Beautiful plane and nice landing! (that roll was a bit scary, though ...)
I had a speck of pepper on my screen and could swear that your Christen Eagle was trying to mate with it. No, really fabulous model well done. I have the same engine and it seems to perform well.
Started on mine, have a OS GF40 that I hope will fit. Mine will get a yellow spinner like the original plane. Did anyone get strings for servo cabels and LED in their wings. Mine where missing but I saw it was mentioned in the manual. And there should have been a pilot in the cockpit, will have to find a 3D print and make one.
My wing had no strings for servos or lights. I had to use a fuel clunk on a string to get the wires ran through. Also no pilot was included with mine either. A few things to watch out for. My elevator pushrods were too short. They needed roughly another 10-15 mm to reach my servo arms when centered at 90 degrees. I don't know about the OS GF40 but on my Saito FG30B I had to relocate the throttle servo to the other side which involved cutting out a slot for the servo and using a DuBro flexible throttle cable. Double check your wing mounting dowels to make sure they're glued in securely.
You are the first person I've seen that has tamed the V1200! That must feel good!
I'm just getting into this hobby with a knock-off Hacker backpack and a real Hacker wing. I've watched a lot of vids on this topic, but got more practical information from this video than all the others put together. Thanks very much!!!!!
@@endall39 thanks a bunch! I still fly mine but only when it’s calm. I’ve got 2 and one has lights for night flying. I have the new one pre ordered but haven’t received it yet. Once I do I’ll do a video of it. Enjoy!
A four stroke glow engine makes a good sound .
Do you not have flaps set up on your model? Didn't look like you used them for catches? I have the heavy layup model and love it, looked like a lot of sink that day other than a couple bubbles you found to maintain altitude for a few seconds. Your launches looked so effortless yet still put it up pretty decently. Thermal mode looked like it was not tuned very well, hopefully you've got it sorted out by now. Nicely done New sub
If I didn’t in this video I do now. I finally got my flight modes working on my radios including a landing mode. I haven’t flown my DLGs this year any due to a hernia. Hoping to have it fixed and I’ll be flying again soon.
@@IllFlyIt as someone who's had a hernia operation I suggest you do the physio religiously, my core is still weak a couple years later, my doctor didn't explain it well and I didn't realize how quickly the muscle gets weak while you can't do much after the operation.
17 Ibs seems heavy for a model this size. I bought one, just haven't assembled it yet. I'm going with a Dle 35. Nice looking plane.
Yes it’s heavy but it carries the weight well if you know what I mean. I’ve flown it in 15mph winds 30° crosswind and it handled it beautifully. I’m loving everything this plane
Can you tell me how you hooked your lights up on the wings? Mine just has a red and black wire. How do you hook these up to the receiver?
This hobby is built any way you enjoy it...& Flown in any fashion...
Model shown with flying colors...helps .. visual Although you plane. Sometimes hard to tell weather coming or going I try to make some sort of stripe on one wing left side or right helps visual Of plane @ times when hard to see
How much are they?
Legend Hobby :$600 for airframe.
I love the Phenom 300 ❤ Good flight ✈️ Sir 😁👍
Great maiden, sounds nice. Jeff in LA USA
Very cool. What an awesome looking warbird. You can't beat a P-51D for style. 👍👍👍
Nice job 👊
I really enjoyed the assembly of this model. Seagull Models did a great job. This ARF was assembled in ~20 hours and was easy. It flies fantastic and the Saito 30cc fits perfectly with minimal modifications required. More flights and videos to come! Yes, I’ll practice the landings 😉! Also, the prop is a 17x8 not an 18x8, my mistake!
While the model looks okay in the air, it appears it is operating at 55 % throttle. Some concern was expressed about overheating at the start of the video regarding this. Is this why the model seemed a bit sluggish?
So slow?
I put a wing spar on mine because I wanted to put wheels on it. I still fly stock with a 3S 1800 and it's just perfect.
Beautiful plane. I had one of my own with a Saito FG-21 gasser up front. Flew it beautifully until I ran out of altitude coming out of split-S. What a brain fart on my part
Can you tell me what device you installed to get mph telemetry?
It’s the Spektrum GPS telemetry module. The display is off of my IX14 doing a “screen recording” and it’s synced up using editing software.
@IllFlyIt Must be the GPS Telemetry Sensor Spektrum - Item No.SPMA95871. I have the same remote. I was under the impression that you can only view Speed on the Smart Telemetry screen if you had GPS, Avian, or a Smart ESC. Thanks for the information.
Great video...👍
Thanks! That plane was one of my favorites at Nall.
Where did you get the tail ? And what manufacturer is it? Thx
It’s made by Prism. Link below prismkites.com/collections/kite-tails/products/spectrum-tube-tail
Awesome thank you very much
What’s with the stupid music?
It is their routine's music. I didn't add it.
This is a bucket list item for next year. That jet team is amazing.
You fly it beautifully
Excellent. Thanks for the great video... What an awesome event.
Tad rich
i could listen and watch this for ages , what a sound and model, thanks for sharing this 👍
You think that's something, check out the 5 cyl Corsair. Look up 400cc Moki Corsair. He first pass will have your neck hairs on end...
what wheels are those?
They’re the wheels that come with the FMS Super Cub. The ones in this video were the 1.7M wheels which are a hard foam. I’ve since switched to the smaller 1.3M Super Cub wheels that are an inflatable rubber that are much better.
@@IllFlyIt great thanks. have you had to replace the landing gear bands and if so what did you use?
Just like looking at blue sky!
Just finishing E-Medina but no previous experience with V-Tail. Looked for online info on radio setup but apparently not searching well. I have a Spektrum NX8 and I "think" setup involves mixing and/or channel assign, maybe more. If you’re willing to share anything that might educate me a little I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks...
I’ll have to look at my radio to see how I got it to work. It’s been so long I since I’ve set it up I can’t remember exactly how to do it. I’ll post it soon.
Thanks, no hurry.
That brought back memories… 👨🏼✈️
Not overpowered
Damn nice flying… in damn nice country.
What prop size did you used? Looks like need more pitch
I was just filming, the owner is the guy flying it. He’s still working out the kinks on it. I think this was only the 3rd or 4th flight.
Dammit, Jesse I about freaked out but I could not find your old videos on CZcams.
Hahahaha that's badass!!! 🤟🤟🤟 Sounds like a race car flying by!! 😂
Very informative
Sounds amazing yet seems under propped. Needs more pitch. Cool looking model!
🫡
Very smooth flight, and a great looking model
I built same Herr kit with the throttled Norvel 1/2a quite a few years ago it weighed about 16-19 oz and flew really scale-like with quarter to half throttle, nice slow steady airplane. I used a very light doped-on covering. Your electric is a bunch heavier, this kit flies better on the lighter side.
I agree! The one I built was 28oz if I remember correctly. I have a 1/2a Cub kitted by Alien Aircraft that I’ll eventually build one day. With the knowledge I gained on this one it’ll be considerably lighter weight.
That sounds amazing. A whistling sound would be cool too.
Yeah it would!
How did you get audible speed reports from your transmitter?? Thx.
I’m using the Spektrum GPS telemetry module and my transmitter is the IX14. You can have it do just about any audio output on the flip or touch of a switch. NX series aren’t able to do the audio like the IX series can because it uses google speed which is part of the Android OS on the IX14.
I "think" there may be a way to do it, I found today. I'm test flying it tomorrow and will let you know!
It worked! Reads out ground speed MPH
@Denny_H that’s awesome! If you don’t mind, can you share how you got it to work? I still have a NX10SE that I’d like to have it work on.
@@IllFlyIt I have the instructions on a pdf that I need to upload. I'll have to put them on a drive and post a link this weekend
nice bird Jesse
Big hit at 6:10 😂
very cool!
Just found this channel. Excellent!
What OS engine are you using? What size servos and fuel tank?
This is using an OS15. Micro sized Hitec servos and at the time of this video a 4oz tank. I’ve since switched the tank to a 2oz and get 5-8 minutes of flying before it’ll run out. Smaller tank just helps keep the weight down. It’s feather light and stalls at a walking speed.
Great Video done this departure procedure like you many times in all kinds of jet types. Excellent job on your presentation and keeps me out of trouble. Thank-You…
