around on you. But he does sacrifice his soul to save Karlach. At the very least, he’s here best friend. And I’m pretty sure if you don’t romance Either, it’s implied that they get together
I have considered doing my second run as Wyll, and Karlach was my natural choice for such a run. He wouldn't go breaking poor Shart's heart, though. I imagine him better than that

As sad as this is, do this with La'zel. It's actually really tragic, as to my knowledge you are her first. That, and in githyanki years she's pretty young. It's crushing 😢

I got a similar scene with her on my Durge run. I was building things up with her. Had even helped her to become a Dark Justisciar and she told me that Shar would more than likely have us end things. I said I understood but also thought we should try. She agreed. Mind you I had also slept with Minthara at the end of act 1. So at the end of act 2 at camp Minthara and I had a conversation that was somewhat intense and had us entering a relationship together. The next time I talked to Shadowheart right after I got my version of this. I was thinking to myself "wtf didn't you think we were probably gonna have to end it for Shar anyways?!" But she was really cool with me and always brought up how surprising it was to be on such good terms with an ex.
I initially was romancing shadowheart and, I’m not sure how, but I found myself intimate with Laezel. Shadowheart was hurt but was keen on remaining close. I’m working on getting a three way going.
Weird. Shadowheart for my play through was totally happy with me cheating with everyone. She wanted to join in. But my first game was glitched that no one cared that I slept with everything that moved. Romanced everyone at the same time, then had to pick at the very end for the epilogue.
I like Shadowheart over Karlach. Karlach is too much like one of the boys. She is a good friend though. Fight through this games version of hell for her.
My first time playing i accidently cheated on karlack with the worlocks patron and i didnt known what i was doing untill karlack spoke to me and i was like shit i didnt quicksave before hand and i smashed astorion and he was like yeh im not dieing if your guna be with karlack
