I'm receiving my FX Superior Heavy Liner for .25 caliber/700mm next week, (seems like I've been waiting forever for them to be made). In preparation to figure out which slug weight is best, I've ordered a pack of each grain weight from NSA for .25, (29 grains and up). I believe there's 11 different weights in total. Each pack of 160 is only $11, so it shouldn't cost me my arm and your leg to figure out which one is the best for my rifle.
I really enjoy watching your channel... very informative, down to earth and real information. Thank you
I don't have much experience with the .22 slugs bcuz i have my m3 on .25(600mm)/.30(700mm) cal but i think something goes wrong with harmonics buddy... Thx for the realistic video once again ... Keep doing your good job...
Going through this w .2w mav in 217 218 javs myself..good vid
My M3 .22 700mm Superior heavy liner loves H&N .217 30grn @ 1011fps,superb groups!
Good morning Sir.
I also shoot the M3 .22 with the heavy liner. I have great success with the Javelens 26gr, .217. At 980 to 984. Enjoy your day.
Great 👍 info 👍
Thanks for sharing.
You can go through a lot of expensive slugs testing. Drives me crazy 🤪
True story, slugs are not cheap
Yep those Superior Heavy barrels do have a lot of choke in them probably better to use the .217" in that barrel they also take a long time to break in , I for one always fire lap and hand polish the Superior Heavy barrels .
Great point brother!
Can't keep up with all the liners available.. the early liners were designed around the Neilson slugs, as time progressed the superior heavy and superior heavy slug liners are designed for Javelin slugs so don't give up. The sleeve is a must but you also need heavy slugs and high reg settings with shorter valve open time. Also testing at less than 100 is useless, slugs may appear poor at 50 but at 100 plus they come into their own when your settings are right.
Very good video
Thanks
Like you said, there's no one size fits all, experiment-test-repeat-over and over and over
awesome video moose 👍I shot the 30 gr javelin in my standard liner better then the heavy you are correct so now I shoot the 34 javelin out my heavy liner 33 zan and 34 gr vk ... I'm trying figure out how to tune my fx mk2 25 to shoot 25 gr fx pellets and I had the same problem in the morning it shot perfectly at 35 and 98 yards then in the afternoon when it was super hot it shot good at 35 but 98 it sucked it gets frustrating lol but yup its airgunning thanks for sharing bsafe buddy 👍
CL 🇨🇱🔥 puedes hacer uno más del aselkon mx7 s saludos ⚡
Slug your liner from the breech. Don't go all the way through the choke. Measure the slug with a good micrometer. Take note to Feel for loose spots. -nevermind on slugging as you mentioned it later on in your video.
Great serie of videos!! I’ll follow until the end to see the results!! Btw, at what distance were those grups?
100 yards
guud deal Moose 👍🏻🎯🐴❤️🤠🇨🇱
My M3 likes .218 in some brands and weights and .217 in others. I have a heavy liner installed with a 1:15 rate of twist I believe. I wish we would talk about rate of twist more. For example the heavy liner is called so because it has a faster rated of twist to shoot “heavier” slugs. Also dish base seem better than flat base but some of the Javelin slugs shoot just as good being flat base. The new Javelin design is going to be dish base from what I see. Looking to trying them. Your regulator pressure is much lower than what I have experienced in any of my airguns. 120 bar shooting 950 with a 30g slug. I have found I need to be 150 bar to shoot a 30g @ 950. My current tune is reg 1 @ 190, reg 2 @ 175, Macro 16, micro 4.3, valve 4.5, slug power kit installed, carbon liner, shooting NSA .217 35g or Javelin .218 34g at 1010 fps. This in on a pest control gun with an ATN thermal and at 50y I shoot a dime size group in a hand warmer. A conventional scope would shoot between. Love the content. Can’t wait to see where you end up.
.218 is great with softer lead. .217 is better with NSA as it is a harder lead.
Heavy liner is probably like a varmit barrel compared to a sporter bro
I'd love a detailed breakdown of all the parts and cost of this project. I feel like there is a lot of money in this rifle and I'd like to see if something like this is worth it or just a labor of love.
It's worth every penny in my opinion, but only you can decide if it's worth the money. I'm getting amazing results right now.
I agree with that, I'd like to know.
Moose, I been rocking with you for a long time man, I ain't going nowhere bro. Question, are there any .30 javelin slugs out to your knowledge?
I think just 22 caliber right now
@@abitoutside I just saw a video with Ted and I swore I heard him say something about .30 javelin. Maybe it's wishful thinking 🤔
@@derrickmitchell39dm there is now
Heavy liners are for heavy slugs. Like pushing 50 grains. Standard liners work better for the lighter slugs. This came from our friend in the business.
In 22 caliber they are made for 32gr and larger.
Was thinking of the 30 cal of course. Forgot you were doing 22 cal.
120 regulator is too little.... Try increasing the regulator (135/145). It's not that you need it to reach high speeds but it helps with the size of the groups. Another thing, the suppressor also influences the groups a lot. Another thing to try. I with 55J up to 65 get with great result all .216, .217 and .218 h&n and jsb. hugs from Portugal
Yep, just wait till you see the final reg setting 😀
@@abitoutside hello , what distance your shooting ?
True 😆
Wonder why the second and third groups with the Javelin shoot much more too the right than the first group
Wind, lots of wind
Iam going through the same shit moose frustrated I am lol and a lot of money spent . Iam shooting in 30 though. shooting great one day and the next day it is every where . It bends my mind . Maybe I should go back to pellets but I don’t want to lol. Makes me wonder how much of this is put on or fake by the big boys !!!!
It gets much better, I found the tune. Just a bunch of trial and error videos in between.
What scope are you using on the M3???
Element Titan on one and Arken SH4 on the other
need more FPS speed!
Nope wasn't speed, you will see coming up
@@abitoutside I've shot the Javelin 30 and 34 grains 218 and the ZAN 30.5 and 33 grains a lot at 970/980 fps with my M3 and they grouped very well! At this moment I shoot H&N 30 grains 218 and in 6 shots they were all in the same hole! This at 980 fps at 22 cal. Reg. 180/140 Best Regards
Yea, I am shooting faster than that now. And shooting 100 yards. I have it shooting better now, this video was just a trial and error video.
@@abitoutside best regards from Portugal my friend 🙏💪😉🇵🇹
Hi, had the same issue with the heavy liner with the 218 h&n 30gr... I gave up and reinstall the original liner!
That’s all sorts terrible unfortunately
Yep
I shoot jts 29.6 gn pellets for my M3 .25 cal. Will the carbon fiber sleeve have any benefit if I installed on the stock barrel. I do have the sleeve and slug liner but I just haven’t installed them yet.
Have to try it
@@abitoutside pellets hits bullseye at 30 and 60 yards so probably won’t mess with anything. I do small games and thats all the distance I need. I guess I should of never bought the carbon sleeve and slug liner. Oh well
