  • Whirlpool and bubbling as I clear the blockage and get this water flowing again in our woodland. We built the culvert in 2007, to take a seasonal stream under the track rather than over it - it used to be a muddy bog most of the year.

I just boaught a place in oklahoma in march 2018. It has a creek that runs through the property a few ft from the house. At the far end of the property the water backed up halfway across the property during a storm on the opasite end from the house from a 3 day storm. Finly the storm stopped and when the water went down, i pulled a 13 inch car tire out of one pipe and a 2x3 ft piece of metal out of the other and a bunch of branches wich the city should have done a long time ago. No problems after i did the cities job for them sofar.

@@mikepepler LOL!! We had a neighbor build a pond fed by a ditch. He covered about 300yds of ditch upstream and ran pipe. Then the neighbor directly on the upstream of our property did the same. So we have about 50yds of uncovered ditch on our property, with covered pipe on both sides.
And all the neighbors became convinced our little stretch of open ditch was the reason the water doesn't drain off fast enough in hurricanes and heavy rain.
It ended up in court, where a state hydrologist told them what I had said for years. The Pond backs the water up when it gets filled, and the pipes aren't big enough to drain in heavy water.
