Really good video. Thank you. I have a beautiful rex tiger and will take some cuttings and do some water prop.

It's really easy and fun to watch the development once they get started. Anything at all, just reach out. I'd love to hear how they progress for you. 🙂

Excited for week two to watch someone with more experience than I have do the same thing I'm *trying* to do lol! Very encouraging with the progress your begonias have made so far and I love your yarn idea!!

I am curious about nutrient availability for begonias in yarn culture. Do you add nutrients to the water? If so , which fertilizer do you use and how often? And, I really enjoy your videos.

Thank you so much!!!! 🙂 For the begonias, I use an extremely diluted solution - I mix up a batch as per the recommended dosage, but then I only add a few drops to the water I fill in their cups. I'm definitely on the lighter side, I'm sure you can fertilize a bit more heavily than that. I'm just cautious. 🙂 There have been times I didn't add any feed at all, and they continued to thrive, so you have options for sure.

Would the leaf with the very short stem root better on moist yarn or are you doing this experiment specifically to see if it will work with just water. My first thought when I saw it was that I would like to try polyester stuffing (the type used for craft work) which I’ve seen used for trying to grow roots on orchids bulbs (orchid ICU). I have a hanging pot of begonia which broke the hook it was hanging on and several leaves were snapped off when it hit the ground. They have very short stems so this video has given me some ideas that I’d like to try. You’ve really got me fired up with this propagating thing. I’m going around looking for anything I can try. Enjoying it too I must say. Thanks for the inspiration.

I tried polyester stuffing too. The type I had didn’t hold water that well but you can definitely give it a try. I’m still shocked how well so many different plants are still doing in yarn. The leaf with the short stem I ended up putting in the yarn and it took off 😃😃😃. It’s saving so many of my cuttings. So much fun, right? 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

For the begonia how many chains for your yarn do you use how many chains

Hello. It really depends on the size of your container. No set number of chains, just enough to fill the container about 3/4 full. Keep me posted. 😃
