  • Lenovo IdeaPad 5 14ARE05 is perhaps the best indicator of the impact that the AMD Zen2 CPU's will have now that they are finally hitting the mobile market. Intel is no longer the leader in the segment which was traditionally one of its strongholds. How much has AMD improved with Ryzen 4000 APU's, and what has Lenovo done with the AMD based Ideapad 5, check out in our in-depth review...

    I got my T14s a few days ago. Throttles like mad, the 4750U PRO is an 8c/16t beast but never can live up to it's potential. Having said that, the +900 Euro price increase over this Ideapad is hard to justify in my opinion. Might return the (awesomely built) T14s.

    • @scollurio
      @scollurio Před 3 lety +1

      blackandcold new ideapads are all metal. But that’s not my point. The build and chassis of the T14s is great no doubt about that, but it’s crippling the ryzen 7 as it can’t keep it cool. It’s throttling all over the place and just comparing performance to the Ideapads - which seem to have better cooling - it’s tough to justify the extra money - for me. I hope a T14 with a R5 will be able to run as close to best possible performance.

I use laptops like portable computers that I can easily take from point A to point B more than a mobile device where I'm using it in the park or on a bus. I'm usually plugged up for max performance so that means basically 100% of the time I'm using for something I couldn't do on a phone, I'm losing a USB port... and I use a lot of peripherals so I really need my ports :(
