Beautiful plane. I had one of my own with a Saito FG-21 gasser up front. Flew it beautifully until I ran out of altitude coming out of split-S. What a brain fart on my part

I have the Seagull Models version of that plane. Just did the maiden earlier this summer. Quite frankly, I think it is an exact copy of the H9 plane. I believe they are all made in the same factory. Only differences seem to be some of the decals. lol I put a 20cc DLE in mine. Was pretty nervous when it first went up. However, the plane flies like a dream. Very stable, planted and responds to the sticks quite nicely. I do not have any stabilization in mine. Not only are these beautiful aircraft but, they are really good flyers. Nice job! Good video!

Thanks! I’ve been flying more and more with the gyro off. I’ve noticed that it can interfere with some maneuvers. It’s good to know there’s an alternative to this one if it ever goes in. They are head turners for sure. One of the best looking schemes I’ve ever seen on a plane.

Very nice flying. I have a Saito 125 in my Phoenix Stinson Reliant. Have the C-H electronic ignition and idle can be as slow as an electric.
Love this plane. I see you didn’t have to cut cowl for that engine. Nice. Looks like it’s powered just enough for scale flight?

Hey thanks I appreciate it! I've got 3 gallons of nitro left to use and I've already convinced myself to switch this engine over to gas. It sounds like C-H is working well for you, I'll research them some more.
I ended up cutting a small hole in the cowling for the valve cover because the intake was beginning to rub a hole into it just a tiny bit. It is a tight fit around the baffling they provide because it needs to be shaped to fit right on the cylinder for cooling.
This engine is mostly broken in now and seems to make more power with each flight. The low speed needle takes 1/8th of a turn in every 2 or 3 flights. I switched to an APC prop which is a lot heavier and it really smoothed out the idle and acceleration. I've had it as low as 1800rpm idle with the heavier prop, it really is a beautiful sound.
I think this engine running nitro is a bit too much power for this plane. Takeoffs are done at 30%-40% throttle and the uplines are endless. I haven't attempted any hovering or punchouts because that's not in my comfort zone. If switching to gas costs me 20% power I think that will suit this airplane just right. Thanks again!

Don't hover this airframe. It doesn't have the control authority and won't like the aft cg. You will lose it in a heartbeat

Hey thanks a lot. She’s got 35-40 flights on it now. Flying great and the engine has been reliable and strong. Really great airplane
