With the changes to healing in Reaper, its now so easy to keep a sorc healed, just bring your choice of scrolls or wands and heal away with no penalty.

I don't know much about druid other than I see them wrecking things all the time and would love to see what the fuss is about.

Fire Sorc RULES!
Hey Strim, long time watcher and fan! I know you are busy but I was wondering if maybe you could cover the other 2 or 3 sorcerer flavors at some point. I often think, especially based on your vids, that earth and air sorcerers are fairly useless. I tried running an air sorc on non hardcore servers and it ended up being a terrible experience. If you read this and consider even for a sec then thanks!
Air sorc is the fastest, I just don't like it as much. Earth sorc has no redeeming qualities, all the spells are bad and low level, with the only good spell being acid well. 1 Spell does not a spell caster make.
@@Strimtom Thank you sir, I do appreciate the reply. I wonder if the devs are willing to revisit these issues more in the future. It was cool that sorc had the most enhancement trees but that doesn't mean much if only 2 are useful/played.
@@aramtyth They are buffing melfs acid arrow (6x dps) and black dragon bolt (2.5x dps) in the next update at the end of FEB.
Those spells still suck, but at least it is a start
@@Strimtom I think they are trying to make each element cover different niches. Crowd control seems more varied than it used to but damage output still seems top of the list. Fire damage everything is dead. Ice is slows and stops, Acid is dots city, and Electricity seems to be a combo of the other 3.
You're right about acid well though, great spell but really the only one of its kind and lvl 9.... Ugh
You probably talked about gear sets in previous sorcerer builds but I’m wondering what you recommend now-Esoteric Initiate? Might of the Abashai? Arcsteel battlemage?
Currently my go to for fire sorc are
-Flamecleansed fury from sharn since medium armor is great for sorcerer + 3 piece autumn for the critical.
-Walking ancestor + isle of dread set + a fire set, usually either chained elements or something from the desert.

I find electric better, once you get chain lightning and ball you sweep lvls fast. Lightning bolt with multi proc can deal 10-20k dmg at epics and stroke is a reaper/boss killer
I like Air as well .. Chain Lighting is kool looking in a dark room arcing from mob to mob .. plus Wind Dance is just way handy for my old blind ass moving around , I use fire as well , and have most the spells Strim has here too .. maybe one life I’ll go all out Fire
Hi mate how do I make my sorc's otto spell and hold spells work for cc? I have a low will save so they never work!
Ever wondered why not multiclassing wiz and sor? So that you can benefit from both scroll inscription and double casting speed.
Because that isn't quite how it works. The game keeps the spell lists different, and the powers different; so your sorcerer spells will cast at double speed using your sorcerer level as your caster level, while the wizard spells will cast at normal wizard speed with your wizard level as your caster level. That's why you rarely multiclass casters.
Pretty good timing. Recently finished by Racial Completionist and have been cleaning up iconics before I circle back to cleaning up the heroics I still need 2 of.
Taking a break at cap for a month at least for now, but will file this one away for later.
In non hardcore would you recommend this fire sorc or a Tiefling? Or would you go with your previous Tiefling build ? The one with the wild flame and Giantsplatter shield ? Thanks
I think that tiefling isn't as good as dragonborn as of right now.

I noticed your characters always have really high stats, what is the best way to get them? do you have to buy the tomes or something.
I usually like to keep the same variety of stats each life , so for example a wizard is intelligent based stats so each life for that character to make it stronger I either go Alchemist or I go Artificer seeing as both use Intelligence that stat will stack making you very strong for all classes that use Intelligence
@@lok063 30+charisma at level 11 seems very high to me, did you use tomes or something or is it a hardcore thing? I think I am missing a core game mechanic.
How many past lives do you have? Some people have 10 or 20 past lives or even more and those passive stats from other lives carry over into the next this is why people reincarnate so many times it builds passive skills on the character your using making them stronger significantly over time as you reincarnate or (TR) is what in game players call it. (True Reincarnation)
@@lok063 Ahh yes that must be it, I have made 50+ characters but never actually reincarnated one haha (my favorite thing is trying multiclass builds) 18 is the highest level character I have but stopped playing him and started another.. I gotta stick to one char, its gonna be hard =).

So you went with Dragonborn this time instead of Tiefling. Is it because of HC? Why ditch the SLAs? : even with TWF Shadow blades I still run low on SP. My fav build so far has been your DB Pally though, so I'm not knocking the class. Thx for these vids!
I explain in the video that I never ran out of mana so SLAs are wasted points.
Dragonborn is better than tiefling since it gives caster levels and evocation DCs

I am always running out of spell points. I do constantly have my metamagics on, should I be more frugal with those?

following your written build and I've picked Core1:Hardy1/Tier1 Resilience1/ but now I can't seem to be able to pick the next one Core2 Ability1: +1 Charisma. Is this a miss print? or am I suppose to work on another panel for now til it becomes avalible?
lol the wiki says it's a lvl4 thing. wish that enhancement had a tooltip on it
Yeah. In terms of order it was:
-Get the second core of fire savant (6 points)
-Get dragonbreath
-Get the second core of air savant (6 points)
-Finish fire savant
-Finish dragonborn
-At 20, put air savant into EK
Can't a sorcerer warforged heal themselves?
Yes, fairly common setup too. Grabbing the repair spells where u can, pretty sure once u get Reconstruct you only need repair serious so its not that hard
Grabbing any sorc tree capstone means when in elemental form, you are no longer considered a living construct and do not heal anymore from repair spells. Normal healing spells do work in that case. So if you're playing heroics you can, or as long as you don't grab the capstone and go in elemental form.
@@tbjas Yeah i typically only run heroics for building up past lives, but in epics you can just use destiny tree stuff for healing. So you can get consistent self healing throughout the whole game as warforged sorc
If you’re going to 30, then no because the elemental form makes you not a construct

AotS is the easiest for 1-20 leveling, but NOT as good at cap
why are you guys running Isle of Dread content at lvl 11?
You can level to 10 fairly easy off of free to play content so in heroic its best to wait for isle of dread because it's a very strong dlc it's harder to do Reaper for it at the DLC level 7
It was hardcore and so we we're just getting a few more pieces of gear, and it can be sketchy at level 9 on HC
Fire bolt?? HA, it's a waste of SP, like all the bolt spells. I found it better to use Color Spray and swing a weapon until I get to lvl 2 spells like Scorch.
Often archers come in triplets stood in a line that is exactly one firewall long.
(You can also round up the melees and run them to the firewalls archers then fireball to finish everyone off)
What about tiefling?
Tiefling also works, since you can ignore fire immunities while levelling. Super strong.
You lose that self healing weakness by making war/bladeforged.
True, but lower charisma in the lower levels is harder to deal with unless you have pastlives and gear.
@@Strimtom It's not that bad. Especially on a bladeforged. You can max at 18 and only lose 2 charisma for not being a dragonborn. Takes a heart to switch one level of pali though. Even as a warforge, the self healing is worth the 4 point tradeoff. Especially in reaper.
